Motorcycle Service
I had my GSXR serviced and a number of faults found / resolved by the Newport branch workshop (Mechanic: Jay). A really excellent and knowledge team that try their best to meet and exceed expectations. Great see a business that still focuses on the customer. Highly recommended and will be using their workshop in future.
Many thanks to Jay and Mike (Service Manager).
Tried to silence my google review - Sorry you're exposed
Tried to silence my google review - putting on here now- I’ve had 3 previous positive experiences with CMC where servicing and communication were handled well (aside from some miscommunications). I’ve also experienced rushed or poor customer service on the phone multiples when busy CBA.
Unfortunately, my recent visit changed everything. I brought my bike in after clearly explaining I only wanted a parts and labour quote. I already knew what was wrong and stated I didn’t want a service—just a quote. I also said I’d repair the bike before MOT to avoid advisories. They said they’d do a “pre-MOT inspection” and then contact me with pricing on parts and labour - to leave the bike.
Instead of the quote on parts and estimate on labour, I was told I owed £74.99 for a service I never agreed to. No price was ever discussed. I’d said the bike had barely been ridden since the last service (also done by CMC). This caused a lot of stress. I wasn’t going to pay for something I didn’t need, ask for or authorise. They later reduced the charge after challenged it, but I was not going to pay for this as I already knew what needed to be done.
Transparency and prior consent are essential—legally and ethically. I no longer feel comfortable as a CMC customer and won’t proceed with further work.
CMC suggested replacing a rubber tip on the gear lever that could’ve been reused and other parts later turned out to be unnecessary. I’d already had the bike checked by a trusted mechanic in Cardiff. CMC didn’t mention anything about resetting the check engine light, or note that one fluid might need replacing soon. Cardiff said bolts likely didn’t need replacing but could be ordered if needed. Here quoted like all bolts nuts regardless of need.
Be aware: they may not listen, may carry out work without consent, then try to charge for it.
I couldn’t sleep due to this stress—especially not knowing if they’d withhold my bike. I sought advice, which helped to calm me. After thinking it over, decided never again. I'd ask for my bike back if issue i'd just report theft, as no cost or contract agreed. Called at 11am as did not get a reply. Different person said he'd call me back. Shortly after said you can pick it up moody tone.
I had to take a train and taxi back, wasting half a day. I just wanted to collect my keys and go. Mike asked to speak. I explained. He apologised, said they try to do the right thing, and felt I escalated too quickly (e.g., leaving a review). He said I should’ve asked for a manager allowed time for investigation. I said I assumed it would be passed on and the reduced cost was the response.
Mike breifly apologised then explained the staff member I dealt with was new/training. That explained a lot. Still, I shouldn’t have had to deal with the consequences. On reflection most of apology was just victim blaming e.g. my complaints affect on them.
I acknowledged I may have escalated quickly but explained I was already under lots of stress, and didn’t need this or have time for it. I said it felt like they were taking advantage—especially since they wouldn’t cap labour hours or act reasonably in this case.
Quotes from elsewhere: Yamaha Bristol Fowlers offered to price match or allow me to supply parts. Yamaha Bridgend and Bristol both quoted cheaper labour—by £2 and £13 per hour due to peak time no discounts. One even gave a firm 1-hour estimate. Non-Yamaha would be cheaper still and no travel.
I told Mike -no longer felt comfortable as a customer. That hasn’t changed.
Mike acknowledged the damage was minor and understood I didn’t want multiple vague advisories on record. He offered to do the labour himself for £40 as a goodwill gesture to resolve.
I appreciated the gesture. He said I could take time to decide. I called my sister—she said to go for it - remove review, but not return again and just go somewhere in Cardiff. Went back inside couldn’t see Mike anywhere, waited a bit. Warmed up the bike and left. Didn’t want to make another trip in full leathers on taxi/train and then go to Newport again for a 3rd time.
It wasn’t just about money— it's also the principle of the matter
Great service from start to finish
Great service from start to finish !
Many thanks guys top notch ! ✌️
Always us cmc.
Was quick to sort. Happy with the guys knowledge and speed. Friendliness. The most important thing is they did what they say they would. When they said they would call me they did so I never had to chase.
Cracking company.
Fabulous company to deal with when buying a new bike.
Nigel Davies made the transition smooth and straightforward.
Totally honest and transparent.
Even got free delivery this time.
I would definitely recommend them and will go back for my next bike.
Thanks everyone at CMC 👍
My third motorcycle from CMC arrived…
My third motorcycle from CMC arrived today. First bike, a Ducati Streetfighter V2 was awesome, a couple of years old but as new, perfect condition.
2nd bike, a Harley Fatboy had an issue. A quick phone call and after a short hassle free conversation a deal was done on an almost new Rocket3.
Part exchange prices have been fair, deals easy, delivery on time and any questions, addressed without any BS.
I have owned a lot of bikes and done many deals over the years. CMC seem to be trying hard to get things right.
Well done and thanks!

