not only did they over quote me for parts that i later found myself at less than half the price they were saying things needed replacing but ive since visited another garage and these parts are perfectly fine they are out to rip people off as was messing me around about a retest so eventually id have to pay again so gone elsewhere they also failed to notice my coil had completely snapped which could cause serious accident they are out to rip you off and take as much of your money as they can do not go here if you have a mercedes or anything like this or tattoos as they will try take you for all your worth
Taking advantage of a senior single lady
This garage may be under new management but from the reviews I have read below I don't believe much has changed - apart from a new TV in the very cold Reception/waiting room (the Receptionist, who they always referred to as 'she', was literally shivering).
I took my car in for an MOT and I feel they tried to take advantage of me as a senior lady on her own. First of all they failed my car saying all the disks and brake pads, front and rear, needed replacing and quoted me over £700 (£770 I think it was). When I challenged them on this they changed it to Front advisory and Rear need to be replaced immediately with a dangerous 'do not drive' notice which I believe was intended to panic me into agreeing to have the work done there. I was on the phone to my mechanic at home who also questionned this and who later did the work for me at a cost of £470 replacing all 4 disks and 4 brake pads for this sum. Although not entirely necessary I thought it prudent to replace the front at the same time.
I cannot recommend this garage and suggest you avoid - particularly if you are a single lady - and especially a senior.

Since Whites Autocentre has been taken over by new management, the service has become excellent. This is truly one of the best garages in Plymouth for accurate and honest car diagnostics.
They correctly diagnose issues without unnecessarily suggesting replacement of parts, unlike many other garages. Repairs are done properly and only when needed, which makes them very budget-friendly.
The owner, Pedro, is extremely professional, friendly, and trustworthy. They use high-quality diagnostic equipment, provide genuine MOTs, and supply good-quality spare parts at reasonable prices.
The mechanics are highly skilled and professional. I highly recommend Whites Autocentre Plymouth and look forward to a long-term relationship with Pedro and his team.

Unacceptable attitude to vehicle safety
Booked a Vehicle Safety Check under the Blue Light Card promotion. I gave it in at 09:00am and they called me back at 10:30am stating my car was "healthy" and had no problems. When I got home, I reviewed my dashcam. Halfway through the "inspection", you can hear a mechanic say "suspension is good, brakes arent great... im not going to do a proper check because theres no money coming in, its not worth it"
When I queried what had actually been inspected, I was told there was no report or checklist. I phoned up and spoke to "Ali" who brushed it off and laughed at me. "Why does it matter, it was free for you". Whether a job is free or paid, it should be currently done in the name of public safety. The inspection was free because of YOUR discount for NHS workers. Really shows your genuine support for the NHS.
Very concerning for a service advertised as a safety check. I’ve lost confidence in the garage and won’t be returning.

Avoid at all costs.
Took my car in on 17th September for a fuel pump replacement. It broke down again soon after because the wrong part was fitted. The garage changed ownership and the new owner collected my car on 7th October, promising the correct part was ordered and the work would be done.
6 weeks later – nothing had been done. No part ordered, no repair, just excuse after excuse.
As a Blue Badge holder, being without my car has severely affected my independence, yet the attitude and treatment I received was shocking. I overheard staff mocking and belittling me in the workshop because I chased for updates. When I finally spoke to the new owner, he talked over me, was rude, and when I asked him to let me speak, I was told to “f* off”** and he hung up.
When I arranged to recover my own car, they refused to hand over my keys and tried to charge £126 for work that was never done. Apparently the part that I paid for originally could also be missing from the car which is still to be confirmed by my new garage all in all I’m almost £900 out of pocket .
Completely unprofessional, dishonest and unacceptable. If this is how they treat customer I strongly advise staying away

My passenger door was locked & couldn't be opened from both handles which needed fixing and I requested a MOT.
Bad Points
- I was never phoned or contacted about a price.
- Their are scratch marks all up the inside of my passenger door.
- I was never contacted when my car was finished, I had to chase them up for an update after two weeks to find out it was ready.
- On the phone I asked if the MOT had been done as well... it hadn't. I was told if I came back the next day after 1400 it would be good to go. I was fine with that.
- Picking up my car the next day I found out they hadn't done the MOT, despite being told it would be done. They asked if I'd be happy to wait whilst they quickly got it done, which I was fine with.
- Driving off I found out they hadn't fixed the issue. I could open the door from the outside but not the inside. Despite just having an MOT done which they PASSED, it legally shouldn't as it was unsafe to drive.
- I dropped my car back into the garage first thing the next day, pissed off and was told they'd get it looked at.
- Collected my car fixed but a week later the passenger door handle is coming off because it wasn't fitted back on properly.
Won't be coming despite having a warranty because I simply don't trust them.

