Harassment in Everyone Active Slough Centre

​I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my scheduled adult swimming lesson on Saturday, 14th March (11:30 am session).
​I am a regular member of the centre and attend this weekly class, which is led by the instructor, Khadijah. During this particular lesson, Khadijah took several students to the deep pool. As I do not yet feel confident in deep water, I chose to remain in the standard adult teaching pool to continue my practice.
​My decision is based on a genuine safety concern; during a previous session in the deep pool with this instructor, I struggled significantly and felt I was at risk of drowning. Given the class size, the instructor is naturally unable to provide the one-on-one supervision I require in deeper water.
​While I was practising, the supervisor on duty, Harry, approached me and insisted that I move to the deep pool. I clearly explained my safety concerns and my discomfort with the deep water, requesting to stay in the teaching pool. Despite the fact that the pool was otherwise empty and there were still 20 minutes remaining in my session, Harry was extremely rude and ordered me to leave the water immediately.
​Request for Resolution
​This experience was deeply upsetting and has left me feeling quite shaken. To make matters worse, I now feel trapped in a contract that requires two months' notice to cancel. The idea of continuing under these conditions—which I can only describe as a form of mental distress—is deeply upsetting. I feel stuck in a membership where my safety and well-being are not being prioritised.

Formal Complaint: Harassment and Exclusion from Service
​To: Management of The Centre
Date: March 15, 2026
Subject: Formal Complaint regarding the Adult Swim Session on March 14, 2026 (11:30 AM)
​To whom it may concern,
​I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the discriminatory and unprofessional treatment I received during the Adult Swim session on Saturday, March 14, 2026. I am a regular attendee of this slot, and the events of this past session have caused me significant distress and mental anguish.
​Incident Details
​During the session, the instructor, Khadijah, instructed me to move to the big pool instesd of the regular pool. I politely declined, stating that I was not comfortable swimming in deep water and preferred to remain in the shallow section.
​Instead of respecting my safety boundaries, the instructor chose to:
​Publicly Humiliate Me: She called out in front of the entire class that I should "leave my space" in the adult sessions and suggested I move to a family class or a different time slot.
​Singling Out: This public "pin-pointing" felt like targeted harassment and was entirely inappropriate for a professional fitness environment.
​Forced Removal
​Following this exchange, the instructor spoke privately with the lifeguard (Harry) and then she relocated a portion of the class to the main pool. Shortly after, Harry approached me and stated I was required to leave immediately because the pool was "closing," despite there being 20 minutes remaining in my scheduled and paid-for session.
​Request for Resolution
​I was verbally forced to exit the pool in front of my peers, which I find to be a breach of the service agreement and a violation of the center’s code of conduct. I am seeking the following:
​A formal written apology from the staff involved.
​A clear explanation as to why I was forced to leave a session early when I had followed all safety protocols.
​Assurance that I will not be harassed or pressured to swim in depths I find unsafe during future sessions.
​A refund or credit for the disrupted session.
​I look forward to your prompt response regarding how you intend to rectify this situation.

very rude male worker

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m writing to complain about the way my son has been treated at the Everyone Active Slough Centre.

For about the past week, a male member of staff has been repeatedly approaching my son while he’s been using the gym. From what my son has told me, the staff member has been quite rude and has constantly been on his case, even though my son was simply using the facilities that he is allowed to use. My son paid for his membership with his own money and only goes there to work out and improve his fitness.

Because of this, going to the gym has become a really unpleasant experience for him. What should be something positive for a young person has turned into something stressful, and he now feels uncomfortable going there. The situation eventually led to him being told to leave the gym, which I find very unfair considering he is a paying member and was just using the facilities available to him.

As a parent, this is very frustrating to hear. My son should be able to use the gym he paid for without being constantly challenged or made to feel unwelcome.

I would appreciate it if this situation could be looked into and explained. I’d like to understand why this staff member kept confronting him and why he ended up being asked to leave.

The Centre Slough…

My experience with The Centre Slough has been terrible. The staff are untrained, rude, and completely unhelpful. I was charged for a “no-show” due to their own system failure, which they admitted, yet still took money and refused to resolve it. I’ve been ignored for over a month despite countless calls and complaints. This place feels like a money trap rather than a service. Please think twice before joining — honestly, keep your children at home instead of sending them here.

This is about Slough centre.I am absolutely dissatisfied. The day I wanted to become an annual member for the first time, 31st of Dec., the lady who received me assured that the showers and steam room will be fixed by the end of the christmas. A month past and nothing changed. Showers are freezing cold, steam room is not working and the bottom of the pool is visibly filthy all over thr place. And worse, everyone complains and no one from Everyone active gives a hoot.

