how can you charge £19 for a dirty squash court ? wholesale energy prices are below the level of 5 years ago in nominal terms and none of your staff have had pay rises in line with these price rises.

The price increase is an annual occurrence that reflects economic inflation. As a charitable social enterprise, any money we make goes back into the business. This can be in the form of training our staff, improving our centres and services and supporting athletes through our GLL Sports Foundation.
Further to this we have to look at the long term viability of the centre. With increasing utility and other operational costs we have had to make the decision to increase all membership fees by a minimal amount, to ensure the survival of the centre and that we are able to support the community for years to come.
We offer discounted memberships for seniors, those on benefits, students, key workers and customers who are registered disabled. As well as GP referral memberships. Moved by the plight of the refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, we set up a scheme offering all refugees in England and Wales free membership to leisure centres, gyms and pools for a six-month period. To date, we have set-up more than 5,000 memberships. This continues to be available to anyone granted refugee resettlement status in the last twelve months.
Most recently we have launched the warm spaces initiative where we provide a warm space for members of the public to have a safe area where they can get out of the cold, grab a cup of coffee and socialise. We also recently refurbished the Leatherhead and Southgate Leisure Centre with brand-new gym equipment and updated amenities.
