If I could give no stars i would
If I could give no stars i would, just back from Lidl in northwood santry, one checkout open and self-service ones only take card, I had only cash on me as did the guy behind me, I had 4 items he had one item, everytime someone needed help on the self-service the girl on the checkout had to leave and go over to sort it out, the queue got longer as this happened 4 times while I was there, then eventually a worker comes over and opens up the other checkout and these 2 guys at the very end of a long queue gets checked out before all the customers that have been waiting for ages, disgraceful service, done going in there after this, they need to treat their customers with a bit of respect in that shop,

I had an issue with a metal shelf that I bought in Lidl. After two and half months and numerous email exchanges later (I have been promised that someone will call me but the same reply was sent over every time) they asking for the same receipt and pictures again....like when I submitted the complaint the first time. It's the worst customer service experience I have ever had and heard of....seriously Lidl can do sooo much better!!!
LIDL DUBLIN ROAD, Swords
LIDL DUBLIN ROAD, SWORDS;
I would like to make an observation about the neglect of plants in Lidl stores. Many many times I have asked store assistants to contact Managers to devise or design a better plant container so plants can be watered and kept alive for customers to buy.
I have taken photos of shrivelled plants, some of which cost €11.99 each but they are ready for the skip.
I asked could they be discounted as food stuffs are but was told that was not possible. What a waste of energy to grow and transport these plants possibly from the Netherlands, The loss of sales for those plants will mean higher prices throughout the stor for all other items, so the customer will have to pay for the loss.
Please, please do something about this big problem of Waste.
Avoid these dishonest scumbags
1000 points converted to €10, activated, but Won't show on bill, despite assistant trying four times. Try Dunnes or Tesco, because this company are rubbish!
Very bad experience in lidl lately
Very bad experience in lidl lately. All the self are empty, same whit freezer nothing in. Pity.
Very Poor Aftersales Support from Lidl
I’m extremely disappointed with the aftersales service I’ve experienced regarding a faulty Parkside petrol lawnmower purchased from Lidl.
The mower was only used approximately 3–4 times before it stopped working completely. What should have been a straightforward warranty issue has turned into weeks of delays, chasing emails, being passed between customer care, QA teams, and external service partners, with very little actual progress.
I followed every instruction given to me immediately — contacted customer care, completed the required forms, registered the fault, replied to the service partner, and provided updates when requested. Despite being repeatedly told my case was marked as “urgent”, I was still left waiting for meaningful contact or resolution.
Meanwhile, my garden has become badly overgrown while I remain without a working lawnmower. The most frustrating part has not just been the fault itself, but the constant delays and lack of clear communication.
To be fair, the Quality Assurance team have recently been more understanding and apologetic, and I appreciate their efforts to chase the matter up internally. However, the overall experience has still been far below what I would expect from a major retailer.
I simply expected a product that had barely been used to either be repaired or replaced promptly without weeks of stress and chasing.

Bought a silvercrest wash/mop in January which worked great until April when one side of the brushes stopped working. I filled in the return procedure online. Then two weeks later i got email from Optimex asking me what parts i needed. I replied to this email and im still waiting.... I have rang and when i can finally get past AI and speak to someone im told someone will call me back!. But nothing i have sent a formal complaint and was told they hadn't received my email to Optimex. I had screenshot it 4 times to customer service agents. Again this morning i rang and was told someone would get back to me but nothing!. The worst customer service i have ever come across, its like they are waiting for you to give up.

Deputy Manager Avi in Bray Displayed Rudeness & Arrogance
I had a highly unprofessional experience with a staff member named Avi at the Lidl, Dublin Rd, Cork Great, Bray. He refused to serve me, claiming his till was closed, yet immediately opened it for two men behind me in the queue.
When I moved to his till to question this, he was rude and argumentative, insisting his logic was right. Avi offered no greeting, no "thank you" for the transaction, and no apology—it was the lowest display of customer service I’ve experienced. When I asked why he took two men over me and if it was a gender issue, he simply said, "it doesn't matter."
Before I could even finish paying, he was already rushing to leave the till. Despite me explicitly asking for my receipt, he ignored me and walked away before the transaction was finished, leaving me to collect it from the till myself. I urge management to review the CCTV of this interaction; this should be the starting point for training Avi in customer service.
Only when I asked his name did he reveal he is the Deputy Manager. This level of arrogance from an individual in a managerial position is unacceptable. I have already seen the cold, automated "copy & paste" template Lidl uses to reply to my review, which is a perfect reflection of the dismissive attitude I received in-store.
Clearly, Lidl in Dublin Rd, Cork Great, Bray doesn’t care about staff accountability or basic respect for female customers. You have lost not just one, but a neighbourhood of customers in the Dargle area.