You're changing life for the better

I'm so glad I finally found the courage to sign up for classes at the center. I was greeted warmly and received professional service. The atmosphere is very friendly, and the people are helpful and kind. The place is modern, clean, and well-maintained. An additional advantage is that you can book and cancel classes, which is an added motivation. I'm glad I found you guys near my home; you're changing life for the better.

School Swimming lessons

Every week we take a group of children swimming at The Centre and I would like to say how wonderful and caring the swimming staff are! They work incredibly hard to support all of the children and to ensure they have a swimming experience that not only improves their swimming but makes sure that they enjoy going.
Thank you to Amber, Zoe and Lillie who give their all every week, we really appreciate you!

Public health issues

23rd September 2025. The changing room are filthy. Toilets not cleaned since last time I was at the centre. The pool wasn't cold but freezing. I'm a proper swimmer but it was uncomfortable even swimming front crawl. The chlorine wasn't right today I came home and threw up. Impossible to do from crawl without a little bit of water. I feel like noone cares. I've gone for years . The old pool was cleaner. Shut it !! get it sorted. Don't put people at risk. Children. Elderly and disabled it's so wrong.

Zoe, swimming instructor

Due to our term-time commitments, we rely on holiday swimming crash courses for our children, and this summer, we are fortunate to have Zoe as their instructor. After only six days, we've seen a significant boost in their confidence and a remarkable improvement in their swimming skills. Her teaching style is truly excellent and professional. We highly recommend her and would be thrilled if she were to lead every course we book in the future.

By far the best gym in Slough

By far the best gym in Slough. From start to finish the staff have been so welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The gym is fully equipped and maintained to a high standard, the pool is the perfect temperature and the sports hall is fantastic. I have used all of the facilities since joining and I can't fault it. Keep up the excellent work team Slough 💪

Good experience

Came back after not being for a while, huge improvement with the cleanliness. Was good to see all the kit in the gym working.

Please, STAY AWAY from The Centre SLOUGH, Everyone Active Sport Centre.

I have never experienced this extremely unprofessional, rude and aggressive customer service.

Starting for the spin class lady, to reception staff and managers.

They also breach the law in all ways for example, they refuse to refund the money deposit. They fabricated lies in order not to address the issues and the appalling customer service they all provided.

I wished I checked the reviews here before approaching this centre, I can support every single bad review on here because I have had the same experience.

I got the money refund through my bank, I am happy and this is a good bye .

Disgusting

Disgusting, overcrowded place—especially the pool.
The staff show zero respect for customers and never prepare the swimming lanes on time. The pool is constantly taken over by swimming lessons, with some obnoxious trainers keeping kids in the water beyond their allocated time slots. As a result, paying customers and members are forced to wait, cutting into their already limited swimming time.

There’s never any staff onsite to sort these issues out. The steam room has been out of order for the third week in a row, and some of the showers are broken too.

This place has gone downhill since the pandemic and just keeps getting worse. It desperately needs proper management—time for SBC to step in.

Your comments about lane preparation and lesson timings have been noted, and we will be following up with our team to ensure sessions are running as scheduled and that paying customers are not unfairly impacted.

We also appreciate your concerns about staffing and maintenance, and we’re working hard behind the scenes to address these challenges and improve the overall experience for our members. We should be additional swim session in place in August to hopefully alleviate the swim session issue.

I have previously complained about a…

I have previously complained about a swimming teacher called ‘sandy’ who shouted ‘your doing it wrong!’and pointed at my 5 year old and made her cry and pulled her out of the pool. It was shocking to watch so I got her out of the pool and took her home and made a formal complaint. I had not seen this woman for over a year so thought she had left. I have just walked in to take my daughter to her swimming lesson and she was the teacher today covering. My now six year old sat down and I scanned for her usual teacher and noticed it was ‘sandy’ as I went to walk towards my child she began to cry saying mummy it’s her I don’t want to go swimming. I informed the receptionists that I was leaving due to who the teacher was. He told me that they have had hundreds of complaints about her from parents. Please tell me why she is still allowed to work there and teach children to this day. I think it’s disgusting that no matter how many complaints have been made there obviously has been no consequences for her unprofessional and aggressive behaviour!

Good gym but need to focus on fixing equipment.

Would have given 5 stars instead of 4 due to constantly broken equipment and no action. No prior training given how to use the equipment.

You should of completed an online induction and there should be fitness motivators in the gym - if you spot one, you can ask them to show you anything you may need to know.

Do not recommend

Terrible experience with the centre, the receptionist (male) was unhelpful. Sounded like he wanted to rush rather than helping me reschedule swimming lessons for my 5 year old. He hung up in the middle of the conversation. Speaking of the Swimming trainers, I didn't find them interested at all with the kids. Done three lessons already
