My 80 year old mother ordered something from Ideal World a couple of weeks ago which she had a good dressing down from me about due to them being known for pulling stunts like this
then yesterday £104 was tried to be extracted from her account by Lifestyle+
My mother can barley understand how to pay for something over the phone nevermind some free offer that has to be opted out of
You people should be ashamed for trying to scam oap's
You can point to the terms all you want you know full well that 80% of your userbase have no idea what you are doing or offering them they just hear free

After googling this and reading many of these comments, I can actually say I'm appalled. This company has tried twice to take 104.94 out of my account. I have never bought anything from ideal world so I want to know how this company Lifestyle has gotten my bank details??? They are trying to commit fraud on a large scale. This needs taken to the police or whoever needs to know this to make it stop. Good job my bank is on the ball and have blocked this company. Just letting you know Lifestyle, your being reported. So angry.

This is an absolute sham of a company.
After purchasing one item from ideal world I received a phone call a few days later explaining to me that as a first time buyer I would be entitled to free gifts.!
The free gifts never arrived however an envelope arrived from lifestyle plus with a free packet of seeds in it I threw the envelope in the bin as it was such a load of crap just various leaflets asking you to purchase things.
It then turned out that the seeds were the free gift and the offers were also part of it. They took £104 out of my bank account as apparently within that envelope of various offers of rubbish was a piece of paper Which was a contract for me with lifestyle plus!
I am currently in the process of trying to get this back. I have asked for a copy of the transcript because there is no way that I would agree to join lifestyle plus. I only wanted a hairbrush from ideal world.
At no stage was I told that they had my bank details which was obviously passed on to them by ideal world. They have told me the agreement was made verbally for them to take money out of my account. I am now seeking legal advice
Absolutely fuming DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY

I too was contacted by this company after my first purchase from ideal word it was very much sold to me as a “have a look through and contact us if interested conversation” I SPECIFICALLY asked that if I agreed to receive the literature I definitely wouldn’t be charged anything. I was ASSURED they would contact me before taking anything. 21 days later my bank contacts me about a possible fraudulent bank transaction for £104.94 !!!! I believe this is MISSELLING ON A GRAND SCALE at the very minimum. Interestingly they tried to take the money at 2.40 am! Did you know you can ask the bank to put a block on a company to prevent them trying to take money in the future. I will never be interested in lifestyle plus OR ideal world either who must be complicit in this set up. Avoid! - the “deals” are rubbish anyway

Just got my money back from these crooked company. Holding my card details I believe is illegal. Using an opt out scheme is a con. After days of screaming on the phone I received an email stating they were right. Ask for a RECORDING of the so called acceptance. Yes we’ll get it to you. 6 days later they had re-revued and REFUNDED. Still believe them to be crooked.
Alan Lewis
Dear Mr Lewis,
Following our recent communication, we have since been informed that there was a miscommunication. Upon further review we will be refunding the total of £104.94 back to you.
Whilst the terms and conditions were read as expected of the advisor, there were also questions towards the end of the call regarding the sign-up procedure and it is possible there was misunderstanding here. Complete understanding and transparency are priorities to us and as such, we decided to re-evaluate and reverse the initial decision.
The refund has been processed today and will be back with you within the next 3-5 working days. We do apologise for the inconvenience.
Kindest regards,
Kelsey

This is a scam, they call you and say they are sending you complimentary vouchers for .98p and if at a later stage you can take the annual subscription, you let them send you the vouchers and all of a sudden if you don't ask them to cancel they automatically after 21 days charge you £104 for an annual subscription, I didn't even open the package as I didn't think I had to cancel anything. do not be fooled like me.

Conning old women out of money. I can't express how enraged I am that you did this to my grandmother. Ideal world keep sending her stuff she never asked for & now they've given her card details to a 3rd party con artist company "ideal lifestyle" who took it upon themselves to sign her up for a subscription SHE NEVER ASKED FOR. You won't get a penny because the bank has been contacted & her card cancelled, the bank has taken all the garbage you sent her & have passed it to their fraud department. Turns out banks don't like it when you try robbing their customers. I will also be taking legal action against both companies. This is at minimum a violation of data protection & fraud.
Disgusting behavior.
& Kindly miss me with your lying copy & paste response.....

DISGUSTING! Like many others, I was rang up after making my first purchase on ideal world. Was told it was some offers for me to look through free of cost and took a password (thinking the password was just for if i needed to get through to them, it was ease of access and a line of security). I was told absolutely nothing about being signed up for a 21 day trial and having to ring up to cancel (almost everything nowadays is able to be cancelled online, but not these guys). BASICALLY A SCAM, NEVER TOLD ABOUT BEING SIGNED UP TO ANYTHING, AND NEVER TOLD THEY HAD MY BANK DETAILS FOR THIS 3RD PARTY REWARD SCHEME WHERE THEY'D SET UP A DIRECT DEBIT!
Intend to cancel when I can get through to their lines otherwise its going to be a banking dispute.
Don't reply to me with legal crap that's hidden in T&C's on the leaflets and letters sent out. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE 1ST THING YOU TOLD PEOPLE WHEN SENDING THIS OUT!
I suffer with Mental Health problems, and companies like you make NONE OF IT BETTER YOU SPINELESS SCAM ARTISTS!

