Took me to the wrong address

Took me to the wrong address. It dropped me off in the middle of downtown la and 3 in the morning 5 minutes from my actual destination. Had to call an uber just to get to my destination. Cant be trusted!!! Didnt even refund me or anything.

I was actually excited to try Waymo now…

I was actually excited to try Waymo now that it’s rolled out in Houston—but honestly, this has been a frustrating experience.
These cars are constantly driving through my neighborhood, yet apparently I’m not allowed to use the service because it’s “invitation only.” That makes zero sense from a customer perspective. How is it that others have access, but I can’t even get added?
I even reached out through chat and spoke with a manager. She was polite, but ultimately couldn’t help at all or provide any real solution. No timeline, no clarity—nothing. Couldn’t even add me to the waiting list.
It’s disappointing to see a service so visible and hyped, yet completely inaccessible to people who actually want to use it. For now, I’ll stick with Uber.

Waymo ain't ready for prime time -- nowhere close.

My wife, son, and I had theater tickets last Saturday 4/4 and decided to take a Waymo. We won't do that again.

Our dinner destination, Flora, was only 3 miles away, and the Waymo attempted to drop us off 3/4 of a mile from the restaurant in an obviously unsafe neighborhood. We contacted support -- located in the Philippines -- and were rerouted, and the support rep actually told us she would be INCREASING our fare because of a detour we never requested!! It's second attempt to drop us off was 1/2 mile from our destination, and it stopped at a location where it was unsafe to exit the car -- just a few feet off Allen Pkwy with cars speeding all around us, and it was blocking traffic where it stopped. Contacted support again and were rerouted again. In the meantime a downpour began. Its 3rd attempt to drop us off was 1/4 of a mile from our destination, so at this point we gave up and got out, but had to walk that distance in the pouring rain. We were also 1/2 hour late for our reservation after being trapped in that Waymo for 45 minutes.

I understand that the future of ride hailing is in autonomous cars. I get it. But Waymo is nowhere near ready to provide this service -- it is too inaccurate, unreliable, and most importantly, unsafe. It will be a long time before we'll be trying Waymo again.

I had the misfortune of using Waymo's…

I had the misfortune of using Waymo's autonomous ride-hailing service in Austin, Texas, and it was nothing short of a nightmare.

The vehicle malfunctioned during the ride, trapping me inside while traffic sped by on one of Austin's busiest roads. Despite my attempts to exit, the car refused to move and only unlocked after I insisted. This terrifying ordeal left me questioning the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles.

Additionally, I’ve heard reports from other passengers who experienced similar issues, including unexpected stops and difficulty navigating complex traffic situations. These incidents raise serious concerns about the readiness of autonomous vehicles for public use.

Given these experiences, I strongly advise against using Waymo's services in Austin. The risks far outweigh any convenience, and urgent improvements are needed before this service can be considered safe.
