I bought 4 Aspect heaters for a retail store that has a lot of single pane glass. They have been installed now and not only look fantastic but work really well. We are in March now so don't have the proper cold temperatures hanging around but we only have two of them running and being able to keep the door open whilst feeling comfortable is something we have not had for the 20 years being open.

Throughout the buying process I was dealing with Jane who is the most accommodating, knowledgeable & professional person I have met in a long time. Thank you so much for all your guidance when I came to visit the showroom in Bristol. An added bonus is the heaters we purchased are made in Bristol. Great experience overall.

This is not about how well the product works as it is not completely installed waiting for other building work to be finished. However panel is on the ceiling and was easy to install and looks great. The buying was smooth and staff very helpful and informative when I asked lots of questions. Delivery was prompt and extremely well packaged. So full stars for this.

I would heartily recommend Herschel IF panels.
I bought 2 of the comfort 850 panels for the ground floor rear of the house; a kitchen/dining/family area where we spend a lot of time. It was to free up wall space by removing the existing radiators and I'll be honest I was unsure as to whether it would be a success initially.
I have to say it has been a resounding success.
After recieving a panel damaged in transit I got in touch with Herschel who sent a replacement straight out and arranged the collection of the damaged panel. At all points of contact from early enquiries to installation queries the customer service has been excellent. Helpful, informative and prompt.
Once turned on the panels quickly heat up the space and keep the required temperature steady. It is a comfortable heat and I am now able to use the reclaimed wall space for a kitchen cabinet and sofa without 'blocking off' the heat.
All in all a superb purchase and will seriously consider replacing radiators throughout the house as and when the opportunity arises. The level of control alone, especially for a smaller radiator in smaller room would be worth it alone.
Very impressed and pleased with our purchase.

Select S3 tower heater instruction booklet did not give enough detail on setting up but Herschel reply email on doing calibration got me started, thank you.
The Select S3 height is huge, could be better if sized to fit under tables, my thought. Plus an obvious small front light to show heater is operating, over and above underside power light and top glass touchscreen.
For potential customers to judge infrared panel heater effectiveness over a few days, Herschel need a country wide list of numerous hotels/guesthouses with these heaters in rooms. At this time we are disappointed in the lack of long term experience available for a non-standard heating system, over and above the Avonmouth/Bristol showroom.
At this time my wife is very disappointed with the Select S3, just does not feel any heat over 6 inches away. Myself I am struggling to find words for the heater effect, cannot suggest like winter sun shine warmth but its got a fresh comfort. regards

I have purchased three Herschel heaters and on all three occasions, the items were well packaged and delivered promptly.

The company’s website describes this as providing supplementary heat, which is a fancy way of saying it’s not much good. You have to sit very near to feel any heat, which will be mainly on your legs - a cheaper way of getting the same result is to put a rug on your legs. The controls are awkwardly placed at the bottom, and I’m not faffing with an app to use a portable heater. This is an expensive heater which provides hardly any heat.

We are part way through the renovation of our home, but decided to install most of the panels in the first increment.
The service from Herschel has been exemplary from an initial enquiry and an adhoc visit to the Bristol showroom through to surveying and suggesting what our requirement would be.
Ordering via the website was very easy based on the survey results, and delivery fast and accurate.
We used a local electrician to install without any issues. We made a small changed to the survey because we wanted two panels to be controlled by one unit, but the over order of the control units was rectified in the second installment.

The panels look, feel and install like quality items.

Recommended. Once the renovation is complete and solar/battery system installed I will provide an update.

I was unhappy with my purchase, but they dealt with my complaint brilliantly. They are a very kind and understanding company to work with, but I recommend contacting them to discuss your needs. Having re-examined their website, they offer this opportunity so you can make the right choices.

This is our third panel. Excellent. The panel was badly damaged by the courier but customer service at Herschel were great. No issue. Damaged panel collected after 2 days and replacement in 3 days.

I have bought 2 from them. The first one - the square box, I can move around (which I do). I was persuaded that the thermostat was ok but not so sure. The bathroom towel rail one works well but not so powerful, I understand that but the thermostat is correct. The box one....the thermostat has never worked properly. It starts at 9° whatever the temperature. It goes up fast and the temperature never shows correctly. It shows at around 24° when it is about 18/19 degrees, therefore turning itself off. The thermostat is useless on this expensive model and I could not seem to convince anyone of this. I would still like a response from them as they are good heaters.

3rd time buying from Herschel
Yes, they cost a bit more than other makes but having had experience of 3 other manufacturers Herschel win hands down for their controls which are far superior and more user friendly than any of the others. IR panel construction is pretty similar, but I now know that its the controls that are the most important aspect.

Around 5 years ago as part of our house upgrade we decided to install XLS panels in each room. Since we have installed them we have experienced multiple failures.

Sitting room 3 failures
Bedroom 1 1 failure
Bedroom 2 1 failure
Kitchen 2 failures
Each time our supplier has arranged replacements. Each time I have asked for the reason why they have failed. The supplier is told not to return them.
Only 1 of the original panels is working. This is in a bedroom and not often used.
We get around 1 - 3 years life out of the panels.
We have had our electricity supply checked by the qualified Electrician who installed and replaces the panels and there is no issue with the supply. The house was rewired at the time of original installation.
I am hugely disappointed with the product and even more frustrated by the lack of technical support diagnosing the problems.

Having read the reply from Herschel regarding my review of their product, it is at best, somewhat misleading regarding the panels being "out of warranty".
4 of the 5 original panels failed within the 5 year warranty period. The replacement panels failed again in under 3 years. Herschel informed me that replacement panels do not come with a warranty, therefore their comment is invalid and misleading.

The pcb went on one of our ceiling mounted panel. Within hours there was a new pcb being sent from Herschel direct to us. No hassle. Pcb came today at 2pm just two days after reporting the issue. By 3pm it was fixed and working again. Brilliant service, brilliant customer service. Brilliant product and would only ever buy Herschel IR panels.
