Bad all around.

One shipment arrived a day late (ups screwed up) with dead specimens. Their guarantee claim process is weird. I sent in required photos, they emailed back to ask for clearer photos 3 days after the fact... smells fishy. My second order has been in the cloud for a week - no action on their part. This is pretty unacceptable when dealing with live specimens.

Finally, their packaging is very bad. The box insulation is almost non existent. It's a thin foam box. They wrap the bags with newspapers and include only one ice pack for 85 degree ambient temps at delivery destination. The amount of water inside the bags was MINIMAL. It's scary how little they care for the animals' welfare.

I will not order from them ever again, and you shouldn't either.

I ordered 200 dollars worth of stuff from them before the went dark, bankrupt, whatever happened. I was never credited or refunded when they came back online and they have refused to even acknowledge ripping me off. Screw these people and their business. There are plenty of reputable places to get marine life and supplies online.

Called Customer service about the acceptance of a Purple tang and with my yellow tang. Representative was friendly and knowledgeable.
Got my order overnighted 2 days later, all fish are healthy and are doing fine.

Took a little longer than expected but…

Took a little longer than expected but worth it. Nora had packaged the boxes with my blue velvet Nudibranchs. Really nice thermal material and packing material with cooling pads still doing their job. Beautiful specimens. I have ordered fish previously . They will cancel an order if the fish is not healthy. Which is great! Great job. Thx!

Unreliable is an understatement.

They advertise fish they don't have any intention of selling you. You'll spend time placing an order only for half of it to arrive and then a refund to your credit card...and you'll be lucky if your order arrives on the scheduled shipping date. Customer service is nonexistent. With so many different online options out there, there is absolutely no reason to choose "Live"Aquaria; this company has hit rock bottom in every facet. Never again.

Absolute worst place to order livestock…

Absolute worst place to order livestock on internet!
Total lack of customer support. They're telephones are disconnected, they don't reply to email messages and the livestock they sell arrives DOA. Terrible business.
I will never buy from Live aquaria again!

Cancelled orders, two weeks in a row

Two weeks in a row, I ordered fish and two weeks in a row they were unable tom fill the order... Horrible unless you buy diver's den items. However, even the diver's den fish are not packaged properly and may not survive. Save yourself the trouble and use someone else.
They are not organized or decently run. This business has severe issues.

This place is a joke

This place is a joke. You place an order, pay for it, expect it to be shipped, then nothing. FYI, even if the fish is available when you buy it, they don't hold it for you. It has to be in their inventory when they are ready to ship. Whenever that is. No idea when it might show up. No idea if they even have what you ordered. No idea when they will ship it. If you ask, they say check your e-mail midnight the day before it's "supposed" to be shipped. Of course, they don't really know when they will be ready to ship so it's a total guessing game. Can't believe I've been suckered into this poorly run business. Worst experience of my life from a "reputable" business.

Customer DIS-SERVICE

I was on hold for 42 minuts waiting to talk to a representative. Started with me being number 4 in the Q. When I got to be number 1, it said that the person I would like to talk to is not availabe, and I was disconected.
I was trying to report that I received only 10 chromis instead of 13. And at least half of those will not make it due to the poor packing. (I did loose six of the ten within two days) I wonder if they just hate the number 13, or they can only count to up to10?
I kept calling the "customer service" to discuss a credit for the missing three chromis, and more importantly to point to them their slobby packing practice which leads to loss of life of expensive fish. But I never could get through.... Oh that damn "Q"....
I tried email them several times, with no answer.
They used to be much better, when they were Drs Foster and Smith.com but now they have fallen. What a shame!...
NEVER AGAIN!

I would leave zero stars but it doesn't…

I would leave zero stars but it doesn't give me that option. I received two dead fish today. I received the box directly from the UPS driver and it's spent zero time sitting on my porch. I immediately opened up the box to find two bags of dead fish. The bags were far too small for these fish with little to no air in them. Would never order from here again and cannot and get in touch with them for a refund.

