Cycling+ mag not delivered time & again…

Cycling+ mag not delivered time & again for many issuesover late'22 & first half of '23, so switched to digital version, but wasn't happy reading on tablet screen all the time,so reverted to paper copies, but I had not read all of last digital copy, and they all promptly disappeared from tablet. Emailed them & told someone would get back, no surprise that no one has.
I'll be cancelling DD forthwith. A pity as I've been a subscriber since first issue, and Bicycle magazine before that.

Immediate it isn't! 😡

Lies, deceit and incompetence

Shocking experience. Signed up for a cycling plus subscription with a free gift of a bike GPS. They sent the wrong GPS twice! Requests for a refund are ignored and Customer Services advisers will just say anything to get you off the phone.

Virtually impossible to cancel your subscriptions

Trying to cancel a magazine subscription is virtually impossible unless you cancel via direct debit. I telephoned, I was on hold for 7 minutes to find out it's a 55 per minute phone call, a good way to make an extra income.

When you click cancel on their websites, it just hangs, the webpage takes forever to load with no response, another good way to stop you cancelling as you've probably got something better to do and give in trying. Take my advice, save your time and just cancel your direct debit.

Terrible staff, clearly on commission..

Bought a Gardeners World subscription for my partner and had the magazine delivered for some years. A couple of months ago I received a letter explaining that the cost of the subscription would be going up in price by 15%... as my partner had commented that the content wasn't what it used to be and full of awful adverts, she said it wasn't worth having any more. So, I phoned the cancellation line on the letter. The obnoxious woman that answered my call was uncaring and appeared not to be listening to me at all. She haggled with me regards a lower price several times and did not seem to care that I just wanted to cancel the subscription. Finally, and with quite a condescending attitude she agreed to cancel my subscription.
...or so I thought.
A couple of weeks later I recieved another copy of the magazine and found my account had been debited the full inflated price of a 6 month subscription.
Once again I called the cancellation line and spoke to Marco. He couldnt find any record of me cancelling but said he would refund me the full amount.. less the magazine I had received! (Marco basically said that I hadn't cancelled and so I would have to pay for the one magazine I'd received.... even though I'd cancelled it!!)
I'm still trying to get the money back for the magazine I sent back to thier returns address...
I doubt very much I will ever get my money back.......

Terrible.
I subscribed to Love Embroidery through buysubscriptions. It was advertised that I would get 6 issues, and the "gift" would be the materials for a "6 issue stitch-a-thon".
The "gift" has never been received, and the first issue I received was stage 4! So the 6 issues I've bought, although advertised as the "stich-along", were in fact, 6 random issues.
I e-mailed and asked for the back issues instead of continuing the subscription, so I only had 6 issues as I paid for, but they were the correct issues.
I was advised that I could pay more money - yes MORE money, for them to send the back issues and correct their mistake. It was on this reply, that I read this company is affiliated to immediate Media, which has such terrible reviews and is likely a scam!
Reading through others experiences, I too was advertised to through an app so I do believe we have been scammed.
They will not let me cancel, have a refund, or replace what I have paid for.
Would AVOID this company completely. Customer services were no help, and as this was advertised falsely on Instagram, I have contacted them to report the scam.

I have been double charged

I have just discovered that for two or three years they have been charging me double for one magazine via 2 separate direct debits. One via Immediate Media and one via Our Media. They both use a string of non-reply emails from their Contact Us one which gives different emails to send enquiries to. This eventually leads to a link which they offer to raise a query. This requires several fields to be completed to make a query. When you submit the query they say they will get back to you. I am not letting this go and will pursue for a full refund of double charging going back years.

Do not buy magazines through Apps!

Through the Cross Stitch Gold Magazine application on my iPhone, I have purchased over 125 crafting magazines through subscription and bulk purchases. The latest purchase being January of 2023. I have been unable to download or open any of my magazines, including the new ones on any device, platform, or IOS, including older versions. (They are selling without any intention of providing what they sell!). This has been an on going battle for well over a year!

Instead, they put a the following code on my account in app:

I have called several times and sent multiple messages and received zero responses. These are purchases that I have receipts as proof from my Apple Account. Do not buy from this company. They people are scammers and should be prosecuted!

Apple needs to regulate and manage the legitimacy of the applications and services that it allows to sell to customers! I hold both companies fully responsible for scamming and withholding purchased merchandise!

I had to put one star so I could comment. This charge just showed up on my bank statement. Their website says to go to account settings after a purchase to cancel automatic renewal. I never made an account! I guess I’ll have to get my bank to look into it.

I just spoke to my credit card company…

I just spoke to my credit card company re immediate media co.still charging me for a service I have struggled to cancel. The credit card representative explained that immediate media has many accounts and by using different accounts the company is able to evade blocks that have been placed against their charges. My only option is to close my credit card. Does anyone know what fraud charges have been brought against this company?

FRAUDULENT!

What sort of company just DOUBLES the agreed subscription rate,takes the money fraudulently without my agreement and, amazingly, is having "difficulties " accessing my details when I telephone to query this.....IMMEDIATE MEDIA! I had a subscription for Match of the Day, and when I eventually spoke to customer services a charming lady apologised, offered a refund and a better deal, but no email (which I requested ASAP confirming this) arrived. If it ever does, I will, of course, edit this review accordingly........hmmmmm.

Direct Debits taken fraudulently without authority

Subscription for Sky At Night cancelled but they still took the Direct debit. I cancelled the Direct Debit twice more and they keep re-instating it, so reported it as fraud via the Bank for a refund. Constant promises of repayment "in 3-5 days" are lies. Do not under any circumstances take out a subscription with these crooks.

Theft or fraud ??

Is it theft or fraud when a company takes money without agreement from your account?
Weeks later of chasing and it still has not been returned.
This company is not to be trusted in any way. Once they have your account details they put their claws in and don't let go. Buy your magazines direct from a newsagency, donot use Immediate Media, you will regret it!

Bucking the trend I guess. Ordered a single one off publication, order came within 48 hours, well packaged and perfect. Included was a Freepost returns label if I was not satisfied. All in all a great ONE OFF transaction. I doubt very much I would ever take out a subscription though, going by reviews. Direct Debits are a can of worms and I try to avoid if possible. I think they should bring in legislation to curb these "auto" renew scenarios. Make the Banks responsible so any problems you claim it back off them and not have to chase unscrupulous vendors with shady practises.
UPDATE: I ordered a second copy and after a week it has not arrived so watch this space!!!

Shady business practises and poor customer service!

Week what can I say about immediate media other than they are crooks!

They will auto renew subscription to their publications without advising you that it will happen, debit money money from your bank account and then tell you they cannot stop the payments being taken out!

Don’t bother with this company

I subscribed to a knitting magazine ‘Simply Knitting’ for 3 magazines for £5.00, that was at the beginning of January. It’s nearly the end of February and I haven’t had one magazine and they have already taken the £5. When I checked my account it was saying the 3 issues were pending that they were taking £29 in March. Normally this doesn’t happen until you have had the 3 magazines. I emailed customer service who said they were sorry I was cancelling but would action my request. I’m not impressed with this service as I havnt had one magazine and they were planning to take £29 already. Don’t bother with this company they are useless. If I could give no stars I would.
