A disaster

This company, and it's affiliate Simply Wines are a complete shower. I ordered 3 bottles of a particular whisky for a gift. The order came quickly enough but to my horror when opening the box I got a bottle of rum and two bottles of champagne. Emails and online chats to both companies produced total silence. Vine Whisperer have 4 phone numbers - one on the carrier label (response "this number is not valid") and three numbers online - one is not valid, another gave no reply and the third said its mailbox is full. A week gone by and nothing, zilch, done to put right the mistake. Next step is to report them to Trading Standards.

Incredible value and excellent service

I ordered on Friday morning around 0600hrs - my bottle was despatched before 1000hrs and was delivered early Saturday afternoon. Lots of confirmation emails. Price was excellent. I have ordered from their sister website before and communication wasn't as speedy but goods were always despatched as promised. Don't be put off by the negative reviews - this is a genuine business with good service.

BLOODY AWFUL

I've requested a VAT receipt 3 times and they don't respond. They are a rude and horrible to deal with company. Their business style has to be questionable with their total lack of personality. No Address, No telephone contact details. Are they scamming the Inland revenue by not offering a VAT receipt. Who knows.....

I would now give this company 0 stars…

I would now give this company 0 stars if that was an option. I have been chasing for a VAT for over a month. Ignorant and don't reply to emails. Pointed out to them the legal requirement to produce a VAT invoice on request and still no reply. Frankly, this has taken up way too much of my time and if you need an invoice to claim the VAT back AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Ghosted for 9 days. Suddenly responsive once I mentioned Trading Standards

Placed an order with Vine Whisperer (aka The Ministry of Drinks Ltd). Paid £88.45. Heard absolutely nothing for over nine days. No order confirmation, no dispatch info, no response to multiple contact attempts via their website.

When I finally sent a direct email threatening a chargeback and reporting them to Trading Standards, they miraculously responded within the hour. Not just once, but with two contradictory explanations for the failed order:

“The product was delisted and stock offloaded”

“There was an issue with your payment method”

Funny how neither of those things was communicated until I got assertive. Fortunately, the money was refunded, but only after I applied pressure.

If you enjoy mysterious silences, chasing your own orders and confusing after-the-fact justifications, you’ll love this place. Otherwise, I’d strongly suggest buying your wine elsewhere.

HONEST REVIEW

My favourite case of Champagne was delivered to DHL where I was able to make easy arrangements for collection. After reading angry feedback from other customers, I was initially dubious about placing order but decided to give it a try. It has worked out well for us and received timely updates along the way; so nothing but compliments to Vine Whisperer.

Positive experience

Positive experience. Ordered 12 bottles of a Te Mata NZ wine, not the easiest one wine to find in the UK. Great price - and delivered in 5 days, well packaged.

Ordered 6 bottles Chenin Blanc

Ordered 6 bottles Chenin Blanc, received 6 bottles of correct wine. Not the best company for keeping you informed so I made an enquiry on order status and got a response the same day, wine arrived as per estimate.
Maybe I got lucky?

Terrible Company - no notion of “Customer Experience”

Terrible Company - do not use.

Ordered 6 bottles of “Thousand Candles - Gathering Field - Pinot Noir” and was sent the wrong wine.

Informed the seller of the mistake and upon seeing the other reviews, informed Paypal (Who I had used to facilitate payment) of the error and a case was opened. Paypal advise first to try to resolve with the seller.

The seller, represented by “Jason” - initially offered to swap the Wine for the correct one ordered. I would have been satisfied by this outcome, and accepted.

A week later, Jason informed me that he had seen the Paypal case raised and as a result was withdrawing his offer of a swap. He then informed me to return the wine, expecting it to be at my own cost.

I have since escalated the case with Paypal and raised a chargeback to ensure my Consumer Rights are protected. If this does not lead to a satisfactory result, I will raise a claim through the Small Claims court.

Childish behaviour from the seller, who clearly doesn’t care about the Customer experience. I can tell from the package information that they essentially just Drop-ship from Jascots, so worth trying to go direct or find another reseller that is actually a viable business and not one run by someone who throws their toys out the pram when they have to deal with an issue of their own making.

Shambolic non existent customer service

This company is affiliated to Simplywinesdirect and Ministry of drinks.
I’ve previously not had issues but I ordered a case of wine including delivery £304.15. Same evening I got an email and I quote “We are sorry to advise but we have made a mistake with inventory, the Head High Chardonnay is currently OOS awaiting arrival from the US. We will fail your order and void your pending transaction as all our payments are deferred. We are extremely sorry for this misjudgement on our part.

I have now emailed 4 times about the cancellation/refund. No answer and no telephone number.
I’ve contacted my credit card company who advise if they collect the pending amount I will have to start a dispute.

I too was caught but then saved!!

I placed an order worth £189 online. No order confirmation came through, but money taken immediately, so that set the alarm bells off. I explored further and they have no Facebook page, or instagram to contact them via, a really bad sign. I emailed them 3 times, via their website, like others on here, I received no response. The deduction from my Credit card was by Simply wines. I trawled their website and exactly the same outcome, no FB, etc etc. I emailed there and no reply.
HOWEVER I did track down one of their senior staff on FB and messaged her directly.
UPDATE - My order surprisingly turned up 2 days later present and correct!!! Was it because of my FB interaction or did this company just honour my order but didnt bother to communicate in any respect? Such a shame if that's the case as it causes so much angst and breeds a lack of confidence. Because of this I wont use the company again but relieved to get my wine!

Avoid this company there are plenty of…

Avoid this company there are plenty of other good suppliers out there.
This company has no address or phone no. after ordering the order will go to Simply Wines under The Ministry of Drinks. You get no confirmation of order, you can contact them by email but will not get a reply & if your lucky you may receive your order some weeks later. But dont count on it.

Not reliable

Placed and submitted card payment details for an order and no progress or update, now over a week. Have sent a website request through the contact form, no contact. I doubt the legitimacy of this site.

Do not use this company:

I would say do not use this compant at all. I doubt their legitimacy.

I ordered a bottle of Whisky that with delivery cost over £100. The company delivered the incorrect bottle and have not returned my messages to sort out the issue.

I am happy to change or remove this review if they respond and sort out the issue.

In the mean time, I honestly siuggest you do not use this company

Didn’t honour full order.
I ordered 5 bottles of a product and they only sent 4.
The did amended my payment to reflect this change. However their website still shows 1 product as being in stock.
When I queried this I was informed they only had 4 but further supplies would arrive at end of the month. I then asked for a coupon for free delivery - so I can place another order - as I believe they are at fault for not honouring the full order but their happiness team are not replying to my emails and they haven’t sent me a voucher.

Hugely impressed !

Hugely impressed with this company! I live in the Antipodes and was ordering a gift for family in the UK. The experience was excellent from start to finish. I got constant email updates right up until the (very prompt) delivery, and the courier even emailed me to check someone would be home within a set time on delivery day, as they would not leave the parcel uncollected. At a time when parcels are often stolen, and considering the recipient lives on the top floor of an apartment block, this was service plus! (It's a pity more happy customers don't leave reviews to balance out the occasional negative experiences. )
