Hopeless info from the booking agent!

1. Wanted to change my baggage arrangements, Expedia operator didn’t know answer, promised to get back but never did! Then after I phoned again, the operator’s confused and confusing answer was yes then no! Also she no refunds, something they hadn’t mentioned when I booked.
2. Expedia messaged incorrect information about being able to check-in online. Then when I asked about why I wasn’t able to, they said you have to check-in in person. Expedia, absolutely No idea!

Difficult to deal with when refund or changes required

Booked a flight to Japan and realised that I wasn’t falling under the new 10 June 2022 reopening category. Tried to cancel within 24 hours but couldn’t and was told the 24 hours only applied within the same day. I had booked at night and called the next day. I requested then to change flight dates to a time the borders would open, but Expedia was unable to get hold of All Nippon Airline nor did they know how much it would cost me to request a refund or change of dates. The Airline website says changes must go through agent I booked with, but Expedia customer service person can’t help. I booked through Expedia because their flights are cheap, but you get what you pay for. In the future I will use a local travel agent or book directly with the airline.

WORST experience ever trying to deal…

WORST experience ever trying to deal with Expedia to get travel credits reissued. Countless hours on the phone to rebook a couple of very simple flights that were cancelled due to covid. Omg ... Thank God for wine!
Every person we spoke to was friendly and helpful but on hold for hours, to someone in India or phillipines. Rebooked very simple trip nz to oz trip THREE times with them only to receive an email saying our payment was declined (which it wasn't) and we needed to rebook. Money had gone out of my account then put back in ... So the same conversation three times and STILL it's not confirmed!!! Will never ever use Expedia again ... Total nightmare!!!!

Not even worth 1 star. Avoid at all cost.

Not even worth 1 star. Have wasted 7 hours trying to get their agent to change our Swissair issued flight reservations. Several times I have been on hold for 1.5 hours only to then get cut off. This happens repeatedly. I spoke w Swissair direct and got the answer in 5 minutes yet somehow Expedia is unable to reach the airline and have me waiting for literally hours. I’ve ended up canceling our business class airfares to the tune of $12k and just have to hope for the best that we will eventually receive the refund (they said it would take about 8 days but my confidence with them could not be any lower). We have booked several long haul business class fares through them in the past but this will have been the last. It’s just not worth the pain. We will book direct with carrier even it that means paying a premium.

This company takes money and doesn’t allow you to cancel.

If the booking is not available it will book another date and customer service overseas says they cannot cancel. Do not use this company. The hotel cancelled our booking directly and we have to put the customer service person on the phone to put them on the spot. The hotel says they like to take money that’s it.

Expedia NZ are a shocker to deal! Never again.

Expedia NZ (call centre) are a shocker to deal and make it almost impossible to redeem an airline credit. I have a $504 credit with United (due to covid cancelled trip) and I was trying to use it towards another United flight. The whole ordeal was over one hour ++ on the phone with someone at a call centre. I checked and direct booking with United the fare is $686 (one way) and Expedia wanted to charge me over $2100. This seems illegal and unfair business practice. I had to threaten legal action, complain to the parent company and suddenly the fare difference was difference was $187. Wow. Lesson learned here book with the airline directly or find a great travel agent who can manage. I feel so bad for people not knowing any better and getting taken for a ride literally!

EXPEDIA IS A SCAM THEY CANNOT WORK OUT HOW TO REFUND ME MY MONEY FOR A FLIGHT I BOOKED AND PAID FOR BUT ARE ABLE TO WORK OUT HOW TO CHARGE MY ACCOOUNT 7 MONTHS AFTER THE ORIGINAL FLIGHTS WEWE PAID.. BE AWARE YOU WILL HAVE ONLY ISSUES SING THIS COMPANY.

Expedia is hands down the worst company…

Expedia is hands down the worst company I have ever felt with. I’ve spent over a year trying to get my refund. They have hung up, disconnected chats while I was replying and avoided questions. Expedia told me they couldn’t give me my refund because they couldn’t prove who I was. A representative of this company accused me of fraud, then proceeded to tell me they don’t have a legal department!. I highly recommend if you take the risk of booking anything even a bus ticket to take screenshots of every conversation and get every persons name you speak to. Soon or later this company will end up in bankruptcy!! Absolute joke🖕🖕🖕🖕

If I could rate it negative 10 , I would. They are the most incompetent people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Never answer anything, don’t get back to you. Don’t contact the airlines or hotels in your behalf, and give you timeframes they never meet. Useless is a compliment to these people
I can’t wait to have them out of my life.

