Kroger Grocery
The Kroger on Camp Bowie west has a terrible odor thru out the store plus they advertise on the radio about having fresh produce but everytime we go there it’s not fresh or they don’t have much of anything.
Kroger’s return policy is ridiculous
Kroger’s return policy is ridiculous. I brought back an item with the tag still on and the exact card I paid with, and they still refused to take it back without a paper receipt. Every other major store can look up purchases by card, but Kroger hides behind this outdated, customer-unfriendly policy. It’s a complete waste of time and makes me not want to shop here again.
Kroger’s Struggles and Customer…
Kroger’s Struggles and Customer Relations Issues
Kroger, one of America’s largest grocery chains, has been facing severe challenges following a failed merger. The company has already been forced to close some of its stores, and even more changes are expected amid continued economic uncertainty. Pressure from competitors only adds to the strain, but many of Kroger’s difficulties stem from its own management decisions and poor customer-service practices.
Chronic Out-of-Stock Problems
One of the biggest frustrations for customers is Kroger’s inability to keep popular items in stock. Time and again, advertised sale items are unavailable—either because management fails to order sufficient quantities or because there is a belief that customers will settle for higher-priced substitutes. Unlike many competitors, Kroger often refuses to issue rainchecks on out-of-stock sale items. This leaves customers frustrated and discouraged from returning.
Even more frustrating is that raincheck policies vary from store to store. Some managers do not issue them at all, while others impose arbitrary limits (5 items at one location, 20 at another). When customers escalate complaints to Kroger’s corporate office, the issue is simply routed back to the same store management, and rarely addressed in good faith.
Restrictive Coupon Policies
Another unpopular policy is Kroger’s handling of its “buy 5, save more” promotions. Customers are only allowed to use the offer once per week, even though the sale runs for seven days. Most other retailers allow repeat use during the promotion period, but Kroger’s restrictive rule forces customers to either make multiple trips or miss out entirely. This practice gives the impression that Kroger is more interested in protecting margins than rewarding loyalty.
Customer Service Barriers
Adding to the frustration is Kroger’s limited customer service hours. While stores are typically open until 11 PM, the service desk often closes around 8 PM. This prevents shoppers from returning items, obtaining rainchecks, or resolving pricing errors during evening hours—a significant inconvenience.
Shoppers also report that too many locations operate with only one staffed register at a time, pushing customers toward self-checkout whether they want it or not.
Price Competitiveness Concerns
Kroger heavily advertises “lower prices,” but in practice, many competitors beat them. For example, 12-packs of name-brand soda at Kroger often run $10.95 each, with promotions like “buy 2, get 2 free” (bringing the price down to $5.47 each) or “buy 2, get 3 free” ($4.38 each). By comparison, other retailers regularly sell the same brands for $8.55 per pack, or three for $12.00, and also provide store coupons ($5 off $25) plus frequent manufacturer coupons ($2-3 off three 12-packs). The net cost can drop as low as $2.66 per pack—far below Kroger’s sale pricing.
Kroger rarely offers manufacturer coupons that can be stacked with store promotions, raising questions about whether management is keeping supplier discounts instead of passing them on to customers.
Bottom Line
If Kroger wants to stop its decline, it must address these deep-rooted management issues. The retailer’s top-down approach, dismissive attitude toward customer complaints, restrictive coupon policies, and inconsistent service are driving shoppers elsewhere. Without meaningful reform, Kroger risks losing even more ground to competitors who treat their customers with fairness and respect.
Kroger store, Huntington, Indiana .... Kroger company/employees removing my Google reviews!
.....This Kroger grocery store in Huntington ,Indiana is a good store that could use some improvement, mostly in not misleading customers in pricing, and should end the "digital coupons" , just having a product on sale would be better for customers!
That being said, they are improving, and it seems as though this store has hired a "new" manager, and as far as I know seems to be very good.
..I appreciate the discount fuel that helps in savings.
...The Kroger brand products are always good quality, food is fresh and the store is clean, just an older store.
...Most of the employees that work at this store are of very good quality , with the exception of maybe two nasty, useless "employees" the 1st one is a nasty old lady that I have seen work for Krogers for about 11 years, mostly at the deli, she refuses to do anything for customers, just a paid useless employee. The 2nd disgraceful employee is (Danielle), that works at the front desk/ front of store and does nothing at all and has no intelligence whatsoever, just creating a hostile environment towards customers, and gets paid for this.
...That being said, I also noticed that the Kroger company in their marketing/advertising, has some contempt for "European Americans", and other than this ,Kroger is a pretty good store.
...Again , I like the store , but I do not appreciate Kroger co. , or employees removing my "Google" reviews!
...An honest Google review I posted on January 7th, 2026....it was a 4 star review, (being generous). The Kroger company, or employees still removed my review!
