Elderly father bought something from JML and £29.99 been coming out of his bank ever since. From other reviews looks like this is a common thing
Absolutely appalling organisation! My 90 year old mother - in all innocence - called who she thought was JML (a trusted brand) - to order a product. Three days later all hell erupted - Froogal started... Ver más

Even if you cancel it, they still take £99.99 a month !
They need to be fined & closed down !

Bought a mop from them in March and suddenly 1 month later they took £99.99 from my bank with out my permission.
Contacted them and they said we agreed to the membership which we have not. As we do not do this. Email sent to us and not received and nothing in the post.
It’s an absolute Scam do not touch them with a barge pole. Worst scam ever and got you over a barrel.
They said they were going to listen to there tapes of the telephone call, but they will not! I believe both companies should be closed down or reported to the one show to follow up!

Awful
Awful , disgusting, venture capital company that “ offered” my 88year old mother a “trial “ when she bought a product over the phone ,as she has no internet . I managed to cancel after noticing 2 transactions for £29.99 had left her account . No refund , no apology- just “well she did agree “ awful ,awful people . Should be ashamed of themselves.

Scam, completely avoid
If I could score 0 I would, bought a h2o dual mop and extra pads from Thane, few days later received a phone call from who I thought was Thane asking permission to send an offer through post, reiterated several times there would be no charge. Heard nothing more, received no post or mails so thought nothing of it. Until 99.99 was taken from credit card by Thane. Thane were very unhelpful stating I had agreed to subscription to a savings club, would not refund and I’m not convince cancellation has gone through as no email confirming despite requesting this. They tried blaming the set up on email sending their correspondence to junk mail, I had nothing there either. Thankfully credit card company sorting, have had to have new card and they have refunded while investigating

Scams vulnerable pensioners
This company has been taking money from my grandmother's account for at least 18 months without her knowledge. I fail to see how a 91 year old with no internet, absolutely no concept of the internet, therefore no email address has signed up to anything online. She doesn't know what the internet is, let alone know how to use it. This is a complete scam preying on vulnerable people. Shame on you! Abhorrent behaviour! You people disgust me. Before you attempt to insult me with your cop out, spambot response, there is no membership number, I will not be emailing you fictional log in details. I will simply be taking matters further and reporting this fradulent company. How dare you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought a steam Mop from Thane and got a leaflet saying call now to claim your free gift, 21, 14 or 7 nights free hotel accommodation. To be fair at the bottom of leaflet it says to receive your free gift there will be a small postage fee which was £1.99. Called them waiting for the catch and the free gift was a welcome pack with 14 days discount vouchers and £20 Amazon voucher, also told no obligation to join but would need to call the number before 14 days to cancel the subscription which costs £29.99. Welcome pack didn't arrive, and no Amazon Voucher I had to chase up and by the time it came the 14 days were nearly up but still no Amazon voucher.
Emailed them to sat pack just arrived and they said they would extend the dateline. That was over a month ago and still no Amazone voucher. I have now called the number to cancel the subscription before money leaves my bank. So no Amazon voucher and now waiting for credit card to let me know if they've taken the monthly fee.
AVOID ! such a waste of time and disappointed than Thane endorse this 😒

AVOID-SCAMMERS/LIARS/MISLEADING
If I could give this company 0 stars I would. so I ordered a new water tank for my h20 steam mop from thanes online website in the 6/1/25. 20 mins after purchase I get a phone call from who I thought were thane, they asked me if I was happy with my purchase and for being a good customer they will send me amazon vouchers through the post, I just need to pay a delivery fee of £1.99 and set up a password to receive them, so I said yes sure. A month later I get a charge from thane of £99.99 so I go through a live chat asking what this is for they say it’s a company called FROOGUL, I opted in for vouchers and sent me a number to call them, I call them they tell me by me giving them a password is me agreeing to a subscription what kind of bull###t scam is this. I was not once told it was a subscription and that they were selling anything, was not once told it was a company called froogul I was lead to believe it was thane they told me they sent an email, they will not be refunding me and that it’s my problem I shouldn’t of gave them a password. I also did not receive this how is it allowed never heard of them they are posing as thane who have sold them my details, I’ve even read reviews from a year ago there are 100s on this site alone all saying the same thing this company needs shutting down, taking from the vulnerable and the elderly without consent. Reported to action fraud i have a crime number they are being investigated and I will also be retrieving money back through the bank over my dead body will u be keeping that u vile dirty scummy humans. LETS GET ONE THING STRAIGHT AS WELL FROOGUL. U can refute this all you like but when more than 1 person never minds 100s on here alone say the same thing we all know it is facts and that you are liars cheaters scammers scum of the earth company. And everyone who works for you will get bad karma you can’t rob people daily and expect to live a good life it all comes back in the end

Absolute scam. Rude people who pressure older people into signing up for a subscription without telling them fully what it is. The fact they buy details from to shopping companies is disgusting. Need closing down

SCAM unprofessional rude people who set up a subscription for £29.99 a month plus £1.99 in advance. I had no idea who they were. I think I bought something on tv shopping snd my details were passed on.They're apparently a company that charge £29.99 a month that's £359.88 a year for the privilege of using their discount card. My bank stopped further payments as fraud. I've tried to get a refund from Froogul but got a snotty email from Danielle saying it's cancelled but no refund as you missed the date to opt out. I'm fuming. Hence their online feedback is a whopping 90% negative!
Here's the thing they didn't even send me a card anyway. This company has some of the worst views I've ever read. It's likely to shut down as I like many others have reported them to the Ombudsman.

