Send a confirmation email with expected delivery date.

Good communication. The colour I ordered was out of stock and no longer available. They gave me the choice to chose a different colour which was fine by me as they still had a good selection. Good price and delivery was good.

On the 08 September 2025 l placed an order but never received any confirmation of such from the company. 3 days later on the 11th I get an email telling me that the frames I ordered are no longer in stock but the next size up was. In order to not delay the process any further I chose the larger frames and was told the delivery process would be upgraded to RM 1st Class. On the 12th I was told the order was processing. On the 15th they then ask for my PD which was submitted the same day. On the 29th I get an email to say the frames are in the Lab and that the lens supplier have said the lenses will be with the Glasses Company within 1-2 business days. I’m told the order is on priority with the Glasses Company. It’s now the 8th of October and everything has gone quiet, I’ve received no glasses or further emails. Now this company seems to be highly rated by trustpilot and I fail to understand why, because if you look at the negative reviews they constantly advertise stock they don’t actually have and delays are common. Are they getting their mates to write glowing reviews?

Much better value way to buy varifocals. I’ve used them twice now. Very straightforward process and both times my prescription entries have been double checked by someone. They recommend using the GlassesOn app to measure your PD and I would recommend this also.

Very pleased . I have used them before and can’t fault. Very good value for money.

Just awful. They state that frames are "available" and that they will be delivered within 14 days, then I find out that they were on back order from the beginning. It took over a month for them to arrive, only receiving updates when I emailed them (Replies taking 24hrs+ at times with no phone contact).

I ordered the pair of glasses on 11th September 2025 and did not receive a confirmation of my order,
I had difficulty locating the website of the company nor a contact telephone number.
I was able to receive a reply to my chaser email after 8 days of sending an email.
In short, I had concluded that the company is a scam and was on the verge of reporting the purchase to my credit card company. I will never buy from them AGAIN.

Absolutely horrendous from start to finish. And still the prescription glasses I ordered came wrong and can’t get an answer to resolve the issue! Never buy from you again.

Delivery took an age (nearly 3 weeks) and communication was lacking. I received no order confirmation, no updates (unless I chased customer services), and no delivery info.

Glasses were as-ordered and accurate to prescription and significantly cheaper than high-street opticians, so no issues at all with the product, but communication really needs to improve.

Extremely pleased with my new glasses, despite an initial issue with the size of glasses ordered this was quickly rectified and I received exactly as ordered within a short time, I would definitely recommend The Glasses Company as the best alternative to the extortionate high street outlets I got my verifocal glasses with all the extras including thinner lenses at less cost than the high street outlets wanted just for the frames alone, well done and thanks to all at The Glasses Company.

Better communication required.

I received my Oakley Metal Plate prescription glasses from The Glasses Company and I am really pleased with them.

But

When I placed my order online I didn’t receive a confirmation email. After a couple of days waiting I sent an email to TGC to see if they had received my order and if everything was ok. After a couple more days I received a response saying that the frames I ordered were not available. TGC suggested an alternative frame which I accepted via email. I then received another email to say that my order was now being processed and would be expedited. I then didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks. I sent another email to TGC for an update and was told that my glasses were in the glazing process. After a couple more days I phoned TGC and was told that my glasses were being dispatched that day.

It was a frustrating process ordering my glasses from TGC and I felt it was down to me to chase TGC to get information / updates

The online stock list of frames should be real time. One shouldn’t be able to order a frame which is not in stock.

Not overly impressed so I wouldn't use this company again in future.
Main reason for 2 stars is...

Only after chasing for a progress update was I told the frames I ordered were discontinued...very frustrating to see they are still online today for others to order only to be disappointed as well!

There was then a delay in getting the substitute frames.

Only after emailing first was I given any progress update.

If I wasn't in a rush for new glasses, I would have cancelled and order a pair elsewhere.

The two stars are given for good price and the company putting on a faster delivery due to the issues.

when I booked on this website, I did not receive a confirmation of my booking. The record I had was my payment record. After 2 weeks, I chased my delivery before I received confirmation of delivery. I definitely not shopping on this site - the anxiety of following up on your order is not worth the stress.

Ordered some glasses yesterday - no order confirmation
Tried calling - answerphone message said email
Tried emailing - this was rejected
Tried logging into my account - told me that my account was temporarily blocked

AWFUL - customer service

Significant delay after ordering, before I was informed that the glasses were out of stock. Complicated communication before order finally arrived.

A fantastic range of frames at great prices and an easy website to use. Slight criticism would be that they don't communicate quickly enough when you have a query or keep you updated. I shouldn't really be complaining though as my frames arrived about a week earlier than they stated. I just hadn't been told they were on their way.

Lovely glasses, great price. Would definitely use again. Only feedback I would make is that communication needs improving in my opinion. It took over a week for someone to respond to my email and I didn’t receive an order confirmation by email.