Kroger Fail Boost Let Down
I’m a Kroger Boost member, and my upcoming order was a complete DISASTER. EVERY SINGLE FROZEN ITEM—16 IN TOTAL—WAS MARKED UNAVAILABLE, and not one substitution was offered. These were all common brands like Lean Cuisine, Stouffer’s, Red Baron, and Haagen-Dazs.
Even more confusing, I was notified the NIGHT BEFORE DELIVERY—which has never happened in any of my past orders. I usually receive updates between 6–8 AM the day of delivery. This change in timing, paired with the total failure to fulfill or substitute ANY frozen items, suggests a serious breakdown in the system.
I called customer service, and the representative had to contact the warehouse. The only thing I was told is that there was “no explanation” for what happened, and that if I had picked substitutions, they would’ve tried to fulfill them. But I DID CHOOSE SUBSTITUTIONS, and the app still showed 0 FULFILLED. That’s not acceptable.
I canceled the order because I no longer trust the fulfillment process. I’m frustrated and disappointed. This doesn’t feel like a normal out-of-stock situation—it feels like a system failure.
Boost members deserve better.
Trash company who'll take your money and refuse to deliver
Bought a gift card. Didn't receive it for 4 hours. Called customer service and they said there's an issue and wait 24 additional hours. 27 hours later I call again because clearly I still didn't get it and they said they escalated the issue and would need another 24 hours. I said I wanted my money back and they said they would send me a refund request confirmation email. Hour and a half later I still haven't gotten it yet. This company will jerk you around and throw arbitrary waiting times in the hopes that you forget that they took money out of your account and didn't deliver a product. Trash company.
3 strikes (or more) you're out
I've used ordering online with curbside pickup for several years...too many inconsistencies... while Kroger has good quality and great prices...I feel better being in control of the experience....less disappointments...and would be my fault if any issues.... personally, I would not recommend pickup or delivery... however, I would highly recommend in-store shopping.
Ms. Bennie our cashier
I’m giving 6 stars because of our cashier Ms. Bennie. She works at 9484 Ellerbe Rd. Shreveport,La and we hope that Kroger appreciates her as much as we do.
What a lovely human!
Keep it up Ms. Bennie we need more like you
Great Products & Prices But....
I love Kroger's products, however, I reached out to Kroger in June 2025 regarding one of their products (Simple Truth Organic Mushroom Coffee) asking how many mg of each of the mushrooms listed were in the coffee. I have not heard back from as of yet. It would be beneficial to have that information.
PUMP STATION KEEPS GETTING THE PRINT OPTION TURNED OFF
BAD INTENTIONAL BLOCKING OF THE PRINT OPTION AT PUMP STATION AND CARD TRANSACTION CANCELLED:
This store location has been reported by me before internally to their customer retention in the past 6 months. I have had multiple instances where the employee walked out to see who was at the pump then the pump was knocked offline and when it occured I moved to another one and that happened at that pump as well. It was declining my credit card (can be checked via their video feed and via TMobile across the street as well as by going back through their sales from the pumps) and it once I got it to take it; it would print the receipt. They don't have the right after including a charge /fee for their processor fees so they have to print these receipt and need to stop interrupting my .03 discount when I scan my card. I advised this company upon proving that this is still happening. Each time they rotate out their temporary or part-time personnel. They did this all post pandemic and tried forcing me to stop coming to their pump station because ai refuse to visit that store due to customer and employee harassment.
If they don't want me as a customer with no valid reason to say so; say that to me so I can process with a civil rights violation law suit against them. They had this pump issue stopped. I even change my credit card after I notified these folks that the issue lies with not my credit card for that credit / debit card issue discovered by MasterCard. My card has no issue but I got a new one to proven them wrong. This was just another way to have people fake creating jobs or activity for made up positions by having a card sent out (meaning, you request the card and the down stream activities have to occur - ordered, 3D printed locally, mailed, delivered by the horrible UPS service. All this to justify having these people in staff and the payroll protection plan loans or grants they were using under yet another sub contracted group.
Fix this mess permanently and stop their ability for doing a no print locally or turning off the sales when I was in the middle of a payment trying to get the device to work. It started at pump one then moved to pump 2. What is wrong with your stations and/or your rude people trying to hide their snide remark because I know I indicated what pump number I had been using. You cannot go out to some other site or use your access to shares information and try to keep me from paying with a card and/or from getting a receipt because at one visit it was pertinent that I had my receipt so that I could turn in the transaction code and ID which isn't available on the credit card side.

Could not cancel my trial membership online. I got an error message. Could not get through over the phone. All it could do is tell me about were my orders.
Buyer beware
At the Scott Depot/Hurricane WV Krogers I put in for a delivery on 06/17/2025. Somehow Starbucks k-cups were added to my order. But I also did not receive them. The picker or delivery driver is enjoying the coffee at my expense! Do not do an online order for delivery. It will be screwed up. Although Kroger refunded the money. But the customer should not have to be put through this bad experience!!