No delivery

No delivery. No answered calls or emails. No live chat. Once they get your money, they do not care. I order fish a lot by mail order and usually it is a smooth transaction. These folks are the worst.

Lost my entire stock of fish with the…

Lost my entire stock of fish with the exception of a couple wrasse due to velvet shipped with my purple tang order. Pretty much starting from scratch on my 180 as a result. That’s the last time. Yes, I should have quarantined them first. So my fault in the end, however you would think that you would not have to expect this from a company that has been around for years.

Ordered fish and snails from them on…

Ordered fish and snails from them on December 26th and they decide to ship it on January 9th, the worst weather we have had in three years. The package was never delivered and they sent me an email saying they would refund my money, but they never did. If you try to call them it’s at least a 3 hour hold time. Most recently they were not even accepting calls and saying their mailbox is full. The last fish I purchased from them was a naso tang that was disease ridden and died in three days. Before you purchase anything try and call them. They will not answer the phone. That’s all the proof you need.

Disapponted handling of fish

First fish was shipped Dec 30 for delivery Dec 31 but was sent out too late and FedEx held the package through New Years Day and delivered Jan 2. Fish was DOA. I don't think it would have survived even if delivery was on time as it was poorly packaged - water bag was wrapped in newspaper and a single heat pack in the hot. Phone LiveAquaria immediately and they gave me credit and ordered a replacement Flame Angel. The second angel arrived overnight Jan 7 and again DOA. Water was extremely cold, single heat pack and poorly wrapped. I used to order from Live Aquaria back before they were part of Petco and never had any DOA and many of these fish lived in my tank for many years. Things have changed and I will not order fish from LiveAquaria again.

Saved Me Thousands of Dollars!!

This place saved me thousands of dollars in lost money!!! I have 12 tanks set up and running in my house. I have a long list of fish that I plan to buy, spanning from freshwater to saltwater of all types. If you know anything about fish then you know you cant buy them all at once and dump them in your tank. You have to phase them in. So I was planning to spend thousands of dollars over several orders. Well Live Aquaria was SO BAD on my first order that I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM again. This place engages in false advertising to start. They show fish In Stock when they aren't. They appear legit on the website but that's where it stops. The website will go so far as to say "If you order by this date then your fish will ship on this date and your order will arrive on this date. Seems pretty straightforward, like it should be because lets face it. Their job isnt hard. All they have to do is advertise what they actually have and then ship those out when they are bought....That's it......But NONE OF THAT IS TRUE. They have no idea what they have in stock. Thet dont keep the website updated. Michelle and Sheila over there that "answer the phones" (After being on hold for 2+ hours) are LOADED WITH EXCUSES. No one there takes responsibility for the clown-show / scam they are running. SO MUCH IS WRONG with this place. Like I said, They saved me thousands of dollars in lost money. STAY AWAY - GO ANYWHERE BUT LiveAquaria

Company will ignore their own guarantee!

One order placed and out of the six Cichlids only three survived. There were two bags, one contained three electric yellow cichlids that had enough water in it to support 1 cichlid and the other bag had 3 blue peacock cichlids which had enough water but they were all males so one had his tail fin chewed off on arrival. Bag #1 electric yellow cichlids with two DOA fish. Water was horrible smelling and there wasnt enough to support three fish for a 24hr period. I filed a claim after i did their acclimation steps. They did get back to me with credit for the two E yellow cichlids. Bag #2 there was plenty of water in this bag for three nonterritorial fish but not when you have territorial fish like cichlids so one of the fish arrived missing most of his tail fin. I still acclimated them all and was not surprised to find the one damaged fish dead within 24 hrs. I filed a claimed right away and have heard nothing. I filed a second claim and have heard nothing! This company had standards back when it was Drs foster and smith. Now it seems to be run by people who dont seem to care. Never again will I order from them. Also they ask who packaged the order. Maybe this is something they should know and why should we tell them this information. They obviously dont care enough to do anything about it based on how they ignore their own claims! Hey Live Aquaria get back to me before i have to do a charge back because you dont follow your own guarantees! Order Number: A4214371
