Avoid This Company!
I recently purchased a pair of boots from Frye & Co., mistakenly thinking I was buying from the iconic Frye brand known for its craftsmanship. What a disappointment.
The boots I received were shockingly poor in quality, cheap materials, uncomfortable fit, and clearly stamped Made in China. They looked nothing like the premium leather boots Frye is famous for, and the quality didn’t even come close to justifying the price tag. It felt like I had paid top dollar for something that should be sitting in a bargain bin.
To make matters worse, Frye & Co. charged me over $12 just to return the boots. Most reputable companies offer free returns, especially when customers are misled by branding. It’s insulting to be nickel-and-dimed after such a disappointing purchase.
This company is clearly trying to cash in on the Frye name while cutting corners at every level. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will never purchase from Frye & Co. again. If you’re looking for authentic, well-made boots, avoid this company and shop directly from The Frye Company instead. Frye & Co. is nothing more than a knock-off operation hiding behind a trusted name.

I purchased a pair of Tyler boots in March. I wore them twice. Last week I went to put them on and noticed a large split in the seam in the middle of the boot. I contacted customer service. The emailed response was "Too bad. Here's a list of cobblers from Google. Good luck and thank you for shopping with us." I have been a loyal customer for 30 years. I still wear 90% of them. This is unacceptable. I will never ever ever purchase another item from this company. I used to brag on their quality. No more. The quality level is now subpar, to say the least. What a sad end to a formerly great business. I could understand it if I'd had them for a while, but that isn't the case. Do not shop from here. I don't even mind having older pairs resoled. I've done it multiple times. The boots were absolutely worth it. But they were old by that point. Not sitting in a closet for just 2 months. Go to Freebird, Red Wings, or even Bed Stu boots. Spend your money with a company that still backs their product.

They will scam you by saying their product is not able to be returned, and the shoes are no where near worth what they are selling them for.
Scam company
Scam company, do not buy from them or you will get stuck with useless items that you can’t use and they will not take back or exchange.
What kind of reputable company does not stand behind their product? Well, I learned the hard way. I will never Buy from them and want to put it out in the universe so that I can save you other consumers the heartache of using this worthless conniving company.
SCAM- defective boots and they won’t help
After spending several hundred dollars on a pair of boots that I saved up for, the base of the boots started splitting about a month into owning them. I showed them this and I explained to them that I needed a replacement pair of boots, but these were my only winter boots that I had currently and needed them for work. They offered a refund once I sent them back, which would take several weeks. They then said I could just buy a new pair of boots and then return the others for a refund (keep in mind I spent weeks breaking these boots and my 30 day refund to return is almost up). This means I would buy a new pair and by the time I went to return them most likely they would not accept it because I passed the 30 days. SCAM! Then I asked if I could return them at the end of winter/mud season and get a new pair at that time (maybe 60 days from date of purchase). They offered to give me until March 3 as a favor to me, which is four days from now. They acted like giving me four days more to return them with a huge favor. They ended up giving me a 20% refund, which is nothing. I am now stuck with a couple hundred dollar pair of boots with the base of them detaching. Their company is a scam. Do not buy from them. Worst customer service ever.
I am a cancer survivor with a lot of medical debt and I saved up for these boots. They were a gift to myself that I’ve been wanting for over a decade. I finally bought them only to have this experience.
This should be ZERO stars
This should be ZERO stars. They charge you shipping for products that do not represent photos on their sight. Then they charge you to return the items that they falsely represented. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY.
I tried to cancel be the item shipped and the lied and said it had shipped when I had verified that shipping had not begun.
Order gone haywire
I purchased a pair of boots for my daughter for Christmas. The confirmation email was received, my money was taken and just before Christmas, I got an email saying the order was canceled for no reason. I was notified that the boots were back in stock, I placed another order. The boots came.— Wrong size. I sent the boots back. I re-ordered the size I wanted, the boots came, again wrong size. Furthermore, the boots that were sent were used and came in a beat up old box. I also I am, or should I say it was, a long time Frye Boot Customer. But no more. There are better alternatives out there. Who has the time to spend with this type of company no matter how good the boots are. The only thing I can say is that my experience with customer service was actually quite good.
Quality is waaaay down, customer service even worse
I have worn Frye boots for over 20 years (a few pairs I have are that old).
The quality in recent years has gone waaaaay down and their customer service is even worse. I bought an almost $500 pair of boots that, within three months and less than ten wears, are falling apart. Originally, customer service said I could send them back for a refund even though it was beyond their 30 day return policy. As it turns out, the boots are ineligible for a return. I don’t want a replacement pair as the heel falling off seems like a design flaw. They won’t even take them back for a credit.
BEWARE: Stay Away
BEWARE! This company has become a scam!
I purchased a pair of boots from them on Black Friday. Selecting my size using their tool, it gave me a boot that does not fit.
When I went to exchange them they say the sale is final. Turns out buried in their fine print the company’s sale items are almost all non-returnable or exchangeable. Instead of working with me to get an exchange that would have cost them nothing, they recommend I sell this brand new unworn boots on their own exchange marketplace. I have never seen a less reputable company.
They have the worst customer service you will ever experience. They repeatedly hang up after regurgitating the return policy.
Maybe worst of all, their boots are now poor quality, uncomfortable and not worth a quarter of what they charge.
Steer clear at all cost. If you want an accurate view of their boots go to YouTube and search: “(161 yrs) Frye should be embarrassed”
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. They won’t allow me
To exchange my boots for the same style just larger size. They told me I have to pay to return my boots and re-purchase at a higher price. Same style, only need a larger size and they won’t honor holiday sale price? Why pay high end prices for a terrible customer experience. I’ll go somewhere else with my money. I’d recommend you do too. Oh and their emails are rude.
I inadvertently hit the incorrect color…
I inadvertently hit the incorrect color selection when ordering boots. Immediately upon receipt of the merchandise, I requested an exchange but they refused to honor the request. I am very dissatisfied with the company who apparently does not recognize the value of customer satisfaction.
Do not recommend
I purchased an expensive pair of brown buckled boots that cost almost $500, but the leather started peeling after just a few weeks of normal wear. The most infuriating part is that the leather is peeling off the shoe, and the boots won't stretch out.
When I contacted customer service, they were extremely rigid and rude, showing no desire to resolve the issue.
I highly do not recommend Frye. They do not care about their customers or creating high-quality products.
Similar to other customers, I have had problems with the additional non-transparent fees.
Similar to other customers, I have had the after ship protection added that is difficult to remove. This is a junk fee/scam that they refused to reverse even though it was not selected for purchase and takes awhile to try and remove.
I also had free shipping listed on the Shopify website but then the shipping was still added on to the price. You CANNOT check out with the correct total on the bottom. If you check out anyway - even though the item and tax add up to less than the total - you will be forced to pay that total amount. I contacted customer service and was told I was confused because free shipping is only at 275 USD or more than that. I am not confused - they are doing some scam like things on the check out and charge for shipping even when it says it is free. Buyer beware. I am recommending BedStu as an alternative merchant to people reading this.
"I understand your frustration, and I appreciate you sharing your concerns.
I want to clarify that free shipping applies only to orders totaling $275 or more, excluding taxes. If your order was below this threshold, shipping charges would unfortunately apply. I can see how this might lead to some confusion, especially if the website indicated otherwise.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out!
Warm regards,
Kevin

