Just returned from Botswana Wildlife. My husband and I had an amazing adventure on this small group tour. All the accomodation was great. My favourites being the Bedouin Camp and the amazing Elephants Eye Lodge where the elephants came to camp each evening. The tented chalets were luxurious plus the chef was fabulous. The food at all places was very good and of a great standard. The guide and driver did a great job of looking after us. Highlights: the animals, the lodges, sunsets, sundowners, the food, and travelling companions, the laughs, the campfires, gin and tonics.
Karen at Bench was very knowledgeable and organised our flights and trip and was great in helping us decide which trip to do.
Don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it.

My wife and I recently did Highlights of East Africa, followed immediately by Historical Jordan, with Bench. Both tours were excellent! The organisation was first class and almost all the hotels were very good, with an interesting range of properties across both tours. The guides were very good indeed and the way the tours were managed on the ground was outstanding. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend Bench to anyone thinking of doing tours like this.
The only minor negative was the appallingly bad and inefficient service (in the restaurant and in Reception) at an otherwise beautiful property - the Sopa Lake Nakuru.

From start to finish our trip was incredible.
We are a family of 7 who travelled from Sydney to Johannesburg, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and a stop over in Dubai on the way home.
Julie from Bench Africa arranged everything, from flights, meet and greet, transfers and accomodation and every single detail was covered and ran like clock work.
All up we had 12 flights, some to very remote airstrips and without fail, there was always a smiling face at the other end to meet us and transfer us to the next destination.

In Zambia we were lucky enough to stay at Baines River Camp, this place is simply amazing. From the accomodation, the food, the staff, and of course our guide Weston, everything was 5 star.
Then onto to Tanzania, we stayed at Lemala Ngorongoro Camp and Sergengeti Wilderness Camp, both were beautiful with amazingly warm and friendly staff. Its hard to believe the facilities and food they provide in such remote settings but everything was so tasty and the tents were just perfect.
Last but not least we spent 2 nights at Karen Blixen Camp in Kenya - these tents are luxurious and very well appointed. The restaurant served up a fabulous selection of meals and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a little more commercialised than what we had experienced in the other locations, but we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to families.
Overall the entire trip was such an amazing experience for our whole family and I wouldn't change a thing.

Bench and Ultimate Safaris provided us with an incredibly memorable experience throughout Namibia. We were blessed with a fabulous guide, Tim who was not only extremely knowledgable but exceptionally caring, supportive, humorous and always put his 7 guests first. The accommodation was unbelievable. Every lodge was specifically designed to meld into the very diverse environments and never short of 4 star. The drives were long and hot but the geography was so different - from sandy and rocky deserts to seaside towns and animal laden reserves. Our safaris were spectacular. We saw so much that we'll never forget.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bench Africa. Everything they recommended was first class. Transfers were excellent as well. Bench Africa were receptive to all my requests and put together an itinerary that met all my needs. Best holiday of my life. Bench Africa are a very reputable company and would definitely book with them again.

Excellent advice and planning, good organisation of bookings, care throughout the trip and reliable local partners. We had a wonderful time. A potential debacle when airline SA Express was grounded without notice was managed with immediate rebookings before we were even aware of the problem. Well done!

A well-planned and executed trip with Bench Africa. From organising transfers to having the best drivers and guides to ensuring we saw the highlights of South Africa - everything was covered.
The accommodation was very luxurious and all dietary requirements were met with ease. I would highly recommend this trip to others thinking of taking the same trip!

Seamless safari experience. I would highly recommend this company. So professional and they are the experts on Africa, specialising in trips around the continent! It wasn't just the animals... it was the people.. and the experiences and the knowledge and those layers of detail that the average traveller is not privy to that made it such a fabulous experience.

At first we thought the cost was somewhat excessive but it was well worth every cent!
Our journey of 18 days, including Cape Town, Victoria Falls & 4 game reserves, required a lot of coordination and it was seamless from start to finish.
We experienced great food, service and lodgings and spectacular land & water game safaris .
Our outstanding guides & trackers ensured we viewed, at close quarters, all the BIG FIVE & much, much more.

We have nothing but the highest praise for Bench Africa. We have travelled to Africa with Bench twice and both times our itinerary has been very thoughtfully planned for us with exceptional insight as to what is available and what would best suit our needs. Both times we travelled independently but the supberb organsiation meant that we never felt alone even when tranferring flights within an airport, we were meet and assisted on to our next leg. Every detail had been considered. On our first trip we encountered some significant personal challenges that had nothing to do with Bench, however they provided us with amazing ongoing support for months after our return which went well beyond their responsibilies or obiligations. We will always remember the human element that defined their service to us. They are far more than just a travel company - they care for their clients.
We usually will book and plan our own adventures however Africa is a very complex and overwhelming in choice destination. It is not something we could arrange on our own. We are so grateful that we saw the advertisement for Bench in the paper. They made a our decision making much simplier.
We travelled to South Africa, Zimbazee, Botswana and Zambia. So if you are planning to go to Africa we would thoughly recommend using Bench.

