Moldy melon
Purchased melon along with many other items at Tesco's Cavan store and back at home I noticed melon's moldy bad part was covered by labels. Obviously they did cover it to sell instead of putting it in the waste bin. I put in the bin at home instead of them. Shame on Tesco staff who is responsible for this trick.

was in tesco wilton today
was in tesco wilton today. noticed i was being tailed like a thief by security which tbh put me a bit on tilt and annoyed me. went to self service paid and walked out the security gates. realised I had left 20 in the till, come back and the 20 is gone. either a customer, or the self service assistant pocketed it. 21.20pm 18/082025 store 3549 checkout 075. check the cameras. see if your staff member robbed me or the other customer. fun experience being completely flustered by your security only to then be robbed in your store.

Was in Tescos in Tullow today and two of the workers were talking shit about one of their colleagues. And they knew there was customers around who can hear them. Not impressed at all and not the first time I’ve made a complaint. Workers need a kick up the back sides

Always get my clubcard voucher by post
Always get my clubcard voucher by post, this time I got an email to say they will be sent digitally, had no consultation with them. I contacted customer service but they said if I wanted them posted then I would have to wait till November . Customer Service is a joke. Will avoid Tesco in future and shop elsewhere .
Every little helps.

Tesco Ireland dun laoghaire Horrible experience
I was new in Ireland and entered Tesco in Dun Laoghaire. It was almost 10:00 pm when by the time I finished. I was a tourist from Dubai and in Dubai they announce the closing time, half and hour before closing. There was no announcement here and when I came to pay for my goods, I did not know that I had to place the item on the tray for it to read it. So it kept saying, call for assistance’ the lady in charge, instead of guiding me how to go about just kept getting annoyed. And finally while paying off, my card did not read properly so instead of helping me out with it she simply took my goods away and did not let me complete my purchase and embarrassed me saying that it’s closing time.
Tesco Click &Collect Liffey Valley
I’ve never had issues with Tesco Click & Collect until today (27th July) at the Liffey Valley branch. I arrived at 11:30 for an order booked between 9–11 AM. As I met the staff member, I mentioned my slot was 9–11, and he quickly replied that I should have come on time as he’d be on his break. I found his tone unnecessarily sharp and unhelpful. I came during the next slot knowing staff would be around, and I’ve collected late before without a problem. The interaction was disappointing and could have been handled with more courtesy.
Bullying
Me and my friends went to a Tesco in Youghal and the reception we got there was absolute terrible me and my friends got different things in different trolleys and we were still talked to in a very rude manner. I couldn’t tell if it was a racist encounter or something else but it was terrible and I don’t think I would ever go back there because I was embarrassed and it want nice to feel that way for paying to get goods in a supermarket it was terrible. I payed for all the goods I bought and did not deserve to be treated like that. This is not the first time they have been rude to customers especially black people but most of the time I haven’t said anything about it but this particular encounter I can let it slide it was an ambush by the workers and we did not deserve to be treated like that.
Bad attitude from delvery driver
I had a Tesco delivery in the Donnybrook area today. Driver arrived at around 11.15am. Never said hello or goodbye, nor did he return my greeting, Young guy with a beard - stood humming loudly while I emptied the carts.
Worst attitude I've ever come across. Normally the Tesco drivers are so friendly. This one is clearly unhappy in the job. Shame.
Older Staff are so rude act as though…
Older Staff are so rude in ballyfermot store act as though thier only there for thier own convienience shop is dirty ques are always long while tills are closed it’s the last place I’d shop just left a trolly full last week liffey valley much nicer experience
Mind your receipts.
Bought TV in Nov 23 in Tesco Artane and all was well until early July this year when the screen began to fail. Look for but couldn't find receipt. Best I could do was photoshoot of card statement. Presented to customer service but was told it wasn't proof of purchase. Felt brushed off by assistant but not deterred. Spoke to Caitlin managing the checkout area and showed what proof I had. She proceeded to elevate my problem to a higher level. As a result of her efforts she informed me they would honour the guarantee. Many thanks to Caitlin for her help. It does pay to persist. Also thank you to Tesco Artane.