This garage is laughable if I could give them 0 stars I would! Brought my car in due to DPF warning lights and experiencing loss off power and expressed my concerns that I believed it was a DPF fault, they were certain it wasn’t the DPF and actually the EGR so I stupidly trusted them as I was sure a ‘mechanic’ should know what there doing surely? WRONG. Turns out they fitted the EGR valve dodgy with loose screws and bolts all in the wrong places not only they charged me £700+ for something that didn’t even need fixing in the first place but they fitted it wrong also. They kept my car in for 3 days with no contact or letting me know what was going on when they assured me it would be done in just a few hours, when I got it back 3 days later they assured me it was fixed and the warning lights had gone and had power back in my car turns out that couldn’t be further from the truth they had just cleared the lights to make it seem like it was fixed when it wasn’t. Staff were very rude and argumentative on the phone and caught them out lying multiple times. Have since taken it to another garage who did indeed tell me it was the DPF originally! Honestly wished I checked the reviews to this place before I booked it in as it would of saved me so much hassle
Poor service
Poor service. Had a clutch before Christmas. Thought click mechanic. The bill would be £940. Car would be pick up between 8am to 10am. Did turn up 3pm. I never got the car for 6 days. John makes excuses try saying was in the wrong. He try payment before car was finished.

I am so pleased I found a garage that I can trust. The staff are very friendly and experienced. I had major work done recently which I was delighted with cost and standard of workmanship and timings. 10/10
Unreliable
My van was booked for a health check to be carried out on Friday 2nd August 2024. I dropped the van off at 0800 & left my contact details with the member of staff, who was aware of the booking.
I had no updates or calls from the mechanic all day and none of my calls were answered. I attended the garage at approximately 16:30 and asked for an update and was told that they didn’t know if I was collecting the van that day or the Saturday, however they did not call me to ask that question. The van had not been moved from where I’d originally parked it and it was obvious that no work had been done to it.
The manager assured me it would be done first thing this morning (Saturday 3rd August) and they would call me to let me know it was ready for collection. I had no calls from them and at 11:30, I attended the garage again. This time the manager said it was their next job. I explained that the booking was for the health check to be done yesterday and he had assured me it would be the first job of the day. Having obviously been lied to, I respectfully asked for my key back and that I would seek a refund through ClickMechanic. The manager just said “ok sir”.
This complete waste of time has caused me a lot of unnecessary delay and I will never use this mechanic again.

Booked a service through Servicing Stop for a full service, including collection between 08.00 and 10.00 and delivery in the afternoon.
They never even turned up to correct and when I eventually got through they said they didn't have a driver. I agreed to rebook the following week, and as a courtesy to them said they could pick up the car at 07.30.
They didn't turn up, but I had a missed call at 07.38. I called back by 07.45 but they would not answer the phone. I emailed around 08.00 and then received a call back from the boss. He said they tried to call and I wouldn't answer so I have to bring the car in myself now. When I reminded him I had tried to call back multiple times he blamed Servicing Stop and that they didn't get the calls. I have since spoken to Servicing Stop and they have said the calls did go through to the garage.
He then got argumentative on the phone, said he was cancelling the service and hung up on me.

Secondly I am writing in response to the comment made by the owner after my son Rob left a review on my behalf.
The owner has stated underneath my sons review that it is a bogus review and he is not known to him.
Well John this is very strange as it was you who offered to give us a refund if he removed the review.
You were totally aware of who Rob was after you spoke to him !! It is NOT a bogus review and everything said was true.
Worst garage imaginable, customer service horrendous and the amount of lies told unbelievable. Do Not accuse my son of putting up a bogus review when you know the truth darn well.

Scammed my mother out of £260 quid and then tried to charge her an astonishing £800 to replace a part that didn’t need replacing.
Apparently offer a ‘mobile service’, arranged to come and collect the car twice and on both occasions they failed to show without explanation or contact.
Just told them not to bother fixing the car and said I’d take it somewhere else. The new garage I took it to were baffled at Whites trying to charge me £800 for a new part and charging me £260 for a ‘recognition’.
Don’t go here basically, you cant trust these people, they’re looking to make a quick buck out of vulnerable people. The manager/owner is the one that dealt with the situation and is quite frankly vile. Making excuses and providing the worst customer service ever.
