I have never experienced anything so terrible, waited 2 hours for passport control when arriving, longer than the flight itself. Terrible service, they can put a man on the moon but cannot service the passport control area. 1 person checking passport for queue of over 100 people is just shocking service

Another of the joys of the UK leaving the EU. Swiss and EU citizens going straight through but we queued for a passport stamp for 40 minutes on arrival and an hour on departure. When my daughter asked the only employee in sight if her 82 year old father if he could be taken to the front of the queue, she replied, ‘No, you should have asked for help in advance’.

Geneva Airport honestly feels more like France than Switzerland, and not in a good way.
Despite being in a multilingual country, don’t expect anyone to speak to you in anything but French. Try English or even German and you’ll likely be met with blank stares, shrugs, or passive-aggressive responses. In fact, speaking French might actually increase your chances of running into problems. Ironic, right?
The airport itself is cramped, outdated, and confusingly laid out. Signage is poor, staff seem overwhelmed, and the general atmosphere is more chaotic than you’d expect from a Swiss airport. If you’re imagining the calm, clean, and efficient Swiss travel experience — this isn’t it.
Services are minimal, food options are expensive and unimpressive, and good luck finding a power outlet or a seat during peak hours.
If you have a choice, connect somewhere else. And if you have to go through GVA, patience, low expectations, and a sense of humor will go a long way.
Un aeroport qui se dit international…
Un aeroport qui se dit international mais qui n en a pas les qualités. Agrandissement aereoport sans agrandissement au niveau securité d ou des queues interminables a la sécurité. Pas d ascenseur selon le terminal . Assez lamentable lorsqu on est chargé avec bagages et bebe dans poussette et que l on doit descendre 20 marches d escalier sans aucune aide.Selon terminal un parcours interminable dans des couloirs lugubres de sous sol . Arrivés à 23h30 et toutes les boutiques deja fermées. On dirait atteindre une ville morte . Quelle tristesse. Attente interminable des bagages. Bref une organisation , installation, amenagement, acceuil mediocres.

Le 03 septembre vers 15h25, ma mère et moi avons subi une expérience extrêmement désagréable à l’aéroport de Genève.
Nous avons été fouillées de manière ciblée, non pas au hasard comme cela devrait être le cas, mais explicitement parce que nous portions des coiffures religieuses, selon les propos mêmes d’un agent.
Je trouve cela profondément discriminatoire et stigmatisant. Est-ce que nous sommes considérées comme suspectes simplement parce que nous n’avons pas les mêmes convictions que la majorité ? Ce que nous avons vécu s’apparente à un acharnement contre une minorité religieuse. Cela laisse une impression d’islamophobie institutionnalisée, ce qui est extrêmement choquant pour un aéroport international.

No more big flight schedule board
I am surprised that the airport has removed the easy to read large board located in the main hall, after the security. This to replace it unfortunately with advertisements! The same on the first floor lounges area. Is it a temporary change to see if passengers care or not? Anyway, not a customer friendly approach..
Terrible airport
Geneva airport must be amongst the worst within mainland Europe. Expect to wait up to one hour for passport control. Give enough time for a long wait also on the way out.

Nous somme revenu de izmir .agent douanier raciste est mal poli chauffeur taxi cri est ceux croit a barbes négocier un trajet geneve pour 250 euro pour 10 min jusqu'à la france des Coca-Cola a 5.50 un café a 4.95 ...ouahhhhhh a évité absolument .....je tien a ajouté 1 seul bonne chose la personne au information très agréable une dame très gentil ainsi que les agent de police a l'extérieur très courtois pour le reste vous verrez par vous même voilà
Security are awful
First of all we had our flight to the airport was delayed meaning what would have been a 5 hour stay in the airport became a 1 hour one and when we reached the airport after our flight it took us forever to get through security and in the process they took away our power bank that had been on 3 flights beforehand (Edinburgh - C.D.G then C.D.G - Ajaccio then Ajaccio - Geneva) in which we had no problem flying with before and we were heading back to Edinburgh where we had flown form with the power bank and in general the airport wasn't the best all the staff there other than security were generally okay but out whole stay there was awful and they never let us into the lounge we booked and payed for because there was too little time until our next flight.
Shockingly racist approach to security
Shockingly racist approach to security! Whilst I understand security is paramount on flights the staff at Geneva Airport are purposely picking on darker looking passengers. I am Spanish but was born and lived in Switzerland for many years. Travelling with my son my suitcase was passed through security twice and tested for drugs twice! The other people receiving this sort of treatment were middle eastern looking. Everyone white enough was not searched… Shameful behaviour from the staff at Geneva Airport!

Confusing layout funnels passengers into bottlenecks with scant signage. Announcements are sporadic and staff rarely volunteer help, leaving travellers hunting for information. Departure areas feel hot and airless, even in cooler months. Food options are limited and eye‑wateringly pricey, a simple sandwich and drink can cost as much as a sit‑down meal in town. Staff interactions lack warmth, adding to an already stressful experience. Overall: one of the poorest airports I’ve used; if possible, route through Lyon, Zurich or another nearby hub instead and spare yourself the hassle.

The place has no conditioning, it's dirty. Really, I was shocked, I expected from Switzerland, higher standard. We were, eventually, put in a circle gate, with no air circulation, not enough places to sit, about 1000 people in a very small circle dome with huge windows and 3 dirty old toilets. Très mauvais accès aux personnes handicapées…
Très mauvais accès aux personnes légèrement handicapées pour les vols Easyjet. Couloirs interminables, plein d'escaliers, accès à l'avion aussi par escaliers et non par des tubes directs.
Terminal F81-86 à éviter plusieurs centaines de mètres à marcher, surtout quand les tapis roulants sont en pannes ou en repartions.
Accès et sorties parkings autos Express nuls même pas à l'entrée et à la sortie d'identification par caméra. Vieux système papier qui ralentit tout.
Seule bonne nouvelle plus besoin d'avoir 2 francs suisse pour le caddy porte valises.
Accès pour vols hors Schenzen avec des centaines de mètres à parcourir sans tapis roulants.
Contrôles de sécurité avec rayons X bondés et très lents.
Enfin beaucoup de choses à corriger rapidement.

If there was a plan for the worst airport Geneva would be it. A truly awful place nothing about this airport is good. Rude staff, inefficient services, dirty, and overall appalling
