Got a very good deal

Got a very good deal. The beginning of this experience wasn’t what I was hoping for due to a missing spacer, so wasn’t able to ride the E bike, but they definitely went above and beyond to make sure I got taken care of five stars for sure. I just think something accidentally got misplaced when packaging things happen. I was literally gonna go and buy the spacer myself because it’s not that big of a deal but apparently they don’t even sell those spacers so they paid super 73 full price for a whole complete wheel assembly even though I only needed a five dollar spacer like I said they went above and beyond I would totally order through them again, and hundred percent, would recommend to other people and already have🫶🏻🥰👌🤙

So Glad I went for it.

The Bike arrived exactly as advertised, and it is a beauty. The price was so good, even my wife couldn't get mad at it. It operates like a dream. As a pedal assist ebike I no longer fear florida's prevailing winds. Riding at 16 to 18 mph right into them with minimal effort has opened up a new world of local exploration for me.

Might receive a bike that doesn’t work out of box

I ordered my bike under the impression that it only had a couple of miles on it and would be ready to go right out of the box. The delivery was fast and the packaging was great.

However, the issue I ran into was that the display screen would not turn on. I reached out to customer service, and while they responded quickly and provided some troubleshooting tips, nothing worked. Their next suggestion was to take it to an authorized retailer, which I did. The shop was about 20 miles from my house, and they were able to fix the issue, which turned out to be wiring problems under the seat.

The repair cost me $70, and while the Upway was fixed to reimburse, which I appreciate, it would have been nice if the company had offered better reimbursement for my time, gas, and the inconvenience. This was especially frustrating given that the bike was supposed to be ready to ride out of the box.

Again, customer service was responsive and helpful, so no complaints there. But overall, the experience was disappointing. I paid for a fully working bike and didn’t receive that, and I ended up spending about five hours dealing with the issue, along with additional gas expenses.

Easy, intuitive buying experience

The website is great: high-rez photos from every angle and detailed technical specs about the bikes. All of the information really gives you peace of mind about the bike you are buying. My eBike arrived quickly and packaged very well in an extremely sturdy box. Setup was easy. The bike is great and exactly as described (except for the number of battery cycles which was off slightly).

Great after-sale support

This was a very satisfactory purchase experience. My e-bike arrived with a damaged fork. While that was disappointing, Upway support worked hard to get me a replacement fork from the manufacturer quickly.

The only disappointment was that they missed their original delivery commitment by a substantial margin, so take the forecasted delivery date with a grain of salt. But once the bike finally arrives, they're great to deal with.

Great experience ordering online from Upway!

I am very happy with my purchase of a Gazelle Arroyo C8. The communication was timely and I received the bike a few days earlier than the projected delivery date. The shipping box included tools and instructions to adjust the handlebars and install the pedals. The battery was also fully charged, so I was able to ride right away. It is a beautiful bike! I was a bit apprehensive about buying from an online store, but it was great!

Gear train checks could be more thorough

The overall purchase process was smooth and the bike came quickly. Everything was as described. One issue is that the bike I bought was a 10 speed and all models have been 10 speeds ever since they started making it. It even says 10 speeds on the shifter. Upway listed it as 9 speeds and, indeed, it only could shift into 9 when it arrived. The derailleur was way out of adjustment and not working properly. This was not a big fix, but I'm curious why this slipped through Upway's checks. Surely they knew better than to just assume this was a 9 speed. It is almost like they didn't test it that well or didn't want to bother fixing it.

Good communication and answers to pre-sale questions. Great shipping, and the bike was easy to put together and the quality and condition of the bike were very accurate (and excellent).

Trouble with a 2024 Aventon Abound ebike from Upway

[This review was updated on 5/5/26.] I bought a secondhand (2024) Aventon Abound AG cargo e-bike from Upway in December 2025. The price seemed fair given the age, low mileage, etc. But when I received & assembled the e-bike, it would NOT power up. I contacted Upway right away. Their communication was good throughout the process I'm describing here. However Upway referred me to Aventon, the manufacturer, since it seemed like a mechanical problem. Upway promised to pay for any parts/repairs needed (assuming it would be fairly easy to get the bike going - which it turned out it wasn't).

This process was confusing because for a time I was messaging Aventon customer service to troubleshoot the problem with the bike, and had to wait for a part via mail. (I had to remove & replace the battery, test if it was charging correctly [it was], and send pics/videos to Aventon--then they mailed me a new display unit at no cost [the screen which goes on the handlebars].) All this caused a frustrating delay of about 1-2 weeks. And more important, this didn't fix the problem.

I could have returned the bike to Upway at this point - but it seemed easier to take it to a local dealer for repairs, which Upway promised to pay for. I live in Davis, CA, so the nearest dealer was a 30-minute drive away in Sacramento. This proved to be a hassle, because although Upway ultimately pay the repair/diagnostic bill (about $120) readily, I had to make two round-trips hauling the bike there and back on different days--easily 4 hours of my time including driving / loading / phone calls. It couldn't be fixed easily, so it was a BAD unit despite its relatively new age. I returned it to Upway about 5-6 weeks after I first got it. I also had to disassemble/package the bike.

Upway refunded the "old" bike and found me a newer Abound LR (2025) with only 3 miles on it to buy. And they gave me a break on the price, which seemed fair (although did not fully equalize the price of the new unit with the old to let it be an equal exchange).

Again, Upway's customer service & communication were good. But it was a confusing process, and the various steps wasted a lot of my time. The new bike is great, though, after 2 mo. of use. I've already ridden 450 miles!

My battery died after one 14 min ride

My battery died after one 14 min ride.
Communication has been great back and forth. I have received answers to battery questions on Saturdays. I realize these types of battery technical problems take time to resolve. I know my battery is on the way now and I’m still happy with my purchase. The technical info in their website really helps you select the bike you’re after so I still have been recommending Upway to friends. I’ll buy again for sure.

Transactions With Up Way

Transactions with UP WAY- George Baum
I finally decided to get a used E-Bike from Up Way near the end of March of 2026. Up Way responded to my questions quickly and processed the transaction quickly and delivered the bike quickly. Then I was not happy with the bike and UP Way handled a return and replacement quickly. I did miss not getting a manual for the bike model and I only received one key for the battery compartment. Finding a locksmith for extra keys has not been successful so far. I hesitate to mail it anywhere.