Overall it was a very well run tour. The itinerary was good, although it was fairly challenging in the distance it covered but worth it in the end because of all the great things you get to see and do. There was a lot of travel time spent in the truck.

The guide and the driver (Jabu and Tham) were excellent, both very professional and knowledgeable. They worked very hard. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the food was good throughout.

The glaring weakness of the tour was the truck. It was not fit to transport 14 people over 5,600 kilometers. The suspension was terrible and this was really felt on the two thousand kilometers of dirt roads. It was cramped inside, the seats were uncomfortable and there was hardly any storage space inside the cabin. It was a constant source of aggravation for the tour group and I'm sure you will get the same feedback from everybody.

Apart from the truck a great tour.

Bench Africa was amazing, so much fun and it was planned sooo cool. Loved everything about it.

On my first visit to Bench Africa I was asked where I wanted to go, how much was my budget and how long I had to do it. The itinerary offered with a few tweaks was perfect. We had 4 weeks and I particularly wanted to spend time in Capetown, Namibia and Botswana and of course to see Victoria Falls. We wanted to see the countryside, landscape and of course as many of the animals as we could.
The accommodation was 3 - 4 star and excellent. It was diverse, no camp was alike, all were lovely and fitted into their environment in a suitable manner. The staff at the camps were knowledgable, friendly and wonderful ambassadors for their country. We felt privileged to be their guests. Our driver/guide on our 10day safari in Namibia was Peter who went above and beyond our expectations. We loved the”Magic Box” picnics and sundowners. He epitomized all that good and wonderful about Namibia. Thank you Ultimate Safaris and in particular Peter.

Who could not be impressed by Victoria Falls in flood. Wow! Yes we did get drenched. Spectacular!
Chobe Water Villas - take me back any time - a wonderful place to stay. Thank you Ephraim and Gilbert - our boat driver who took us back and forth across the river each day to visit Chobe NP. Culture - our guide - who made sure we saw the lions -thank you.

Gunns Camp - each day the water was flowing into the delta channels - fantastic to see the water rising and understand its life giving properties. Thank you BT an amazing guide and his offsider Jonah.
Finally Machaba - Khwai region of the delta and totally different. Game drives - leopards, wild dogs and more. A well run camp - thank you Richard and the team. Our guide each day BD, so knowledgeable, friendly and quite the rally driver.

We recently travelled on the Southern Experience trip with Jenman from Zimbabwe ( Victoria Falls) through Botswana and Namibia to South Africa ( Capetown). It was an excellent 24 day trip and a wonderful experience. Each day was a new sensation.Our guides were excellent, knowledgeable, caring, and communicated well with all guests. Two areas I can see for improvement would be to have a welcome letter at the hotel in Vic Falls explaining where and when to meet for the 'welcome cruise' and the orientation meeting. We missed the Zambezi cruise as the hotel could give us no information about it, and we were out visiting the Falls when our guide tried to contact us at the hotel. We also missed the start of the welcome meeting as we were unable to find the group ( we did sit in briefly on another Jenman tour group meeting before realising we were in the wrong place)! They were two small hiccups at the start. Also our bus/truck transport (Fuso truck) was a bit uncomfortable at times especially up the back after a window shook loose early in the trip. The guides tried to get it repaired en route but weren't able to, and the window had to remain tied shut with twine. Could get a bit hot in that seat! Our accommodation on the trip was lovely and very luxurious in some places. The food was great and the pace of the trip was suitable for the distance we travelled. Apart from the small inconveniences noted above, and a bit of discomfort, the trip was magnificent and I look forward to returning to Africa to experience more of the country, culture and wildlife in the future. I've rated this trip as four stars, but would like to give it four and a half!

The Kruger excursion was not worthwhile doing. The game park experience was fantastic!

Bench Africa put together a great itinerary for our land travels after departing a cruise in Cape Town. The V & A hotel in Cape Town was beautiful and in a great location close to shops and lots of street music and nice cafes.
Our safari in Chisomo Private Game Reserve on the outskirts of Kruger National Park was terrific. We saw so many animals. All the Big 5 and lots more. We were collected one morning for a day in Kruger which also brought viewings of the Big 5 and many more animals and birds.
We were particularly happy that Bench arranged a trip into the Blyde Canyon, one of the largest in the world and amongst the most magnificent mountains. We were the last tourists to go into the canyon as it was about to close for 3 months while a TV series was being filmed.
All our arrangements went like clockwork. We were met and looked after by the loveliest people everywhere we travelled.

The English itinerary was different from the Australian and Italian one so Ilios and the guide needed to negotiate with us over what we were going to see and do.
Accom at Perry's Bridge, Ghost Mountain and Hunter's Lodge was exceptional; the Radisson Blu and Southern Sun were just OK.
Stellenbosch was ok but a longer time in Franschok would have been better.
Group was a good size for touring.
The meal at Hunter's Lodge was terrific.
Overall, a good experience but it was fairly expensive.
A great country to visit.
