I use this service every 2 years. For people who can’t afford the money upfront for a new bike it’s an amazing way to get one. Pay monthly directly out of your wages you don’t notice it’s gone. I would highly recommend. And depending on your employer I had my voucher within 4 days of applying.

I still haven't bought a bike
I still haven't bought a bike. By the time my voucher came through the bike I wanted to purchase was no longer on sale so I'm left with a voucher and still looking for something to spend it on. Also stores won't honour their online prices for the scheme which is frustrating.
On top of this there are 2 schemes (Cycle 2 work and Bike 2 work) which are exactly the same but some stores are only affiliated to one or the other which makes finding a bike even more difficult.

It went OK
It went OK. I found there were too many confusing stages to the processes. If you want to change the Store name you pretty much have to start again. This means that if you looking at special offers across multiple stores, it get’s quite stressful. Why you need the store name on the voucher I don’t actually understand.

Bike 2 Work Scheme is simple
Setting up the scheme was a simple process that only took a week from start to collecting my new bike from the shop.
I was quite surprised to learn from the bike shop that they are charged a commission for being part of the Bike2Work scheme. Why can't this be paid by the government or HMRC.
