Great help from a rather cool assistant in the Manchester Arndale store who helped process an online order with an HMV voucher. Delivery was prompt and really well packaged. Faultless.

Yesterday
Yesterday, me and my friend (both regular hmv buyers) visited HMV while we were on a day out, taking photos. We took literally 3 photos with the vinyls on a small digital camera (nothing disruptive, we handled them carefully and stayed out of people’s way) when a staff member came over. The WHOLE time he was giving us a dirty look and speaking in a condescending tone.
Instead of politely asking us to stop (even though I don’t see the issue with it anyway as we weren’t doing anything harmful), he starts acting confrontational and passive aggressive towards us — “are you going to buy these?” followed by “so what’s the point?” He also asked us if we asked to take these, which is like… we weren’t doing a whole photoshoot, just 3 pictures holding vinyls..
He carried on until I eventually said that we’ve done this before and there wasn’t an issue, and then he walks away saying ‘put them back when you’ve finished’ (As if we weren’t gonna do that anyway…)
It just felt unnecessarily rude. We were being respectful and literally just enjoying the shop. IF there is a no-photos policy that we somehow didn’t know about, he could’ve communicated that to us respectfully and we left feeling a little uncomfortable by this interaction. Be nice to people and don’t expect them not to give back the same energy that you’re giving to them❤️

Excellent service
Terry was very helpful and knowledgeable when I went to the store, friendly too!
There was a slight issue with the delivery, but he went out of his way to make sure that we received the order and made me feel reassured, that everything would go to plan.

I found the customer service excellent.I found the member of staff to be helpful, knowledgeable about the subject and very professional an he could not help me enough. I have always tried to support my local hmv. And on this experience, I will keep doing so.And will not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.
