Dishonest, disorganized, and misleading — avoid Tristar Online.

I ordered a Sony FX3 from Tristar Online via Kogan on March 21. The listing claimed “Stock in Australia” and “Australian Seller,” but the item was shipped from Hong Kong, making it a grey market product.

I corrected the shipping address right after ordering, and they confirmed it was updated. Later, I received an AusPost tracking number with no destination details. Eventually, it showed delivery to the wrong state. I contacted Tristar and was told the tracking was a mistake due to a “technical glitch” and was given a new DHL tracking number — which was also going to the original wrong address. They never actually updated it. I had to personally contact DHL to change the delivery address myself.

After all this, I asked to return the item. Tristar responded and clearly stated I could do a “hassle-free return” once it arrived. But after I received the package, they completely reversed their position, refusing the return on the basis that it was a “new replacement unit.”

This is a blatant bait-and-switch. Their customer service was inconsistent, misleading, and dismissive. If I hadn’t intervened, the package would’ve gone to the wrong address — twice.

Avoid Tristar Online at all costs. Kogan should seriously reconsider allowing them to operate on their platform.

I am having the same issue as many others have reported. Non stop lies and zero responsibility taken.
I purchased a faulty Roborock vac from the Big W Marketplace, they also take no responsibility for promoting this company on their website and offer very little assistance. They should be ashamed of themselves for promoting these online scammers.

The new laptop was used!!!!

The laptop was used, no longer charges and had dirty marks all over it and is logged in as Mohammad Sharf Ul Hasan when opened. This was meant to be a new laptop!!!! The company’s phone is diverting to voicemail. I purchased the product through Di ck Smith Online with ‘ Sold by Tristar’ listed as the seller. I can’t believe this company is allowed to trade like this! 100% dodgy!

Avoid Tristar Online Pty Ltd – Misleading Products and Poor Customer Support

I purchased a Roborock vacuum from Tristar Online Pty Ltd, and it has been a disaster. The product was faulty from day one, showing Error 27. Roborock later confirmed it might be counterfeit due to an unregistered serial number and missing features.

The seller insisted I return it at my own cost ($58.55) to a PO Box that can’t accept large parcels. When it was returned to me, they provided a prepaid label that didn’t even cover the item’s weight, leaving me stuck with a broken vacuum.

Despite Amazon stepping in multiple times, Tristar has delayed refunds and failed to honour warranty obligations. This matches other reviews of fake products, poor support, and endless delays.

Avoid this seller at all costs.

One of the best…

The Meta Quest 3s has one of the best performances I've ever seen. If you're looking to get into VR, this is the product for you. I've heard a lot of great reviews about this headset, and they’re definitely true. It's perfect for spending time online and hanging out with friends. Thanks for the timely delivery.

Seamless Experience: Great service

I am extremely impressed with both the delivery service and the customer service I received from this company. My order arrived right on schedule, well-packaged Which made the entire experience hassle free.

What truly stood out was the customer service. I had a few questions about my order, and the team was incredibly responsive, friendly and professional. I placed an order for a Roborock vacuum and I couldn't be more impressed! From the moment it was unboxed, such high quality and well designed product. What really stood out, however was the amazing delivery timeframe and customer service. My order was delayed but the customer service team reassured me with constant contact with the Australia Post office. The team was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Overall, I'm extremely happy with purchase and the entire experience.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Postal scam and fake items

I suspect tristaronline and Toongabbie LPO are engaged in mail fraud (given they are scanning the barcodes when they have no parcel). It took 4 weeks to hit the local disruptions centre (around 1km). There is also many reviews online where people are complaining about the same thing. Woolworth have also informed me the seller has been banned on their "marketplace" platform for this type of behaviour. Seller is a scammer, be warmed.

Lost order, bad service

If I could give zero stars, I would. My order mysteriously vanished into the abyss, and apparently so did any hope of proper customer service. After their so-called “thorough investigation” (aka shrugging and blaming Australia Post), they casually informed me the item was out of stock. No replacement—just a refund.

Here’s where it gets worse: this whole ordeal made me miss out on my Black Friday promotions, my cashback, and completely ruined my shopping experience. Why? Because they oversell their products and clearly have zero quality control over their partner merchants. They’ll happily take your money even if they can’t deliver the goods.

