Paid for a service I didn't get
Paid £35 extra to pick my room at Bognor Regis but because of a glitch I didn't get the room I'd chosen. I requested a refund from Butlins, but Butlins said "NO" So Butlins! Me and my family say "NO to Butlins" that was the last time we book a rip off Butlins holiday.
Shambles of a weekend, don't bother going.
Tired, rundown, shambles.
Had a whole weekend of mistakes on their part, place was over-subscribed, the worst was waiting 45 minutes in a pub to eat to be told it would be an hour wait for food, but we hadn't even been served yet. Not able to book tables. Breakfast served late. 30 minute long queues for the pool at the quiet time of day.
I also complained after we left and after a thoroush investigaion claimed they can do nothing for me other than to offer a future discount. Tbf they could have solved this with refunding our meal plan and a future discount, but I can tell you now they'll never receive another penny from me. Off to leave more deserved bad reviews.
Single occupancy.
I am a 64 year old male and am a gold premier member with Butlins. I have been to the various resorts many times in the past 40 years (alone and with my family) On my last visit to the Bognor Regis resort my son whom was booked to accompany me could not attend at the last minute. When I arrived to check in the supervisor in the Ocean hotel on site informed me that I was not permitted on the camp because I was a single male and I would be a danger to other residents. I wasevicted from the site and left stranded 200 miles from home with a return train ticket which was not valid untill four days time. all of this occured in full earshot of queuing customers and was basically accused of being a sex offender/paedophile.

Butlin’s at Minehead have removed all the luggage trolleys. Pretty stupid really, given the fact the car parks are quite a distance from the rooms on this site. The entertainment is being let down by pretty poor sound technicians, and the entertainment is pretty sparse this year anyway. Everything seems to be really expensive, which must make it difficult for mum dad and two kids. Sadly, I think the Butlin’s experience has had its day. No matter how many people they hire to partake in advertising and telling of their fantastic trip, the fact is, when on site, it’s just crap.
Terrible customer service
Tried to take the person I care for for a day trip at Bogner Regis Butlins. Was told they no longer accept letter of high rate PIP as evidence and that I must be in receipt of Carer's Allowance. When I said that doesn't seem right and it doesn't say anything about that on their website, I was told very rudely that I should have emailed to check if they'd changed it. They seemed very agitated and up for an argument so I said okay and started to walk away. She then started shouting that I was upsetting the person I care for. I said it was her that said we couldn't have tickets. She denied this, so I said okay, can I get tickets, then? She then just continued to state repeatedly that I was upsetting the person I care for. In the end I realised she was just up for arguing and wasn't going to stop, so I left. When I made a complaint, stating it was an attempted day trip, they replied 'Our team work by a 'solve on site' policy and if they are made aware of any concerns they will always do their best to resolve these. Our Guest Services team are your care team while on your stay, they can be contacted via phone/live chat and are available until 9pm on arrival day and 5pm all other days.'
When I pointed out this response was irrelevant to my complaint. They just said I should have asked to speak to a manager at the time. Couldn't have made it clearer that they don't give two shits.

Where do I start Butlins Skegness is by far the dirtiest place I have ever stayed, previous guests dirty socks and underwear left in the bedroom, poo stains in the toilet, green snots on the bedding, carpets never seen a vacuum in however many weeks, rubbish bin thick of dirt, mould on the windows, oven filthy but we couldn’t use it even if we wanted as it had no shelves. Don’t even waste your time complaining as they have no customer service

Every holiday I have had at Butlins has been enjoyable and great value. The staff are always on hand and very helpful, especially if you have disabilities.
In all the years of going there, I only complained once about access, and they solved it in less than 24 hours, and gave us some vouchers for our next holiday.
Avoid Bognor Butlin’s
Dirty place awful food money grabbing don’t care for there customers. The deck dining just awful repeatedly pork roast on menu.Dirty dishes everywhere tables not cleaned.The toilets in the deck was so bad you couldn’t use them . I wonder how many stars they have it was a dirty disgusting place
OVERCHARGING
Yet again booked to go to butlins last year our friends circumstances had changed so couldnt come. wanted to change out booking to add more people onto our booking and are being told its £100 more than the website price due to us booking it last year so will pay last years price!!!
so for booking early now means we are being OVERCHARGED!!! all because my son wants to go with his friends so he can have a nice time
i guess never book onsite or early is the way forwards!!

