The only reason for the 2nd star is because some effort was made, however they continue to deliver substandard work– 427 Days Past Due and Still Waiting on Basic Functionality

I contracted Design Cater to build a website, mobile applications, community platform, e-commerce functionality, and integrations for my business, Boater’s Life. The project was originally scheduled for completion on April 1, 2025. As of today, the project is approximately 427 days past due and remains incomplete.

While portions of the website and mobile applications are live, many core features continue to require rework because they were either not implemented correctly the first time or were released with significant functionality issues.

The most frustrating aspect is the ongoing response regarding outstanding items. When I recently requested an update on the remaining issues, I was told:

“They are all in the queue and will be fixed one by one. Meanwhile, if you face any issues on the e-commerce part, let me know.”

After more than a year beyond the promised delivery date, simply being told that unresolved items are “in the queue” is not an acceptable project management strategy.

Some of the challenges throughout this project have included:

* Repeated implementation errors requiring multiple correction cycles.
* Mobile app functionality issues affecting notifications, messaging, and user experience.
* Missing or incomplete website features.
* Delays in addressing reported bugs.
* Features that were represented as part of the original scope but later described as difficult, unsupported, or out of scope.
* Significant time spent by me testing, documenting issues, and providing quality assurance feedback that should have been handled during development.

To be fair, there have been improvements made, and some team members have been responsive when issues are reported. However, responsiveness alone does not offset a project that remains unfinished more than 14 months after its promised delivery date.

Business owners considering Design Cater should ensure that all project deliverables, timelines, integrations, support expectations, and change-order procedures are clearly documented in writing before signing a contract.

I sincerely hope Design Cater completes the remaining work and delivers on the commitments that were originally made. At this point, however, my experience has been defined by delays, rework, missed deadlines, and ongoing frustration.

The website is very east to navigate. The service was great. 10 out of 10 recommend. My personal number 1 go to company. I also want to point out that its very good for first time business owners and they also help with business starting as well. I've worked with Jack from Design Cater for 2 separate projects and have also sent my family member to work with him on her project. He has been easy to work with, quick to communicate through whichever method I prefer, and very responsive to my feedback / needs. He has expedited work per my requested timeline. We used Design Cater over a year ago to create our business logo. I gave Jack the colors and our motto and he took it from there, creating a distinct & timeless design that describes our business perfectly. Working with Marco has been seamless. My concerns have been answered with speed and the customer service has exceeded my expectations.

I highly recommend that you not use this company for any kind of Web Design. I hired this company back in 2002 for a logo and web design. The logo was not a issue; however, in 2025, I still do not have my web design, no reimbursement meant of payment, just scammed out of my money. Please be extremely cautious using this company.

Excellent Customer Service. Very Happy with the work performed for my new website BoarHog Sports Cards by Robert Jones and Frank. They do amazing work.

At first, I had a great impression and even left a positive review. But after using the website for a while, I realized that what was promised during the sale was not fully delivered.

They told me the package I chose included SEO, but later tried to charge me extra just to write the website content — something that should have already been included. There were actually two writing options: one without SEO (which still cost extra), and one with SEO, which was even more expensive. I chose the cheaper option because I was just starting my business, but the sales message clearly said SEO was included. As someone without much technical knowledge, I trusted what was presented.

Another issue was the CMS. I was told I would be able to make edits on my own — like changing content or images — but even changing my phone number was not possible. I followed all the tutorial videos they provided, but it didn’t work. They had to make the change for me. Later, my website started showing errors, my logo disappeared, and again I couldn’t fix it myself. I ended up hiring another company, and they told me the website was built in a way that makes it very difficult for non-tech users to manage — almost like it was done intentionally to keep me dependent on their services.

Also, the seller promised it was a “one-time price” — meaning I’d only pay once for the website design and development, with no future costs. They said, “your investment would be safe in any case” and even mentioned a refund policy. But in the end, I had to rebuild the entire website with another professional, which resulted in more expenses and frustration.

I’m sharing this to help others avoid the same situation and ask the right questions before purchasing.
