MyTriathlon was created in 2008 in the early days of triathlon. Two friends who began training together at their local triathlon club went on to race a Sprint distance, followed by an Olympic distance, before finally completing an Ironman together and finishing a mere five minutes apart! Their journey took them to the committee of their local Triathlon Club in Manchester and onto the Boards of British Triathlon and Triathlon England, before they decided to launch the Tatton Park Triathlon. It was to become the third largest triathlon event in the UK, after London and Blenheim.

Poor customer service and unprofessional tone
I ordered an item to a pickup point, which could only be collected until 4 November. After this date, the carrier automatically returns the parcel to the retailer — which is standard practice.
When I contacted MyTriathlon to ask for an update and a refund once the return is processed, I was told it was my responsibility to collect the parcel and that I could “keep, re-sell, whatever you would like to do with the item.”
This tone is surprisingly dismissive for a customer-facing business.
I can’t collect the parcel because it’s no longer available — the carrier clearly states that collection after 4 November is not possible. Despite this, the company insisted on blaming me rather than simply checking with the carrier and waiting for the parcel to be returned as per normal procedure.
It’s disappointing to see a retailer speak to customers this way and refuse to acknowledge basic facts about pickup-point deliveries.
A more professional and helpful approach would have avoided all of this.

We do apologise for the delays with your order being shipped.
I have investigated this for you and I can see we contacted you on the 17/11 to inform you that there was a slight delay with your order being shipped as we were waiting for a delivery to arrive with us which contained your item.
We then informed you on the 20/11 that your item was due to arrive with us that day or the following. I can see you requested for this to be delivered to you on the 25/11 as you would not be home before then.
We shipped your order on the 24/11 and expedited the shipping service to our track 24 hour delivery free of charge to ensure this would be delivered to you for your requested date.
Looking at the tracking information, it does appear there was a further delay with this as there were 3 failed delivery attempts with Royal Mail due to there being nobody home.
The failed delivery attempt dates were the 25/11,27/11 and the 28/11
I can see you then made a delivery request via Royal Mail’s website for this to be delivered the following date.
Your parcel was delivered the 29/11
We sincerely apologise for the delay with getting your order shipped out to you, but we do feel that we actively communicated with you throughout the process to get it resolved in the quickest way possible.