Phoned my mum, pressurised her into agreeing to purchase the catalogue. Mum stated she did not want the monthly subscription, she's not long had a stroke and can't get out etc. Then they start taking £29.99 out her bank!

Don't trust this site, keep credit/bank details
My father who is 93 years old and had money taken out of his bank account. He obviously bought something that uses this company and they kept his bank details and has been taken for the last 3 months £39.99 probably for a subscription that he didn't opt in for. He has spoken to his bank and they will be investigating. This is probably how they get people to join the subscription by keeping bank details.
Just read a review on here and the company came back saying they don't keep details, you do to get people back to your site
8 would advise anyone purchasing anything from this company once you paid for it with a credit or debit card delete your details or better still to be safe don't use this company.

Vile company engaged in mis-selling
Froogul and whatever nonsense, fake product they offer was mis-sold to my parents over the phone while ordering a item from THANE as advertised on a freeview TV channel.
The company has such low reputation it triggered a fraud protection with the bank. The froogal payment was stopped and card blocked. My parent was issued a new card.
Later Froogal attempted more payments which blocked the cards again. Froogal is getting no money from us but seems able to block my parents credit cards when it feels like.
Recently contacted Froogul and they have agreed to stop requesting payments and cancel. However considering the attitude of the person handling the call and the overall reports from this site. I feel this may continue.
We have experienced everything that is also being wrote on here by others. This is a vile, predatory company preying on older people. Trading standards need to shut this company down.

Respuesta de Froogul
Froogal is theft
Froogal is theft: you innocently buy something from Thane, get an incomprehensible phone call from Froogal who then use your Thane card authorisation to take money from your account, which you can’t get back.

Respuesta de Froogul
Misleading at best, probably fraud
Just here to say the same as all the other reviews - don’t buy from Thane and if you do, hang up if a friendly person calls you after placing the order to thank you for it as they’re actually signing you up to Froogal without that being at all clear

AVOID THESE FRAUDSTERS/BIG CON MERCHANTS
They seem to be gaslighting me every time I call to get my Amazon voucher and saying it has gone to the wrong address, they will deliver it again. I have rang them 5 times already and they are the biggest load of con merchants going. Then they said it should be a voucher on my account which they couldn't seem to tell me where to find it and all of a sudden the line gets cut off. It makes me sick that they can do this. I will be reporting to trading standards and Watch TV should not be supporting this. If anyone knows how I could contact the TV who supports these fraudsters please let me know

A very underhand company. Put the phone down if they call
They must have got my details including credit card details from Thane after I bought an Orbitrek from them. The phone call began, Hello Bill, I would like to thank you for buying the Oritrek, we really appreciate our customers. I am sending you a gift card. At no time was I told that I was signing up to anything and I did not authorise any payment. I then got an email saying that I was signed up to Froogul. Reporting this to Which? fraud department, trading standards etc to warn as many people as possible. The Orbitrek is going back

This company uses misleading and…
This company uses misleading and underhand sales tactics. I will be reporting to the trading ombudsman also.
Agent informed me I'd received an Amazon voucher as thank you for purchasing a Thane product. He explained that it was through a service called froogul, which offered discounts. He explained that if I wanted to continue the service it was £99.99. I asked if I had to sign up to anything. He said "No" - this was an outright lie.
Later that day, I received an email informing me that I'd signed up to froogul, charged a £1.99 administration fee and liable to automatically pay the £99.99 if I didn't cancel my account.
My credit card was charged the £1.99, without my consent, by a company called Acai Marketing.
I called customer services, and they continued to gaslight me about me providing "verbal consent". This is categorically a lie. I see they have an standard reply to reviews like mine. Don't believe a word!
The "agreement password" that "must be given as your permission to proceed with the trial" was described to me on the call as a "memorable word" to "unlock the voucher".
This is undeniably a cold call scam operation.

IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service my mother, a pensioner, has received. She was promised a £20 Amazon gift card as part of your promotion, which has yet to be delivered. Furthermore, when she attempted to cancel, there was no clear option to do so on your website. Your AI chatbot has proven to be unhelpful, adding to her frustration.
My mother reached out to customer service, but despite being told that the issue would be "investigated," no action has been taken. To make matters worse, during the conversation, the phone was abruptly disconnected when she raised a valid concern. This level of service is unacceptable, and we are now considering escalating the matter to Trading Standards and Action Fraud.
