I got my first contract ID role just two weeks after graduation! I now have a full time- permanent position as an Instructional Designer for a top health care company in a matter of seven months! IDOL Courses prepared and equipped me to be a successful Instructional Designer in the corporate world.

I had and continue to have a great experience with IDOL courses Academy. If you put in the work, then you will see the reward. IDOL is all about deliberate practice. You have to participant in the mentor sessions, go to the workshops, and go through the modules to really learn what you need to in order to be successful in L&D. I think most people see 8 weeks active cohort and assume that they will be prepared and have landed a job by the end, but if you actually read their website it tells you that the average IDOL lands a job in about 3-6 months. Is it possible to land a job before then? Yes, I did. But I also had the support network around me so that I could put in countless hours studying. IDOL definitely has a formula and it works. But you have to be dedicated and put in the work. I also liked the fact that they have IDOL Talent (job board) and IDOL World (volunteer opportunities with non profits). The network is incredible! I've been able to help other IDOLs get jobs and other IDOLs have been able to help me. The accountability groups within IDOL were also very helpful. Overall, I enjoyed my experience in IDOL and have met all of my goals thus far.

IDOL course academy is a great starting point for anyone looking to transition into the instructional design field. It helped me make the switch from teaching to corporate instructional design. Since I joined I have been able to get contract after contract for various corporate ID roles.

IDOL Academy is one of the most enriching learning experiences I have ever had the pleasure to partake in. The style of the Academy serves to accommodate everyone at their own pace and time frames (adult learning at its best) but also challenges one to new heights given that we will be expected to deliver excellence in the workplace. Practical, engaging, challenging and informative are words which come to mind. Moreover the Academy is about warmware, providing tutors and mentors who are trained to encourage people towards meeting their best. Dr Robin Sargent is the exemplar of this and all kudos to her for the above. Well done to her and her great team! The best aspect of the Academy is lifetime membership, it means ongoing professional support second to none.
