Inaccurate assessments of children’s swimming progress
My child is failing to be adequately assessed during their swimming lessons in order to progress through the skills and next levels. As parents we sit and continuously observe our child in the pool, yet their online record then fails to reflect the completion of skills and distance achieved. Our child can swim 250m plus with good front crawl, breast stroke, back stroke, but Kendal Better Leisure allege they can only do between 15m and 25m.
Concerns raised by numerous parents and we all feel it is to drag lessons out so we pay more and keep returning. One parent has now removed their child on account of the dishonesty.
On account of this, we had our own child independent assessed at another swim schools using the same criterion as Better Leisure. Low and behold, they were 75% more advanced than according to the swim instructor at Kendal Better Leisure. Once we find a swim slot at another club, we will also leave Better Leisure.

Disorganised shambles with useless staff
Most disorganised shambles of a leisure centre with completely useless unhelpful staff.
Attended for a swimming gala. Came out to find staff had instructed other cars to block us in. Refused to make any announcement to get people to move their cars. Sent a member of staff up to look who refused to do anything.
Then after 40 minutes of waiting the people came out and moved their cars, but it then took another 30 minutes to get off the car park as the same useless staff that had caused the problem kept letting others that hadn't been already waiting due to their incompetence out first.
Utterly pathetic and hope I never have to visit again as staff do not care about customers and cause problems.

Totally frustrated
Only joined a week ago and finding it impossible to get on the App at 10pm! I se an alarm and have my finger hovering over the App but it just buffers continuously and when it does connect all the classes are booked. No one at my Leisure Centre seems to have an answer and I am quickly losing patience. I have had to pay to rejoin , even though I had to leave last time for medical reasons and my monthly fee is carefully budgeted for. Therefore it seems a waste of money if I can’t book classes? The whole system needs sorting and obviously more classes needed to deal with your disappointed and frustrated customers. I have talked to many members and they all experience the same frustration? Please look at your booking system as it is clearly not fit for purpose?

Thanks for your review.
In regards to the booking system, we do understand that it can be frustrating, but as a member you do have access to 7 days in advance booking and non-members only get 5 days. If the class is popular it may get booked up quite quickly and this will sometimes result in the system crashing if everyone jumps on at the same time - which we are working on.
We also have a penalty fee system where customers who book and don't show up get charged a penalty fee, to discourage customers from booking on and not attending.
I understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for but we do value your feedback and I would like to thank you for raising these points with us.