NOT TO BIG TO FAIL.I have been trying to return a product…
I have been trying to return a product with a 3 year warranty for several weeks now but to no avail,it used to be a great shop for the odd return .except now you have to jump through multiple hoops just to contact them .So i say AVOID LIDL SHOPS EVERYWHERE AS THEY DONT CARE.The staff were friendly but thats changed at least in bundoran ,donegaĺ IE. Sadly they have turned into bad tempered people with their eyes only on the clock .I say to lidl ireland that big companies fail too and dont expect people to put up with your ignorance and bad manners.
Ignore complaints
Sent in a legitimate complaint about something, completely ignored complaint.
Faulty Lawnmower
I purchased 2 vacuum cleaners from Lidl both were faulty. After 8 months of endless emails, texts, phone calls I eventually received a credit note to the value of both vacuums which could only be used in Lidl.
I then purchased a Parkside Lawnmower, the Lawnmower did not operate. I returned the faulty Lawnmower to Lidl one week later to receive a refund.
However I was informed to contact customer service because it was a Petrol Lawnmower.
Lidl Customer service is atrocious majority of staff are rude and unhelpful. Lidl are not a reasonable or customer friendly company.
It is ludicrous that Lidls store sole response was to direct me to customer service instead of doing the right thing and issuing a refund and an apology.
Based on my experience I would not recommend Parkside Lidl products or Lidl.
I would issue no stars.
Avoid the rice!
Bought a microwave rice product with what turned out to be thick chunks of red mould in the bottom. Absolutely vile. The FSAI carried out an investigation into it to determine it was mould, I had thought it was some type of meat.
Through the FSAI lidl gave the most stock 'sorry for the inconvenience' answer. Absolutely done with them.
In Greenhills, Tallaght.
I bought pork rib rack size
I bought pork rib rack, on th package says 500gr but when I measured it, it was 340gr.
Also inside package was half of the outside package size.
Lidl's Deluxe strawberries …
Would advise not to buy lidl's Deluxe strawberries, unless they are going to be used within 24 hours.. Very low quality. Bought pack of strawberries on the 18th April 26. Opened pack and took 1 strawberry out same day, left rest in fridge.
2 days later went to take strawberries from fridge but a mould had grown on some of the strawberries. I decided not to use them and return them to Lidl.
It was Thursday 23rd I returned to Lidl in Artane. Assistant at till called manager. Manager refused to give refund as item was over 5 days old. The fact that it was obvious container was still full made no difference to non Irish manager. If I had taken more than 1 strawberry, I could understand. Good to know such an issue was made over approx €4. Manager's should be advised to ' use their head and common sense when dealing with a customer " Maybe ' cop on " only relates to the Irish .
Going forward will only be buying M&S and Tesco strawberries as far superior quality.
Also managers must not be aware there is currently a fuel crisis and the cost of petrol has increased, therfore I was not going to drive to Lidl to return 1 product !!
I feel in the last number of years Lidl's customer service has decressed, not that it ever was of a high standard but definitely disaproving even more.
Apparently the staff decide what is "worth it" for me.
The staff here changes very often. Today's lot were a miserable lot. I bought a bottle of wine I thought was on offer. After checking out at the one check out that was open I realised I had taken a more expensive wine and not one that was on offer so I decided to exchange it. I started walking back with just the wine and the receipt and a staff member who was at the self service tills asked me could he help me. I said I wanted to change the wine. He said " you will have to go to the girl on the till". It was the way he said it, very loud, very snappy to me it made it sound as if I was caught doing something untoward. So I said but you asked me. He went on he couldn't help me still with an unpleasant edge to his voice. I just laughed it off and went to get the wine I wanted. As directed I went back to the till where I purchased it. Three people were ahead of me the last one kindly let me go first. The first customer went through and second one was nearly finished when the staff member told me to go to the next till where there seemed to be someone opening up. I went over and there were two staff there one at the till and the staff member who "couldn't help me". No niceties straight into"did you pay by card". She voided one and then checked out the cheaper one. I realised I hadn't told her the wine was on offer and I said it to her. She said " you didn't tell me" I said I know but I was queuing there and I was sent here so I didn't think to say it. She said again "you didn't tell me". So she did what she needed to do and handed me the receipt and said "there, it was well worth it" I actually didn't think so. All that to swap out one item ?
Expensive
Expensive, expensive and doing that silly Tesco thing they do with their app as in, only reductions with app. I am so over apps! And then if you self checkout you have to use your receipt as a get-out-of-jail card. Aldi all the way. I only went to Lidl as I was in a different area today.
