Pepijn is an experienced, enthousiastic and very profound surfcoach. He analyses accurately and very quickly what the level of a surfer is and what feedback is needed for the respective surf level.
He also creates a personal atmosphere in which he invites everybody to understand that there is no pressure, but fun and enjoyment in the process of learning, something I really appreciate and makes Pepijn stand out.
I would highly recommend Pepijn as a surfcoach.

Bijzondere ervaring! Ondanks dat ik al jaren surf heb ik in een paar uur zoveel geleerd over hoe ik beweeg op de golf. Pepijn neemt de tijd om alles te herhalen en op meerdere manieren uitleg te geven zodat iedereen het begrijpt. De video analyse was ook heel nuttig, en leuk om verbetering te zien binnen een paar uur surfen! Leuke en veilige omgeving om een beetje uit je comfortzone te gaan!!

Had a great coaching day with Pepijn at Rif010. Without doubt one of the best investments I have made in my surfing. Pepijn's analysis of my surfing was super clear and made me understand how to improve. This in personal and fun way. During the second session of the day I already felt (and saw) my progression in the water.

All in all, would highly recommend if you're looking to improve your surfing and have a fun day!

I booked two days of coaching with Pepijn in wavepool Rif010 and am super happy with how much I learned in just these days.

I’ve been going on surf trips for years and have been mostly just going down the line, with little idea of what to do on a wave. The coaching really helped me to understand how I can start to introduce some maneuvers (cutback, bottom and top turns) in my surfing. Pepijn is able to come up with clear and actionable advise on how to practice this during a session. Having a clear understanding of how to take my surfing to a next level certainly rekindled my stoke!

Finally, Pepijn makes everyone feel comfortable and creates plenty of space for people to learn and practice at their own pace.

Pepijn has an immensely valuable coaching approach. After joining his coaching trip last year, I recently followed up with a Rif010 day session. The progress I have been able to make, thanks to the insights he has helped me form, was very clear and apparant!

Before the Rif010 coaching day I was a bit nervous about my level (intermediate beginner) and whether I would be able to participate well enough to get some progress. Completely unnecessary! From the first second Pepijn created a super relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. As for my progress; I’ve learned so much during the coaching day. The wipwap and box will stay with me forever! Pepijn also took plenty of time for each of us during the video analysis so you could really focus on your own specific points. Extremely useful and also very motivating! I’d recommend anyone who wants to boost their progress a coaching day with Pepijn, good vibes and great teaching

I had the opportunity to attend a full day of coaching at rif010. This included introduction, 2 x 1 hour of surfing the 150 cm wave in the wave pool including immediate feedback from pepijn after every wave, and 3 hours of video coaching. Pepijn is passionate about coaching, he gives his best and full self the whole day! It was awesome!

This session at the wavepool was unreal! Practicing on a perfect, consistent wave makes all the difference. Add Pepijn’s coaching and video breakdowns, and you’re guaranteed to level up fast.

He spots the small details that change everything, gives you clear tips, and you get to test them on the very next wave. His energy is contagious and makes every wave more fun.

I improved more in this single day than at any surf camp I’ve done. Can’t wait to get back in the pool and push it even further. 100% recommend this to anyone who wants real progress!

What a great day with Pepijn in Rif010! Full day masterclass; with clear and practical feedback during and after each surf session. His detailed video analysis supported me to adapt & execute my changes.

I'm definitely more confident now with a solid kick off/drop and gaining more time for my turns and standing relaxed on my board!

Yesterday, I did a video coaching session with Pepijn at Rif010. Two times an hour of surf, two times video analysis. A wavepool is the perfect place to work on you surftechnique due to a consistent wave (repetition is best for improvement) and tips inbetween waves (pepijn is filming on the side and you can have a small chat in between waves.

After a brief introduction on what kind of wave we were surfing we went into the water. The group was 9 people, and you will join the regular surf session (20 people) for a wavecount of appr. 10-12 waves per hour.
Afterwards a delicious lunch, and than on to the video analysis.

I had been working on my bottom turn a lot and on my top turn, both in the water, and on a surfskate on the flats and in a pool. There you can do a lot of repetitions but you still need to translate it into the water.

Pepijn gave a lot of good tips, but the ones helping me out the most were, stay high and take time during the popup, lean into the wave going down, lean to bottom turn, come up with the arms open and start looking over the other shoulder for the topturn already when comming up and than hooooooooooold. The first time it worked out perfect felt like an hour of holding my position, but it worked out perfectly!>

I had an amazing and super educational week! Pepijn’s coaching was spot on — daily group analysis with room for personal tips, and the one-on-one session was especially helpful. He could adapt seamlessly to all levels, from intermediate to advanced. The group dynamics were great as everyone was dedicated and eager to learn, which made the experience even better.

