Avoid at all costs - empty promises
I signed up for BuildZoom’s Premium service, filled with optimism for my home design project. Unfortunately, that optimism quickly turned into frustration. Despite their claims of active engagement and expert guidance, BuildZoom failed to deliver on their promises.
From the start, the “active management” I had contracted for never materialized, leaving me to navigate every aspect of the design on my own. The feedback and guidance I expected never materialized. Instead, I received generic responses that offered little more than what I could find through a quick internet search. Pricing feedback was equally disappointing—just broad ranges without any meaningful analysis.
My project was reassigned to four different associate project managers and two project managers over the course of 15 months. The first project manager barely engaged, with only one meeting and one email in ten months. When a new manager was assigned, he left the company six months later without ever making contact, and BuildZoom didn't bother to replace him.
My experience with BuildZoom was a total waste of time and money, with "services" that bordered on fraudulent. If you're considering a home design or renovation project, save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and wasted resources that come with BuildZoom's empty promises. Your project deserves better than what this company has to offer.

You were assigned both a project manager and an associate project manager throughout. In a client’s BuildZoom profile, we transparently showcase all logs of work that our team completes on their behalf. We do this in an effort to be transparent about the degree of work and effort our team puts into each project. All work performed by our team was logged in your BuildZoom account. We apologize for any confusion caused by team changes. Our project managers work as a unit, ensuring continuous support, but we understand how transitions can be frustrating. As the project did not reach the contractor bid management phase, no competitive pricing analysis or invoices were issued.
Based on our internal investigation, you received all the services that were committed to you. However, as we said previously, we regret to see that you’re dissatisfied with the services. We have been in touch with you internally and externally regarding your concerns and options for a path forward. We wish you the best of luck on your project!
Great Contractor, Miserable Experience with the Website
Signing up for build zoom resulted in a lot of spam from people scraping data from your website. I went to change my email address as a result, and this caused me to not be able to get in touch with my contractor since all communications with contractors are routed through build zoom.
You also give me no option to opt out of cookies/data tracking, and instead that message about accepting it takes up most of the screen on phone, making your website almost unusable.
So while I’m glad I found a great contractor through this site, everything else about the experience of using build zoom was pretty miserable.

2nd bathroom renovation
This is our 2nd bathroom renovation using Abbott Plumbing. Sean is efficient, punctual and explained issues that popped up in our 1958 home. Thankfully Sean had extra parts to repair unforseen problems. Very happy with workmanship and highly recommend using Abbott Plumbing.

Buildzoom located a contractor
Buildzoom helped us locate a tile installer we would otherwise not have found. In fact, they provided multiple names each with their credentials such as whether they were licensed or not and what to look for or ask when hiring.

Checkmate construction is a wonderful co. To work with they are efficient clean responsible. We had our siding replaced and deck railing replaced. The job was done as stated and on time. The company associates are friendly, do an excellent job with out someone watching over them making sure they doing the job correctly. I recommend this co to do anything you want done