Carnt thank cmc Cannock enough told them my story they got my finance sorted out and got my bike ready in record time as they had a back log but still got it done and the manager even stayed late so that I could collect my bike the next evening when I finished work really do recommend them the service is top notch and the bike is absolutely amazing and can not fault it unlike the bike I bought from superbike factory thank you lads for what you did

A simple process that was based on a fair price. The bike was collected on time after a minimal amount of paperwork, the offer honoured and the money transferred.
first class service
Well, what can I say, I was greeted at the door by member of staff and made very welcome, I went there to purchase a set of leathers, I approached a member of staff called Kim. She was absolutely great, She gave me all the time in the world, check the leathers making sure they fitted and done me an excellent deal. I’d like to say a big thank you to her. Well done Kim. keep the good work.
The most disgusting food, in the world.
I called in here today with my bro to have a look around at the over priced bikes. We decided to have something to eat (big mistake) we knew we shouldn't, we say every time not to eat here. Today we were hungry so we had a cheese burger. What we were served was absolutely rank! The amount of grease oozing out of it was no joke. It saturated the 2 napkins I was given. The cheese was a chemical liquid cheese, the beef burgers were so bad you wouldn't give them to a dog. Fifteen quid for those. We took 2 bites each and left them on the table and walked off. How they have a qualification for food there is beyond me. We wouldn't buy a bike from CMC because of the inflated prices and we wouldn't eat there again even if it was for free. In instances like this you have to vote with your feet. So today we happily said our goodbyes and we are never going back to CMC again. Instead we'll press on into the peaks for a real coffee and nice surroundings. CMC you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Avoid This Dealership – Complete Waste of Time and Money
I had an awful experience with this dealership. The motorbike I bought clearly never had a proper PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) — it was full of faults right from the start. The condition was unacceptable for a new or even used bike. Basic things like horn, electrics, and engine checks were clearly skipped.
I raised the issues immediately, but the customer service was slow, unhelpful, and completely dismissive. It took me over two months of chasing and constant frustration just to get my money refunded. No apology, no real explanation, and definitely no accountability.
This place is unprofessional, unreliable, and not to be trusted. I would strongly recommend staying away — you risk losing your money and being stuck with a faulty bike.

So I have brought 9 or 10 bikes from…
So I have brought 9 or 10 bikes from cmc in the past decade or so. Aftersales has been really good in the past and I haven’t had many problems with bikes I’ve brought. They aren’t the cheapest of bike shops but service has been pretty good in the past. I’m afraid to say that expected service is non existent now. Promises of calls back from Ross from Chesterfield never happen, there seems to be plenty of reasons why the call needs to end and a call back the next day needs to happen but never does, when I’m keen to get a deal done. So the search for a better bike dealer needs to happen. It seems spending around £100,000 with them carry’s no weight whatsoever.

Genuinely blown away by the service from these guys.
Saw a bike online that was just what I was looking for. Spoke to Nick Wallace who made the process an absolute pleasure. Being over 100 miles away and not having the opportunity to visit the store, I relied on Nick to sort the sale. He described the bike very honestly over the phone. Sorted my PX out with a decent offer and arranged delivery at a time that suited me. Can't fault these guys at all. I have bought over 100 bikes over my lifetime and the service from CMC has been nothing less than first class. Cheers Guys. See you soon when I get the opportunity to ride over.
Great experience
I’ve just purchased a new Honda CRF300L from CMC and couldn’t be happier with my experience I dealt with Chris Watkinson at the Bridgend branch who was most helpful he’s a credit to CMC he gave me a fair price for my part ex everything sorted in 7 days delivered on time also thanks to the delivery driver I think his name was Wayne thanks CMC will definitely use again.
This yamaha dealer charged me for work not done
Can this yamaha dealer CMC be trusted in my opinion definitely not. Charging money for work they clearly marked as done hoping the customer won't notice is not what any trusted yamaha dealer should be doing.
18,000 mile service which includes checking the sparkplug gaps, can someone explain to me how they can remove them and not disturb the dust or leave fingerprints and still manage to tick it off as done on the worksheet and charge for work that hasn't been done. After all the tanks have to be removed so a little difficult to miss by mistake.
They did apologise and refund me the difference from the basic service and the 18,000 when I show them. It makes me wonder what else they charged for and didn't do.

great little bike shop
Death with a lady called Kim for parts and gear, great service and very knowledgeable. Fab customer service and will certainly use again.
Sales "man" "kid" was a blagger with a massive low ball offer
Just had a call from a salesman after an online quote, asked me who I'd gotten quotes with and what they offered and how much i leave for it and told him superbike offered me £2100 he said "yeah hahaha but there's hidden fees and they will take more off you" and they i said no no fees for selling unless I want 3 to 3 days for the money to clear he then came back with "yeeaahhh do you really trust them with your bike for 4 days and you no money" and also said well if it's super clean then he will give me 1850 😅 I'm sure you would. Compele blagger I put the phone down, super unprofessional. Don't call people and act like everyone is dumb. Oh he also said he needed to make money or I need to sell private if I wanted more money like duuhhhhhh really? I never knew i phoned a bike re seller. Everything about this person was off. Don't bother. Unless you want to be blagged and offended and talked to like you have NO sense.
Not the place to part-ex your bike !
I really, really, wanted to like this company. They are local to me (Cannock) and my FB feed is always full of them. Also, their sales guy, Simon, seems like a nice chap.
However, if you are looking for a fair px on your bike, this is probably the last place to go. Their offer is on the offending side of the reality. For my bike, the cheapest price on Autotrader (same year, similar mileage, worst condition) was 5K, they have offered me 2K.
I mean, if you, CMC, only want to sell new bikes and don't want to accept part ex, fair enough, but be upfront and clear, don't offend your potential customers.

I purchased a new Yamaha MT09SP 2025 plate from CMC at Newport.
Fantastic service, very helpful. Laid deposit to secure the bike. All sorted in about 10 days, then delivered to me in Suffolk.
Matt was the guy who sorted it all for me. Very helpful, and great to deal with.
I brought from CMC Newport, as my mate recently purchased a Honda cb1000r from them, and was really pleased with the service etc.
Highly recommended.