For me the video analysis in the group session was the most valuable part — seeing yourself surf and discussing improvements together made a big difference. I had high expectations coming from New Zealand just to train with Pepijn, and he absolutely lived up to them with his personal and positive approach.

If you’re thinking about joining a coaching week: do it! Just make sure you come in fit — it’ll boost your progress a lot.

Vorige week woensdag een fantastische surfcoach dag met Pepijn gehad boordevol nieuwe theorie en tips die we meteen hebben toegepast!

Vooraf wou ik graag mijn stance verbeteren en meer controle over de techniek krijgen van bochten maken. Ik surf al jaren en vind dat ik best prima me manoeuvreer op vele soorten en groote golven, maar nooit had ik bewust technieken geleerd. Waarschijnlijk wat vele surfers ook hebben: op gevoel en eigen maniertjes kom je heel ver.

Tijdens de coach dag ben ik achter heel veel kleine dingen gekomen, vooral door samen de golven te analyseren en te kijken hoe je die n het vervolg beter kan doen. Super waardevol om je uberhaupt zelf terug te zien en feedback te krijgen, maar nog leerzamer om dit samen met pepijn te doen. Hij gaf ruimte voor eigen interpretatie en leermomenten en stuurde tegelijkertijd aan op een handje vol tips die behapbaar en duidelijk waren om tijdens de tweede sessie te implementeren.
Na de tweede sessie zijn we nog dieper de theorie in gedoken en hadden we vele 'aha-momentjes'. Het voelde alsof een week lang surfcoaching in één dag gepropt werd zonder overkill aan informatie, erg bijzonder hoe Pepijn dit allemaal op een hele relaxe en begripvolle manier weet over te brengen!

Voor iedereen die wat langer surft en die wellicht het grootste deel van de doormaakte leercurve zelf zijn ondergaan is het zeer aan te raden een coach dag met Pepeijn te doen: het geeft je veel meer plezier en zekerheid in je techniek en 'je eigen maniertjes' worden ineens duidelijk waar voorheen dit gewoontes waren die wellicht je tot een blokkade leidde in je leerproces.

Al met al een een top dag vol plezier en leermomenten, iedereen dus aan te raden!

Game-changing surf coaching

I had a full day of coaching with Pepijn Tigges at RIF010 in Rotterdam — and it truly elevated my surfing. Pepijn is calm, clear, and incredibly tuned in. He spots exactly what you need and gives focused, practical tips that stick.

Two surf sessions, every wave filmed, and detailed video analysis in between. His feedback is on point and easy to apply — think “pet the dog, throw the dog” for your bottom turn. It sounds funny, but it works.

I caught 35+ waves in one day and felt real progress — both technically and mentally. I was frustrated at times, but as Pepijn explained: that’s part of the learning curve. And he helps you push through it.

This day felt like a real step forward for my future surfing — clearer understanding, more control, and more confidence in the water.

Amazing coach, I worked with pepijn before in the ocean and i wil use his knowledge and coaching again. He has allot to offer from smal and little details to big changes. This time i joined a rif010 day. 1 day of 2 sessions on perfect artificial waves and made some big changes that take effect immediately. For example i was stuck at my backside could preform any turns bu only could go down the line. After a few waves and analysis and some on land example he showed me how to get on rail. We go back for a second rif010 session and i managed a proper bottom and top turn. A smaller example is that he told me that it might be time to get a smaller board. Wich is a bit easier to get on rail. so it is easyier to i practice the feeling on a more reactive board. The fist time in the ocean on a smaller 7.2 i made my best backside bottom and top turn ever!!!

Pepijn is an excellent and extraordinary surfcoach. If someone deserves the title “full professor” of surfcoaching, he is the first one to receive this degree (in my humble opinion). I have had several surf teachers and coaches for the last 7 years, but their feedback was not as individualized as Pepijn did. He explains the theory very clearly, illustrated with video’s and short excercises. And after each wave you directly receive short feedback. After the coaching session I feel that I have much more confidence on how to progress in surfing. I wish I had received this personalized feedback much earlier in my surf career.

Pepijn coached me in RIF10, the wave pool in Rotterdam. The full day program was very very useful, with lots of personal analyses and handy tips & tricks. I learned a lot!

I went on a coaching week to Vieux-Bouceau with Pepijn. It was a great week with a small, relaxed, group. We had video analysis every evening, and in-the-water coaching from Pepijn as well.
Pepijn has a keen eye and knows well how to pinpoint your improvement points. He has practical advise and can come up with creative exercises to accelerate your practice. He excels at creating a relaxed atmosphere that is supportive to learning!
