We are now regular visitors to The Green Butcher, and it is great to have somewhere so fresh, so local. Always friendly, always a decent choice of meat, with different marinades of meat over the summer.

We recently visited on the Women's Rugby Final Day too where they put on an amazing BBQ as they do on Men's Days. DELISH chimichurri steak sandwiches!

Scandalous. We ordered £100 worth of meat a few days in advance and went to collect it on Saturday. All meat packs was packed in a paper bag. As I was leaving, a tall man behind the counter questioned me about how much I had paid for the chicken breast. He started picking through my shopping bag and discovered that the 2kg of chicken breast I had paid for was actually 2.12kg. He rudely claimed this was overweight and might ruin his business! I explained that I had ordered four pre-packed 500g portions, which were labeled as “500g approximate weight” see photo attached. Despite this, he insisted it wasn’t right, he cut open one of the packs, cut off and removed a 120g strip of chicken; he did all this with his bare hands, even though he had just been handling cash from other customers, no gloves while cutting, touching, or repacking the meat, we’ll be reporting this to FSA as well. Definitely not coming back, they lost our custom.

This is why I have come to rely on Trustpilot rather than google reviews, Green Street Buchers deserve a 2,5 rating. I asked the butcher for Spareribs (they don’t have spine attached to them) He held the ribs with the spine facing away from me, so I only found out that there is spine attached when I got home. Not only do you pay more for the extra bone but you can’t separate the ribs to prepare and eat them individually. Instead of the owner apologising that a mistake was made, the owner replied on google reviews that I could clearly see there was spine attached. Wow, so was he a fly on the wall to make that assumption. Why on earth would I ask for spareribs without spine, then ‘see’ there is spine attached and then still buy it without asking for a piece without spine?? The hygiene rating at this place is totally below par.
I will never buy from this place again.

Absolutely no response whatsoever when asking them health and safety questions about their chicken bone broth even after chasing them up more than once. I would never trust a company like this or ever buy my bone broth from them. Not even worth the one star for the non customer service experience. I’m sure however they’ll suddenly rediscover it in response to this in order to save face as it’s always the case with these people. Don’t believe a word of it.

Great to find an ethical local butcher, with friendly, helpful staff.

I've tried the whole chicken and green bacon - both delicious - and was particularly impressed with the frozen kidney and liver - easily the best I've had.

We cooked the liver straight from frozen, under a low-medium grill, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with asafoetida. It had been very thinly sliced, and was perfect.

We are complete converts to The Green Butcher - the quality of your meat is head and shoulders above anything else we have tried (including the well known organic meat delivery companies). We were particularly impressed with the quality of our Christmas meat. The Beef Wellington, ham and turkey crown were all top notch and (despite my cooking skills), we received v. positive comments by all! Nick and his team are excellent.

All of our purchases have been great. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I like the fact that they will deliver on their eco-bike. On Saturdays they do a barbeque which has proved very popular. Well worth a visit as Twickenham Brewery shop is located next door!

This is the second time I've ordered from The Green Butcher and I've been meaning to review it for quite a while, but somehow... Well, you know -- pandemic life! Anyway, this order was for a chicken joint to roast and, like their fillet, it was wonderful: it reminded me a lot of Sunday roasts at my grandparents' house in the New Forest. Chicken had much more flavour in those days (early 80s, since you ask) and this one tasted much like those ones. Brilliant service, delivered on time -- what else can I say? Thanks again to Nick & everyone else for providing the raw material for a great meal.

Have bought a few times from here now, Beef Wellington, Leg of lamb, been to their BBQ and I can not fault it at all, strongly recommend them. They really know their stuff

I have been very impressed with the quality of the meat and the personal service...it takes me back to the country butchers of my childhood. Animal welfare and husbandry is important to me. Knowing that animals have lived outside eating natural food reassures me. I recommend the mutton. The flavour and texture is perfect for slower cooking.
I also frequent the weekend barbecue .... delicious steaks and burgers

My first order was Easter leg of lamb. It was outstanding. Thank you. I’ll be back.

Nick and his team have a fantastic commitment to quality produce and are equally serious about being a part of the local infrastructure - brilliant, friendly and committed, great to see!

Excellent quality of meat, food products and service from Nick and the team. Have especially enjoyed the Mother's day and Valentines boxes which are very nice.

The meat and all accompanying sides were delicious. A great way to bring the restaurant experience home during the lockdown.