Really dated blood stained curtains and my cousin next door got flooded 4 floors up and reception didn’t apologies and wrapped a towel under the door !
No offer of a move.main centre stage and hotshots filthy ,carpet a trip hazard and the toilets smelt so bad they kept the doors open as too overpowering to walk into !
Stayed 3 years ago and the cleanliness was much better ,for £500 for a weekend away rooms are shocking ! Not sure we will ever go back now as just felt so dirty everywhere but £15 million on play experience (which is excellent )but come on butlins get basics right at least as the lack TLC is so obvious
BED BUGS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
We booked with Butlins bogner regis and our apartment was disgusting. After sleeping in a double bed I sustained horrendous bed bug bites which ruined our holiday.
The staff were very unhelpful and deny any parasite infestation even though I have had these bites looked at by a medical professional since returning home and they confirmed the bites I sustained were definitely from bed bugs.
Every time I got into the bed I sustained further bites so I cut my stay short and left as the resort would not acknowledge the problem and blamed it on the outside environment (insects/nats)
I hope my review prevents this happening to anyone else. I have attached photos of the bed bug bites, what they looked like at the time of my stay and how they have worsened since leaving the resort. This is the first time I have ever been bitten by bed bugs, I had no clue what had bitten me and I was so scared, thankfully I could get answers from my doctor and get appropriate treatment before they become infected further.
Butlins Skegness
Dreadful holiday. Booked a gold apartment, upon arrival it was in a terrible state, cupboard doors hanging off, poor decor, sofa was so badly stained we had to put a towel down to even sit on it and bathroom floor was covered in make up and sand. Booked all inclusive however there were so few staff in the bars (and those there were could considered surly at best, some were downright rude) it took forever to get served, also everything closes by 11pm. All the shows were completely booked out before we even got there and there is absolutely nothing for adults to do. Food courts were messy and food was very slow to be replaced. We ended up leaving a day early as we had had enough. Would never consider Butlins for a holiday in the future.

We have just come back for the worst holiday we’ve ever had at Bognor Regis. where do I start when we arrived? Our Blue Badge space was quite far away from our room so I had an MS attack getting there because there is no help with your luggage regardless how to say what you actually are when we get to the room there was massive red stains all over the carpet. My daughter is autistic and didn’t want to stay there at all. She started freaking out so they moved us to the hotel which was nice enough but the kids are very noisy running up and down in the holes of the Hotel in the morning at 6 am. We got building work right next door every morning we decided to go and have a meal at one of the restaurants at Buccaneer Inn told that we had to use the B serve app which we did waited two hours to be fed. No one came so once I complained they told me that the items I had ordered on the app wasn’t available at Bognor Regis and I wasn’t going to get it. If I would like to place another order. I could do that like you’re going to do that when you’re both autistic and you’ve been sat in a restaurant for two hours losing your temper because you haven’t been fed then I decided to go to the chip shop to have something and then realise that they closed at 8 o’clock in the evenings. What is the point in that? So I went to bed hungry because there was nothing open. It’s like everything seems to shut down as soon as it gets to like 8 o’clock. It’s ridiculous. Never heard of such a thing then I bought some tokens to use in the experience but my daughter went to have a look. She decided it wasn’t clean enough for her with her ASD so we decided to try and get our money back on the tokens we had purchased but you could do it on the app you couldn’t do it on on the site. I was told I have to ring up and file a complaint. The guy said he would ring me back today when we left. He didn’t do that so I’m guessing I’m gonna have to try and chase it up on Monday to speak to him or file a complaint on the email…. The venues for the entertainment are very far and few between half of them were closed. Most of the ones that were open were full so you could not get a seat anyway most people would move the tables and chairs so they had their desired 30 spaces with people on them so you really couldn’t get a look in the sweet shop has been closed down so you couldn’t even get any sweets. You couldn’t get any pastries because they didn’t have a designated pastry shop like they have in minehead.. we normally go to minehead every year and have done for over 45 years. This is the only second time I’ve been to Bognor Regis. The first time was a disaster I should’ve learnt but I’ve left it 15 years and thought I’d give it a go so this is the second time I’ve been and it was the worst. I would never go back to that Pacific resort the people are not a very friendly they’re not very helpful and it’s not a very clean.

SHOCKING the place is discusting,vile and a complete rip off , it's all about the add ons ,
Arcade money making machines , the fair that has 5 rides . Rides that don't benefit my 14 year old .
Go karts , £7 each what a joke .
The food ? Better off eating the stuff the sea gulls drop out of there back sides.