Buyer beware
Buyer beware! Upon checking out, please make sure they are shipping what you added to your cart! I had chosen a black size 5 boot (showed as available and allowed me the option to “add to cart”). However, Frye shipped a larger size and color. The rep informed me that a different size and color was automatically added to my cart after I pressed the “add to cart button” because they were out of stock on the one I wanted to order. She explained Frye adds the next size up to go through inventory and that their online inventory is not updated to reflect current stock. Now, I have to take the time to return the item, as well as, pay for shipping. I have never had this happen before by any other company. And I shop mostly online. Usually, when an item is not available, it does not give me the option to choose it, and definitely does not choose an alternate for me. Please be aware when checking out and double check their inventory by calling them.

I just received my new pair of Conway Moto Harness Boots. They look great!! I want to personally thank Claire for her assistance including the free shipping. She did a great job.
Frye WAS my go-to handbag
Frye WAS my go-to handbag and shoe company. I have over a dozen purses and several pairs of shoes/boots. I purchased a "Claire" handbag with an ornate strap. It was less than 2 weeks old and the strap started falling apart. A $300 bag and it's falling apart. I contacted Frye and they said "too bad, so sad." would not replace the strap as requested and offered no other remedy. So disappointing. I've purchased my last Frye product.
Purse coming apart at the seams
I bought the Melissa purse beautiful purse high quality leather ha e had dor not e en 3 months and the seam is coming apart contacted frye company to be told they have no repair service to take back to the store went back to store because it has been over 30 days store will do absolutely nothing contacted frye again oh nothing they can do so ladies spend your money on something that will last more than 2 and a half months alot of money to have a purse for 2 months
Quality issues
Got a pair of Venetian shoes wore them 4 times and the sewing came undone. I contacted customer service and they were most unhelpful as I was outside the 30 day window for returns. I sent photos showing that they were essentially new, hardly worn, without even a scuff on them. Still nothing. In the email they even say "we do not have a warranty for our products at this time."
You'd think for what they charged for them they'd have a little wiggle room in their customer service.
I give 1 star because I can't give…
I give 1 star because I can't give less. Customer service is inexistent, they ignore you even though they claim to reply within 24hours. DONT BUY HERE. Absolutely garbage.
