All services contact with your staff were excellent. Except the reception staff at Eltham may need more training how to liaise healthwise clients to BETTER services.

I have been using the Eltham Leisure centre since the late Spring of 2023.

I use the facility to go swimming.

The floor of the wet changing area is uniformly black with dirt, with a strange tide mark around the edges, which suggests that the floor is hosed down from time to time.

The showers are dirty and the water usually only tepid when not cold.

The floor under the urnials is wet and stained with I presume urine.

There is an area of the wet changing room which connects with the rest of the changing area and foyer. It is necessary to cross this area barefoot to get to and from the pool.

This space is used as a spectators' area by parents of young children having swimming lessons. Nobody changes their shoes or uses the plastic over-shoes provided. The area is completely black with filth.

The pool is very cold and it is necessary to keep swimming all of the time. The floor around the pool was quite clean. More recently it is possible to notice sloughed skin in the tiny ridges of the tiles which has gone black with dirt. It looks revolting.

A very simple cleaning routine where on-duty staff each clean a small area would resolve all of these problems. I have never seen the centre as-described as ever looking clean, nor have I seen anybody cleaning. The mangement and cleaning technique/training are to blame.

I did contact GLL with my remarks in October 2023. My message was acknowledged but nothing further done about the issues.

I have stopped using the centre as it is far too dirty. My observations are corroborated by many other online reviews.

All of my remarks to and about GLL remain my intellectual property and no person or organisation is permitted to use them. I mention this because nearly a decade ago another local leisure trust used my remarks in a PR campaign, selectively quoted to make them look like I was saying something positive.

The variety of gym equipment is very limited On my last visit yesterday morning, there was no visible presence of a member of staff which to my mind is a serious safety issue. Also the drinking water taps are faulty and there was no paper towel rail in the dispenser. I am now considering using an alternative service and would certainly not recommend your facilities

Adult Swimming lessons. Changing room is clean and pool side staff are visible and vigilant.