Hopeless and useless

Hopeless and useless. They booked me into a horrible hotel in Dec 19 in Cambodia, The hotel manager would not give me refund saying I had to contact expedia
I tried doing so but no one contacted me for many months , So i had to stay in horrible hotel for duration of my holiday (last holiday before covid)
Eventually Expedia contacted me and admitted they were wrong for not contacting me when i needed help
They gave me a good will voucher of $100
When i checked the other day they said the voucher had expired ? (no mention ever of expire date previously ??
I asked if they could send again saying i have not been able to travel because of covid , Their reply was sorry we cant send another one ???
If they had said the voucher expires after a period of time I could have used it in Australia
This is an example of terrible customer service
They should have given me another voucher

Never...Never again will I booked with them

Never...Never again will I booked with them. They are so useless, worthless and heartless. Not even bending their rules. Not asking for refund but only change the hotel on the coupon which I can use it in my country. How can I travel overseas when due to travel restrictions (Covid Pandemic) I cannot use this hotel voucher and has expiry date December 2021.

Rebooked a hotel that was canceled due to covid. On the dates we booked the event we were attending changed. Expedia and the hotel would not change dates. Spent 1 hour and 50 minutes on the phone to be told they wouldn't change the dates. Was told I need to pay for an extra night that I can't use. Very dissatisfied.

Will never book through Expedia ever…

Will never book through Expedia ever again. Booked at Sea Temple Port Douglas, made sure the was a good cancellation policy in case. We had to cancel and did that with in the correct time frame, did this 15/04/21, today 21/05/21 and still no $495 refund. Have emailed through Expedia app at least 10 time and keep get the same response from the hotel - is should be there in the next few days. Rang Expedia just over a week ago and was told I had to deal with the hotel which I said I have been doing. They were not willing to even listen till I threatened to leave reviews at this point the issue was escalated. Been 10 days and have not had a call or email from anyone at Expedia. Shame, shame, shame. Clearly they wipe there hands once they get their commission.

Awful Communication

Booked a hotel with Expedia however due to covid the trip couldnt go ahead. I was unable to contact Expedia via email, phone calls and the virtual chat, i even attempted to contact them via social media accounts however all went unanswered. Now I am out of pocket and unable to amend. Would not recommend

Please DO NOT purchase any tickets via expedia NZ. I bought tickets from Expedia last Jan 2020 and due to the pandemic Sri Lankan airlines cancelled the flight. I was given a credit only. Now that there is no date when the NZ borders will reopen i have requested for the refund. They keep saying they will Sri Lankan airlines for the refund but Sri Lankan airlines said that Expedia had never requested for the refund.

I am now have been on hold for 3 hours and still on hold.

we had a flight booked with "no change…

we had a flight booked with "no change fees' for $1537 in march, we needed to change it to february, so we rung expedia and were told that that it will cost $1587 for the february flight.
we then checked on expedia and singapore airlines and both websites had that flight at $1338,
$250 CHEAPER!
when i explained this to the expedia operator she told me that price was not accurate, and that the real price was $1587. even though i could get up to the payment screen on both websites for only $1338.
she then started to tell me she couldnt offer that price because its only for NEW bookings.
USE EXPEDIA AT YOUR OWN RISK..
i will NEVER use them again.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. My flight was cancelled because of COVID-19 and was told that I'll be refunded back with my money 8 weeks from the date they issued my refund which was the 22nd of October. By the 29th of January, I haven't got my refund deposited in my back account yet. And when I called to ask about the status of my refund, they asked me to call my bank as the issue is probably from their side. I was fine to call the bank but all I needed is a proof that they have already refunded me by a certain date so when I contact the bank I have a proof to show them. The person talking to me at the call centre kept repeating that I should contact my bank cause the issue is not from their side as they issued my refund already. I told him that I was ok with calling my bank, all I needed was an email from Expedia saying the date they refunded me and the amount refunded as a proof to contact my bank. Unfortunately all I got as an answer is that I need to talk to my bank and ask why the money hasn't been refunded since it has been 8 weeks. I am just wondering how is that helpful? First they used to tell me that the issue with getting a refund to begin with is the airline and now it's the bank. So I wonder why I need to book via Expedia if I'll be needing to resolve my issues with the other facilities myself?

Absolute frauds

Absolute frauds. Just ripped me off 30 bucks after a 4 hour run around for a flight change. Literally hung up pn the phone and dropped.out online and waited.for the flight to change price on their site when I explained the airline (Virgin) had confirmed no change in cost and a Covid free change policy. Never ever use this agent. Disgusting fraudies
