Just got back from a 16 day Thailand…
Just got back from a 16 day Thailand holiday booked through Zack at travelpedia. The whole holiday other than a few trips we booked local was prebooked by zack. Flying from Manchester with Qatar Airways was easy and a comfortable flight. We did four different locations so knew it was going to be a busy holiday. First stop was Phuket, we stayed in patong which is an eye opener for busy roads we had 3 nights enjoying a busy city one highlight being Bangla road which is a must see, lady boys bar girls and lots more, did not feel harassed or unsafe at all, a polite no thanks works perfectly, another highlight was the night market full of street food at a great price, four of us eating chicking, pork, ribs and noodle with a couple of beers for less than £8 each.
Second stop was a tree house stay at the koh sok national park. The treehouse itself was a glass sided modern room with a bathroom where you could hear and see the local monkeys playing. We loved feeding and bathing the elephants on the first day, both lunch and dinner were included in this trip along with breakfast and lunch the next day on which we sailed on the barrier lake which was beautiful, the mountains coming out the water reminded me of the Norwegian fjords, after visiting some caves we had lunch on a floating restaurant from which you could kayak or swim off.
From there we had a bus and ferry trip to koh samui for 3 nights, this we used as a two day rest just beach, bar, pool, bar.
Next stop a short flight to Bangkok. We did a couple of trips booked ourselves (floating market and zoo)but here their is so much to see with the overhead train an easy (£1.50 a day ticket) means to get around that it's not really necessary.
Some transfers were organised for us some easier done yourself, taxis easily booked via grab or bolt Thai equivalent of uber.
Overall our party of four adults, all over 65, loved this trip which was very well planned for us by Zack at travelpedia who we will be using again

And sailing across Cheow Lan Lake with those dramatic limestone mountains rising from the water must have been something special.
We also love that you balanced the adventure with some proper relaxation time in Koh Samui before finishing up in vibrant Bangkok. It really does offer the best of everything. And we’re so pleased to hear your journey with Qatar Airways from Manchester was comfortable — always a great way to start a big trip.
Putting together a four-center holiday for a group is no small task, so it means a lot to hear that everything ran smoothly and suited you all. Zack will be absolutely delighted to read your kind words he really does put a lot of care into planning trips like this.

Bait and Switch Scammers- DO NOT USE
I've used this company over a year ago but recently they seem to have been either hacked or have some unsavoury characters working for them. I booked 5 days in Bucharest for me and my friend who could only get a few days off work which we explained. Travelpedia found us a deal and wanted a surcharge for using my credit card to pay a £500 deposit. This has been illegal in the UK since 2018. Anyway they waived this fee when I pointed it out.
A week later I get a note on Messenger saying my flight had been cancelled. The email provided was written in dodgy English grammar and couldn't possibly be from Ryanair. Travelpedia offered a more expensive and longer holiday with a time that didn't suit my friend or me. They then offered a flight from Liverpool when we live in Scotland. I pointed this out and said we would need to cancel as my friend couldn't go on those dates. Neither could we go from England. I then asked for my money back. They claimed the hotel they booked may have cancellation charges. I looked online and it had a 48 hour policy. 8 months notice is plenty of time. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing they said the only way I could get the money back was to supply my bank details, full address and a letter stating I wouldn't issue a charge back. Not dodgy at all! I told them they owed the credit card the money not me and they were legally obliged to pay that back using the same method it was given to them. Since then I keep getting messages telling me to bear with them and they'll be in touch at some stage. I've passed it over to the credit company's fraud investigation team.

We categorically reject the allegations made in your review and would like to correct several inaccuracies.
The flight was cancelled by Ryanair, not by Travelpedia. This cancellation was confirmed by the airline, and we can provide written evidence directly from Ryanair to support this. The airline reference was shared with you, and the flight status could have been verified directly with Ryanair through their official channels.
At no point did we refuse to issue a refund. From the outset, we confirmed that you were entitled to one following the cancellation. The only discussion related to the method of refund.
You repeatedly requested that the funds be returned immediately. In response to this urgency, we offered a same-day bank transfer as the fastest possible option to ensure you received the funds without delay. This option was suggested solely to accommodate your request for immediate access to the money. Card refunds—particularly to American Express—are subject to banking processing times and can take 48 hours or longer to reflect, which was clearly explained to you.
Our request for written confirmation was a standard precautionary measure. Unfortunately, we have previously experienced situations where refunds were issued and chargebacks were later raised for the same transaction. The request was made to ensure the refund was processed via a single method only and to prevent duplicate recovery, not to avoid our obligations.
We did not request information unnecessarily, nor did we attempt to withhold funds. Any suggestion that this process was improper or “dodgy” is incorrect.
Throughout our communication, we consistently confirmed that a refund would be processed. The delay arose due to ongoing disagreement over the refund method and the escalation of the matter before the standard card refund process could be completed.
We fully stand by our actions, have all supporting documentation on record, and are cooperating fully with the card provider’s investigation. We are confident that the facts will demonstrate that the claims made do not accurately reflect the situation.

We had a good holiday in Thailand but…
We had a good holiday in Thailand but it could so easily have been excellent. Only one of the hotel choices was spot on, the others were either poor hotels/rooms or not very good locations. Transfers and check-in times also let the side down. To me it seemed like a lack of local knowledge and there was also no support from a local agent in Thailand, we relied on WhatsApp!
As an example, for me resort transfers means just that, you get picked up at one hotel and dropped of at the next; it doesn't mean the ferry drops you on the beach, luggage and all, and leaves you to sort out getting to the hotel. I feel Travelpedia were deceitful about the transfers, our transfer vouchers didn't arrive until a couple of days into the holiday, only then did it become apparent that they weren't hotel to hotel transfers, they call them hotel to port.
We visited some fabulous places and for the sake of better local knowledge and being up-front about what was and wasn't included it could have been an amazing holiday.
We would visit Thailand again but won't be using Travelpedia again.
Follow-up.
I can confirm the Travelpedia did get in touch about our experiences and whilst it would have been better not to have to raise concerns they did listen and I feel genuinely take our concerns onboard.
Just a couple of points to clarify:-
Our hotel in Koh Samui was the best of the trip.
We did book some additional transfers after the trip had started, but it was the original transfer vouchers that didn't arrive until after our holiday had started and it was these vouchers that I was referring to in the initial review.

With regard to the hotels, we always review accommodation carefully before offering it to our customers. However, we fully understand your concerns regarding the room type, views, and locations—particularly in Koh Samui—and appreciate that these did not meet your expectations. Your comments reinforce the importance of strong local insight, and this is something we are actively working to improve.
The delay in providing the transfer vouchers occurred because the transfers were added to your booking at a later stage. While this explains the timing, we recognise that receiving this information earlier would have allowed for clearer expectations, and for that we apologise.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed Thailand overall and visited some truly wonderful places. As a gesture of goodwill and in recognition of the issues raised, we issued a £150 refund, which we hope goes some way toward acknowledging the shortcomings in your experience.