To add insult to injury, their refund process is overly complicated. Instead of a simple fix, I get a lecture on store credit and payment methods, followed by instructions to call another number if I dare request a refund any other way. Oh, and don’t bother replying to their email—your ticket is already closed! They’re done with you.

This app and its service are a joke. If my order was lost in transit, their customer service and business practices were lost at launch. Stay away unless you enjoy disappointment and empty promises.

CHEATS AND LIARS

CHEATS AND LIARS. They claim Australia Post have held my package for two weeks in a facility but Australia Post have never received the package nor has Tristar raised a case with them. They have stolen $499 from us and given us nothing. NEVER TRUST THEM!!!!

Tristar cancelling Shopback order

Just wanted to relay my experience with Tristar Online via the Woolworths Everyday Market.
I found out that you could get a Nintendo Switch OLED for $330A from commenters here: link to ozbargain removed.

TLDR – Tristar cancelled my “shipped” orders, making me miss out on the Black Friday sales opportunities.

During Black Friday, I found that Tristar were selling the Nintendo Switch OLED for a 33% off retail, via the Cashback program.
I purchased two Switch consoles (I only wanted one, but after Cashback did not “track” my first order, I tried again. I was able to get tracking to work on both items by messaging Cashback after the purchase.). Side note: Everyday Market doesn’t allow you to cancel orders, even if they haven’t shipped yet. You have to wait until you receive the order before sending it back for a refund. Just to clarify I’m not a scalper.
I then received tracking with Auspost for BOTH items. With the status, “We’ve got it”.

After waiting two weeks, the status did not change.
I contacted Tristar and they said they would investigate. The very next day (within 24hrs, and on a Saturday, no less) they reported that “both items are lost”, and they refunded my order. I asked that they fulfill at least one of my orders, but they ignored the request and issued refunds.

Annoyed because:
1/ The item was purchased during Black Friday, I am now unable to find a reasonably priced Switch, being less than 2 weeks out before Christmas.
2/ They are not out of stock. I can see on their website the exact item I ordered is in stock: link removed (Actually, $450, that is reasonably priced, but I can’t rightly purchase from these ppl now).
3/ I suspect they cancelled my order, without consultation, because they realised that the Shopback amount was attached to my order(s). This is just speculation, but don’t see any other reason.

I think the shipping label was printed, but never send.

I am a frequent buyer from here

I am a frequent buyer from here, they offer the best quality products at a lower price than the other sellers. My last order was in June, purchased a Robot vacuum at the best price and it's working absolutely well as it is supposed to. Excited for the Black Friday sales to purchase some new appliances.

Comfortably the worst online purchase…

Comfortably the worst online purchase experience I've ever had.
Bought a roborock through Big W's marketplace, it broke almost immediately, and have had the longest ongoing saga with Tristar to get a refund with them making up policies that aren't published such as calling it a "change of mind" and trying to dock a "20% change of mind" fee even though they acknowledged it was faulty, then a "10% restocking fee", then a $70 postage fee. Had to lodge a complaint with fair trading to get it resolved. Absolutely garbage experience and really surprised Big W lets them sell through their platform given the poor reviews.

Advertised on Catch with incorrect…

Advertised on Catch with incorrect pricing and tried to replace with lower quality model.

I paid for a Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra - Black on catch and was contacted the next day stating that the price was in error. They then stated that the do not have the black in stock (still advertisied) and tried to get me to pay $700 more for the cheaper white version or accept the Pro version not MaxV.
Advised numerous times I only wanted the BLACK S8 MaxV Ultra and could they at least beat the price I could get it for elsewhere and they refused.
The stated they have processed a refund but will wait and see how long before I get it in my account. Very disappointed. Wont deal with them again as appears dodgy trying to get lead by advertising at much cheaper price just to say it was wrong and then offer lower quality products, or request higher payment.

Scam

First off, try calling them right now. Despite their advertised online support hours I can guarantee you will not get an answer, nor a response via email or their online chat. Their online support barely exists, this makes getting a refund on the falsely advertised stuff they sell near impossible. I ordered a Steam Deck OLED, and received a used LCD model with games pre installed. They then got mad at me for contacting them during their advertised hours as the phone number just redirects to someone’s mobile number. They then tried convincing me the LCD was an OLED and would not admit fault, then continuously ignored me until I threatened an ombudsman.

This place is shady, even though Big W uses them as a provider for certain items i’d spend my money elsewhere with a better reputation and warranty.

this place is a scam.