Poor choice and expensive
A few years ago Tesco seemed to be quite progressive, lots of interesting foods, a good choice of gluten free and veggie/vegan items but over the last few years the choice has diminished, particularly the chilled veggie/vegan options and the prices go up on a weekly basis, sometimes by double digit percentages. Tesco seems to be heading for lowest common denominator customers whilst racking up 100s of millions in profit. I feel used, abused and ignored as a customer. My main shop will be from Lidl, it is about as eclectic as Tesco but significantly cheaper and there is always the surprise stuff on any given week. Tesco Waterford has lost my custom.
Customers don't matter here.
On entering my local store in Dublin, I'm told to locate my own basket as they don't have enough staff to provide same, then I get to the tills and have to scan my own groceries as they don't have enough staff to do same. Pretty sure I'll be asked to stack shelves and fill fridges soon as they don't etc etc etc etc etc. Poor customer service, well nonexistent actually.
False Availability – Wasted My Time
I recently spotted a Google nest mini on Tesco Ireland's website that offered a 50% discount with Clubcard points. Excited by the deal, I signed up for an account, selected my local store, and placed an online order for click-and-collect, scheduled for two days later.
However, when I arrived at the store at 9 a.m. to pick up my order, I noticed an email (sent at 7 a.m. that same morning) informing me that my order had been cancelled—with no explanation. Confused, I went into the store, only to be told that the item hadn’t been in stock since last year (2024). Even worse, the staff admitted they were aware the product was still being advertised as available on both their website and in-store systems, yet nothing had been done to correct the misleading information.
This was a complete waste of time and an incredibly frustrating experience. Tesco needs to update its stock availability in real-time to avoid disappointing customers like this. Very poor service.
Club card rip off
Tesco’s Ireland and indeed this is the same for other countries . Tescos discriminate and rips off tourist customers using in other countries. As a Tescos customer for 35 years we are forced to get a club card to get offers and reasonable prices . However you can’t pick up a club card in store , can’t get one delivered as we are travelling around in out motorhome and the Ap won’t allow us to download in that county . This resulting in us paying high prices for our groceries . Club cards prices should be banned in favour of good old offers . I’m here for 6 weeks self catering but will be avoiding Tescos . Fed up of British supermarkets loyalty ( harvesting cards ) . I’ve emailed Tescos but no reply .
I will start off with the + points:
I will start off with the + points:
They have everything, if you can find it in the store ( if you can’t, don’t bother asking any of the staff to help you)
Not cheap but average prices, compared to other stores.
And the - points: ( put on the kettle )
90% of the staff are arrogant.
“If you can’t find it, we don’t have it” attitude,
Fruit/veg is very often bruised and will be mouldy very quick ( Lidl much better )
Staff hang around chatting to each other, sometimes in groups of 4. Does management ever watch the cc instore cameras??
You actually never see a manager in a store.
Staff seem really uninterested in their work, more like ‘ x amount of days to payday ‘ attitude.
Customer service is virtually non existent.
It’s such a pity because they obviously think that Tesco head office pays their salaries but it’s not, we the customers do. Management should crack a whip and wake them up. They need us more than we need them. There are 4 other supermarkets in town I can go to.
Balls in Tesco's court now…
Tesco store Ballincollig appalling
Tesco store Ballincollig . Visited the store at 8:50pm 17/06/2025 . Had 4 items to checkout. Stood for 5 mins in a queue at self service . Eventually it came to my turn and was only then told by the staff member that the two cash machines were down and it was card only for payment. I did not have my card with me. She told me I would have to go to the only checkout open which had two people in front of me with two full trolleys. I think this is very poor that at least one cash machine was not made available at self service. I can never understand people standing waiting to pay cash and card only machines standing idle. Tesco would want to wake up and see what the customers need. Think I’ll be changing to Aldi who at least check out t really quickly and have competitive prices. I spent 20 mins in total in the store when I could have been in and out in less than 5 mins
