I got kicked out of the survey company reason was that I didn't answer survey properley I was as honest as I thought not happy

Your account was reviewed, and in short, you were given many chances to provide decent information before your membership was revoked. You really can't expect to remain a member if you don't follow the membership terms.

Horribly misleading

Many surveys are included that lead you to spend 15+ minutes completing and providing your personal information which then lead you to being screened out and ineligible for any compensation. This means that you're time is wasted and your information has been given out without any reason .

Horrible experience!

For surveys with a length of 15+ minutes, we allow up to 3 minutes for the survey to determine the right target audience.
If you are exceeding the 3 minutes please contact support@octopusgroup.com.au so they can chase up with the relevant survey client.

Once you have built up the minimum $20 required to cash out, they close your account with only 1 outrageous explanation " due to fraud " which is the most pothetic excuse to steal peoplea money i have ever come across.
How can you try to fraud a dam survey taking website, and it takes them for you to reach $20 for them to tell you?...after reading around online it has happened to many people.
So please do not waste your time here, they will steal from you

100% legit, cashed out multiple times

I’ve found this to be the only survey app that allows redemptions, so far i have earned over $100 since starting in April (about $20 per month)
Some surveys take longer than the stated time but I believe that’s just an estimate.
I didn’t have to provide any form of private identification either (government issued id’s)
I’ve read some of the bad reviews before writing this and it seems the main complaint is screening out of surveys (i too have had this happen to me on multiple occasions) however I have either not qualified for the survey or the survey has been filled prior to clicking on the link.
I don’t believe this to be a scam whatsoever! An extra $20 a month is great for just giving my opinion :)

High paying surveys

High paying surveys, the best one in 2025 . Paying every Monday , so far paid every cash out to my bank account. I am member since March 2025
Surveys values are based on how long they last
In short , most surveys around are in range 15 - 70 cent , here most surveys are above 2.00 dollars , some much more
Only current problem is I do not have many surveys in Tasmania....... yes , 5 star from me , if I can I will give it 10 stars

Quite a few

They tell you that survey will only take 11 mins, then once you click on the time is then 25 mins. Then some of their customers screen you out after you finish for absolutely no reason. Then you have just wasted your time, received nothing, yet they use your data. When you contact Octopus they say that we have no control over what our clients do, which is a cope out.

Support follow up just about every case reported, as they don't have access to the data (most of the time) it does take a while to extract the info from the clients. Just make sure you mention the survey name and the details of what you believe happened and they will make sure it's added to the chase up file.

Took over 6 months to accumulate $20…

Took over 6 months to accumulate $20 (the minimum to cash out) and sometimes would get 10 minutes into the survey before they screened me out; after already collecting all my data. This company is tedious and painfully annoying, don’t bother.

Attempted survey and got QA, explain how? I only answered my postcode and gender, and I'm 100% sure of my postcode and gender. Did I go too fast on my personal details that I am asked repeatedly? Why did I get punished for doing nothing wrong?

Increasingly frustrating

More and more I'm finding my account loaded up with surveys that I spend 15 minutes going through and screening out one by one because I'm not in the target demographic. Becoming increasingly frequent spending 10 minutes doing 'pre-survey' surveys that don't pay only to get screened out half way as you're not the target demographic. Super sus and scammy. Been a member for years but I've had enough. I like to do for fun but sneaky survey providers trying to to take advantage of people for well under minimum wage. Even as a hobby, I'd expect at least $20/hr

after spending minutes

after spending minutes, approaching the end, I carefully clicked final button, it did say thank you for participating, I wait and wait, wait for that exciting message to say, you have been paid 3.65, but screen did not change, after refreshing it, it says service not available, all my precious 15 minutes down the drain. I was so pissed.

Disappointing site promoted in news article that doesn’t cut it in reality

As frequently stated by others in these reviews my experience is similar. Frequently answer many survey questions to be then screened out , quota filled or not in target group. Waste of time and effort. You provide an enormous amount of data and opinions and they say it doesn’t get used. I call BS , that’s my opinion. Reading their feedback to criticism on this site covering the last few years they have significantly softened their responses. They have gone from being very defensive, dismissive and disparaging to a much more generic and pro forma like response. Basically responding for the sake of appearing to show they care. The 5 star reviews I see to me seem strange and suspicious.

They used to be much better

They used to be much better. Found that I needed to do their surveys using Firefox as not working well in Google Chrome. This morning I had cleaned out my system but still it didn't work in Chrome. The captcha failed at the start. Their surveys cen fail rather rapidly using Chrome. They tell me it works for others and try to justify it this way. Their surveys are getting longer too.If you can get the surveys and complete them they do pay well.

I'm not aware of your previous interactions but if you send a recording of the Chrome issues you are facing that might help to identify the issue. The majority of the staff use Chrome so I'm guessing this may have something to do with the extensions loaded into your Chrome setup... but it would be best for support@octopusgroup.com.au to do the actual investigating.

Waste of time

OCTAPUS is a SCAM! I was given my surveys and in the middle of doing them, i was screened out. I answered all quality questions correctly, but the site seems to screen you out to avoid paying you. It's a total waste of time. Never Try it!

Be prepared to spend 20 years to earn $20!!

You will be on your death bed while you will reach the redeemption point!! It took me over a year to redeem $20 in the first go and since then another year has passed I am still stuck at $11. After spending several minutes I get screened out and the company doesnt allow to cash out before reaching $20. The surveys get the answers of the actual questions they are after and soon after then they screen out the partcipants. There are lots of surveys available where you can make $50 a week just spending some of your free time... I will highly suggest try them. Dont spend 1 single second for this useless portal.

I would give 0 stars if possible. I get screened out of every survey and don't get any incentive for my time. I answer quite a lot of questions but somehow I'm ALWAYS screened out. Don't waste your time!

SCAM

SCAM. They "paid" for the first couple of surveys (but you are denied cash-out until you reach $20). And for the past several surveys they kept screening me out after a few minutes. Different excuses eg full quota (when I started the survery straight away after receiving a notification it was available). It sounds like an excuse to get some data, but then preventing the person from reaching the $20 to allow them to cash out.

We only get paid for surveys that are completed by our members.

It is of no benefit to us (at all) to have surveys screened out, quota failed or quality screened... these outcomes are just part of the process of limiting the information for the project to only what is needed to complete the project.

Screening happens when the participant's responses don't align with the project requirement, which can only be determined by asking certain qualifying questions.

Quota fails happen when a certain target has been reached, also based on qualifying questions.

There are often many targets in a survey, so sometimes trying to finish a project is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, this is where early quota fails will be encountered.
