This company uses misleading and underhand sales tactics. I will be reporting to the trading ombudsman also.
Agent informed me I'd received an Amazon voucher as thank you for purchasing a Thane product. He explained that it was through a service called froogul, which offered discounts. He explained that if I wanted to continue the service it was £99.99. I asked if I had to sign up to anything. He said "No" - this was an outright lie.
Later that day, I received an email informing me that I'd signed up to froogul, charged a £1.99 administration fee and liable to automatically pay the £99.99 if I didn't cancel my account.
My credit card was charged the £1.99, without my consent, by a company called Acai Marketing.
I called customer services, and they continued to gaslight me about me providing "verbal consent". This is categorically a lie. I see they have an standard reply to reviews like mine. Don't believe a word!
The "agreement password" that "must be given as your permission to proceed with the trial" was described to me on the call as a "memorable word" to "unlock the voucher".
This is undeniably a cold call scam operation.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service my mother, a pensioner, has received. She was promised a £20 Amazon gift card as part of your promotion, which has yet to be delivered. Furthermore, when she attempted to cancel, there was no clear option to do so on your website. Your AI chatbot has proven to be unhelpful, adding to her frustration.
My mother reached out to customer service, but despite being told that the issue would be "investigated," no action has been taken. To make matters worse, during the conversation, the phone was abruptly disconnected when she raised a valid concern. This level of service is unacceptable, and we are now considering escalating the matter to Trading Standards and Action Fraud.

Only giving one star as xant leave minus. Basically thieves. Got my details when I used shop on TV. Promised a £20 amazon voucher never got all sorts of promises that never materialised. Now to fight it through the bank. Avoid using shop on TV

This company was somehow used with the mopping up of lost sales with Shop On TV. Not sure which company ‘really’ phoned me re items left in my shopping basket, but I was persuaded to buy on the promise of a refund on previous P&P (which I still haven’t had), then was told “as a reward for my years’ loyalty, I was to receive £20 Amazon gift voucher”. Now what followed was very rushed (and given the fact, I have to say to all call handlers that I have disabilities, including those affecting my cognitive abilities), but was included and seems integral to them nailing a contract, is that they asked for/I duly gave, a password. FYI I have physical disabilities, have been part bedbound, housebound and in need of carers 3 x per day for 11 years now; I have NO need for discounts for restaurants, let alone The National Trust and Alton Towers!!! TWICE I’ve called this company to ask for my £1.99 back and once I’ve called Shop On TV (I’ll never shop with them again!!! 😡). I’ve not only been refused my refund, but I’ve had the phone put down on me TWICE; Shop On TV did it when I was in tears. I’ve had to cancel my card because (thanks to these kind people for sharing their awful experiences) I’d be days away from them taking £29.99 out of my bank account. These scumbags working off scripts are no better than those businesses in Mumbai that scam people all over the world. I’m disgusted by the way I’ve been treated by this company, and the company I previously trusted and will never buy from again 😡

Cannot believe this company have taken £99.99 from my bank again, I had this trouble last year and couldn’t get my money back. I’ve tried emailing them but I haven’t had a reply. I’m a pensioner living on the state pension and they have just taken half of this weeks pension. If anyone has any advise on how to get my money back or how to stop this happening again next year I would be grateful.

Do not get involved with this company, they are so under handed in the way that their "membership" is sold! They claim because an email is received by them that you are accepting their T's & C's, when I said I don't recall the email they where pleased to tell me that they had tracked my email and can see I read it. However when I asked if my account had ever been logged in, used or activated they claim they couldnt tell.

I bought a steam mop from Thane and was subsequently contacted by these guys. It wasn't really clear that they weren't Thane. Offered discounts on various items but at no time did the guy say anything about being charged £99.99 after a month. I emailed them and called customer service. I dealt with a lady called Cathy who initially tried to tell me that I'd agreed to it. After I insisted, quite firmly, that I hadn't she agreed to cancel the account. Hence the 3 stars. I've had a confirmation email and have taken the precaution of blocking any payments to Froogul with my card provider. Have also complained to Thane as I didn't give them permission to share my data. Steer clear.

Respuesta de Froogul
Called me pretending to be Thane Direct ostensibly checking I was happy with my purchase. At no point did they advise who they really were or that they were selling a service. After the call I got an email with membership details advising they had taken £1.99 for month 1 and a further £99.99 to be taken for annual membership. I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS. Thane apparently saw fit to release my contact details and personal bank account details without my consent or authority. Tried to tell me that by giving them a chosen password, I had agreed to their terms and conditions. Appalling way to do business and smacks of misspelling/fraud/scam. AVOID BOTH THANE AND FROOGUL.

I had never even heard of this company until their name appeared on my bank statement and took £29.99p. I had to change my debit card because of them. I asked for my money back but they refused and said I had agreed to join in an email they sent me in February this year. A search of my email account shows no emails from them. Avoid this company like the plague.
Found that they had taken £99.99 following a purchase from an entirely different company. Chased it up with little to no success for a couple of days. Then went back to the original company who had to sign off on the refund. They don't have a website, they respond to emails intermittently and phone calls aren't successful either. I was signed up to the scheme via an email that went to my junk folder and was unopened. The first I knew of Froogul was the £99.99 being taken out of my account. Steer clear, they seem incredibly dodgy.
I have tried to cancel just found. Out you have taken three payments from my account for what I’ve not received nothing from you but you take from me. And can’t write on here what I think about you

Really pleased with this company. The saving I have made via the app is great especially in the current climate. No issues with customer service always very helpful.
The time period I was supposed to get my money back has long passed and now they wont respond to any contact from me! I have now gone to my banks fraud department. This company are a disgrace.

Respuesta de Froogul
I have been using this for several months now and I really like the offers. I've phoned Customer Services to check on some stuff and they have been great. The app is so handy too!!
Tried to contact Froogul twice via their email to cancel my policy as I was missold - no reply at all.... definitely wouldn't recommend
They have since asked for more information on this and have done nothing to rectify this issue
Plus monthly payment is taken via 'card payment' so you can't cancel as it's not a direct debit!
Advised this company I no longer wished to be a member, cancelled in good time and advised them within the cancellation period. Followed up original e-mail three times, finally rang their unhelpful customer service to complain re the two payments they took from my account. They insisted they had not received my e-mails, and I should e-mail the same address as I had been doing !! Rang my banks fraud department to advise and stop any further payments. Would avoid this company as they may be fraudulent.