This location is on Hamilton Ave in…
This location is on Hamilton Ave in North College Hill, OH. The store was out of seven items on my shopping list, including of all things, Kroger brand Parmesan cheese??!!! The staff was marginally helpful. I finally resorted to asking fellow customers. They all said the same thing: the store is awful, go to the Northgate location in Colerain Township. The Apple Pay was not working at the self-checkout, so I tried to use my fairly new (a couple of months old) chip debit card. It wouldn’t read the chip! The attendant came over and basically stood on one foot and faced due East to get it to work. The customers who were in the store were picking up a single or two items and didn’t want to drive all the way up Colerain Ave. A truly awful experience, and the worst is that I have to go to ANOTHER grocery store to pick up the out-of-stock items. SHAME, Kroger.
Years of outstanding shopping
Shopped at Kroger or partner stores for my entire adult life. Never had a problem they were not willing to fix unlike any number of other stores I've shopped. Mistake on pickup order price? Refunded or adjusted without question. Missing item? Refunded. Bad product quality? Refund. Need an Rx right away? Pharmacists do what they can to help get it done. They have good prices, products, and after all this time shipping with them I have nothing bad to say.
Bait-and-Switch Billing On pick up orders
$86 grocery order turned into a $134 charge — without my permission.
Smith’s decided to swap out my $20 brisket for a $60 cut of meat. No call. No notice. No option to approve. Just a nice surprise charge to my account. Oh, and they charged me for 3 pineapples. I got 1.
When I contacted customer service, they refused to refund me and offered store credit for money they had no right to take in the first place. This isn’t customer service—it’s bait and switch billing.
This isn’t even the first time they’ve pulled this with me. It’s a pattern. I’ve filed a dispute with my bank and reported them to the BBB. If you shop with Smith’s/Kroger, double-check your receipts—because apparently, they charge first and ask never.
Went to Krogers che ked out
Went to Krogers che ked out - realized I paid full price for crablegs didn't get digital price turned back to ask guy that bagged groceries - but before I could ask question he stated I'm busy right now - went to customer service for assistance.
Kroger in Richmond Texas at spring…
Kroger in Richmond Texas at spring green and Westpark toll is awesome but
Tried to buy a simple garden hose
Tried to buy a simple garden hose. To replace the simple garden hose that broke after 11 months. Not so fast, no hoses in stock.
If you don't want be be in the retail business, why be in the retail business? Oh, by the way, I just sold my Kroger stocks and bonds.
Never buy a gift card from Kroger
Never buy a gift card from Kroger! My mom bought two Amazon gift cards from them for Christmas, neither one of which was activated. They replaced one of them. But the other I've been trying to get replaced for two months, and they continue to put me off and play games. I've made more than 10 phone calls and they still haven't resolved it. Do yourself and favor and shop someplace else.
I shopped in Kroger on Good Friday…
I shopped in Kroger on Good Friday getting items for Easter Sunday while on the phone with my mom! my dad CNA put him in the tub and he slipped getting out. My dad has been down for about six years now due to a major stroke and it has taken the effort of us kids plus the CNA‘s to help out around the house, so my mom was telling me I need to hurry and come to her house to help get him up so I told the cashier is self check out what my mom was saying because she saw my face in a panic and she began to help me to get my things bagged up. Once I got to my mom’s house, we got my dad up and was able to help put Him in the bed And then I be to get the groceries out of the car. I didn’t know that a few bags was missing until Saturday night when my mom began to put her food on and started telling me that she didn’t have two pack of sweet potatoes and I had three she didn’t have any milk and I bought six and a few more items that she could not remember. While I was in Kroger, I mentioned it to the girl that was at the register and she told me that Kroger was not like no other stores they do refund or items that you left in the store, just tell the girl at the front desk. The girl at the front desk I’m thinking is the same girl that was in the deli and I had problems out of her in the deli. She never wants to cook any food and you are already booked. You can place an order. I’m thinking that she’s that girl. The lady told me that Kroger was not responsible for bags left behind in the grocery store and especially the ones at self checkout. You are responsible for your own groceries and therefore she cannot allow me to get the items that I had originally paid for and left behind in the store. I told her the lady that was at the self check out name and I will try to contact her through Facebook messenger and I know that messenger will show you that someone is trying to contact you, and she never responded to my message. I feel if I was a different race, it wouldn’t have been any questions asked because they don’t want those problems with those people. So I left out of Kroger with only the items that I came in to purchase that day not the items that was left behind in the grocery store. This is why I shop with Walmart because Walmart has their flaws, but they stand behind whatever they say, and they honor their customers. I have bought the sweet potatoes 1100 times again but why should I when I paid for them and left them in the store? The cashier was telling me how ugly they look, but I got them anyway!! Kroger needs to get it together or you’re going to start seeing a lot of your customers not the older people because they deal with y’all start leaving! You never have anyone at your customer service desk and then when you do, they refuse to honor your bags, knowing that you could have easily left them by mistake mistakes happen!