Never purchased anything from this company or an associated company. Received a letter today thanking me for accepting a trial to Leisure Lifestyle which includes my bank account details and a claim that I will be paying £399/month.
Disgusting criminals who prey on the vulnerable.

These people need bringing to account for their unscrupulous attempts to extract money from people's bank accounts, Having ordered a product from idealworld on TV, which incidentally never arrived, but was given a refund A few days later I received a call from lifestyle plus claiming they had a gift pack which if 99p was paid I would receive all of their so called wonderful discounts, A big mistake do not under any circumstances give these robbers your bank details, they have tried several times to take money from my account, by the amount of £24.99 a month. Something needs to be done about this company preying on people. My advice STAY AWAY FROM LIFESTYLE PLUS, SCAMMERS !!!

Made a purchase from Ideal World for £12. Following a phone call I received a Membership Pack on a 3 week trial. No mention of Membership Fee being taken automatically after 3 weeks and no mention of having to cancel the Membership. Also no mention of keeping my card details so they can take payment. UNAUTHORISED PAYMENT TAKEN FOR £104.94. This is fraud and has been reported. I have asked for an immediate refund! Fingers crossed!

Bought a garden product then had a call from a man who said he was sending us a free gift. Nothing came and today I discover a £104 .94 debit on my account from them. Going to speak to my bank now. Big con. I am going to cancel my card, and I will never shop with Ideal World again. I would like to get a number that I can talk to the thieves!

I received the invitation to join this club after a purchase on Ideal World TV shopping. I was unsure, as lots of the offers did not really suit us, so contacted Lifestyle Plus to ask more details. I spoke to Danny who was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, hence the good rating. However the product was not for us, and I cancelled both the Perks and the Lifestyle Plus. There was nothing much in my area, and the voucher scheme does not appeal to us. Also very wary of the extra offers costing £24.99 throughout the year that Ideal World told us about... the fact you have to cancel or be billed is a negative. On cancelling the memberships I got reference numbers for each, although I had to ask for this. Having now read some of these reviews, it seems people are having a bad experience... however, the company were very helpful when I contacted them, and I got through straight away on the Customer Support number on both occassions that I rang them.

My wife bought something from ideal world and then got a call from an ideal world agent offering lifestyle plus. She was told that a pack would be sent out for her to have a look at. There was no mention of her bank details being obtained from ideal world, there was no mention of a 21 day free trial. My wife was informed of an £89.99 fee IF she decided to join. Well we looked at it and very quickly realised the pack was worth less than toilet paper. Oh and there was no mention of cancellation either. Today lifestyleplus just tried to take £104 out our bank account. Thankfully its a spare account we only use for the odd purchase etc so there wasn't enough cash so it declined.
So after doing a bit of research we have found out that you guys are scum. THIEVING off unsuspecting old people misleading people and not providing an adequate service. I will be reporting your company to the financial ombudsman and to the police fraud and corruption team at Scotland Yard. As for my bank details you might as well loose them as I've reported it as stolen so you can't keep trying to take my money.
Dirty rotten bxxtards, it companies like yours that should be allowed to exist. Legalised scams and fraud.

Beware this is a con and they steal your money. They never tell you that there is charge or give you opt options etc. All they said just to look at this and nothing about payment taken from my Bank account

Absolute con. Ordered with IdealworldTV for an item which has been paid and received for. Now they have 'signed me up' for subscription to a club, and charged my card.

Not what I was expecting nor as described by Ideal World agent who caught me off guard with an unsolicited sales call on behalf of lifestyleplus. I can get better deals without subscription.
Couldn't get a reply on 01273668835 so rang Rocket Lifestyleplus 01273 647930. Spoke with a young lady called Ella who cancelled my trial membership. Be sure that you obtain a Cancellation Reference Number.

Whilst I joined the Club voluntarily, having shopped at Ideal World, the Club then kept enrolling me in different discount schemes for £24.99 per scheme.
Each time I would receive a letter advising that if I did not want to join the new discount scheme then I should call their number (01273 668835) but that number is never answered!
The emails were not answered either.
So in reading the small print I noted that the Club is administered by Rocket Marketing Group. So I found this number for them online (01273 647930) and although the initial automated call queue system says it's for a different club, when I actually spoke to someone they confirmed this is the right number to contact them on. They opted me out of all future offers and also confirmed that when I get the main membership renewal letter I should call this number again to ensure membership is NOT renewed.
I hope others find this information helpful as it's the only way I could stop them from taking more of my money.
My advice would be not to join in the first place!!

If I could give 0 stars for this company I would.
I purchased from Ideal World and was then asked if I wanted to trial lifestyle for 99p and then if I liked it then I could pay an annual fee or cancel by phone.
I have rang for days and days and they dont answer the phones to allow you to cancel.
In the end I have had to spend nearly £7 to send a registered, signed for letter to their company address as well as having the hassle of contacting Ideal world and my credit card provider to not allow them to take the £90 annual fee.
An absolute con.