The carpets in our accommodation was like a scene from the shinning, was half expecting jack Nicholson to appear from one of the bedrooms , blood stains and just grime .
The entertainment was terrible , it's currently peak time and the bars shut at 8 in the evening .
Went to the bar in the caravan park section and it was also shut at 8 in the evening.
The main tent is literally held together by duck tape , again dirty and simply discusting, bowling , again with the price of the holiday itself you would think the price would be reasonable, again £50 for one game for five of us .
The entertainment is dreadful for a reason , to push parents to spend money eles we're such as the rigged arcade , the most expensive bowling allys in the country , or to pay for a few laps around the go kart track .
I remember butlins used to be quite a fun place to go , these days I would rather push drawing pins into my eye balls

Do not waste a penny .

Our Holiday In Minehead
We arrived at Butlins Minehead on the 23rd of May 2025 for a 7 day holiday. Firstly let me point out that we have been going to Butlins most years for over 20 years to Minehead every time. We have always enjoyed Butlins and apart from a few issues always been very pleased. However that changed this year. Having got our keycard we entered our room and we had to do a fare bit of cleaning before unloading our suit cases the room was very dusty. The fire in the living quarters was really badly stained the bedroom door had sharpe bits of wood hanging off the door where it looked liked someone had smashed the door open. However we did not want to make a fuss so we left if for now. We had the dining package to eat from Ocean Drive Restraunt. On the hole the food was disgusting it was undercooked veg over cooked meat and very luke warm. The management of the dining hall was terrible. Half the hall was sectioned off with the half that was open having doors open blowing wind in across the food making it even colder. We all crammed in to the one half often finding it hard to find a table to eat at. We arrived on the Friday and come Tuesday morning we went for breakfast it was stone cold again half the dinning room sectioned off. A gale blowing through and difficult to find a table. I had had enough and demanded to to see the Manger. Basically you could tell straight away she was very put out me asking for her. I tried to explain to her my complaint she just did not want to know and was very rude to me, she raised her voice so I gave the same back I always treat people the same as they treat me. She just tried to keep making excuses in the end we got up and walked out. I immediately phoned guest services and spoke to a very pleasant young lady named Chole who listened to my concerns and also as I had her on the line also expressed my concerns about the accommodation. Chloe was fantastic she got the accommodation manger to come and see me and she also got us a refund for the rest of the week on the food. 5stars to Chloe pity Butlins don`t have more like her. After a little while the accommodations manger came and saw me and again a smashing chap and he got the issues sorted very quickly. We then for the rest of the week dined at the fish and chip shop and the beachcomber. I have to say the fish and chip shop was fantastic red hot food which was also looked good and tasted good the beachcomber was also the same. In fact I will say of my 60 plus years on this planet the chippy was the best I had ever had. Butlins however as for me lost some of its pizazz there have obviously been cutbacks and lots of changes over the 20 odd years we have been going don`t seem so much entertainment far fewer redcoats and changes to how you get in venues such as reds and the stage both now you have to pay extra to be let in earlier. We used to love both these venues but this year we just could not get a table in either two and as I am disabled using a mobility scooter that made it impossible.. Over the last 2 years they have had a big new entertainment venue we have yet to get in as again to late for booking. The resort as had work done to the accommodation but it still looks very shabby in places. On the whole we had a great time but Butlins as gone downhill since we first started going all those years ago. Not sure weather we will be going back next year we will just have to wait and see how we feel

I have to give one star to do a review its not even worth that. Accommodation not fit for purpose ,dirty smelly ECT ,had all exclusive package not worth the money ,didn't have all drink available had to queue for over 20 mins a time only to staff to serve .restaurant was ok apart from they ran out of food had to keep asking for food not very hot , the shows you booked to find out when you good there nobody checked so anyone went it so not enough seats available . If you have children over about 10 ,the things they want to do are extra cost from £7 to £15 and time , cast is £2000.00 to stay there and probably another 200 for paid activities.I would not recommended any of to go it's just a money making machine . Think they need to get building inspector in to make sure accommodation is safe ,the electric sockets were not safe sockets are loose we stayed in the keys .

Awful filthy room full of dust stained carpets black mould everywhere in bathroom marked walls very dated furniture cracked woodwork everywhere rusted radiators uncomfortable beds. Terrible customer service. Wouldn't move us. Just logged the jobs and said someone will ring you. No one cleaned it while we were there. Skegness is so run down not enough staff. Public toilets everywhere at shows and skyline were disgusting also. App played up couldn't book shows. Firehouse grill is lovely in Minehead has awful meal in there . Had a voucher for this place as we complained about all inclusive food and the grill wasn't working . Just a complete nightmare. Tables n floor all so dirty every time we sat for a show .Never return. We ll be sticking to Minehead.
