Optimax Leeds and the whole team there have been absolutely outstanding. From my first conversation with Sophie on the phone to meeting other members of the team, for example, Tracy and speaking to Claire pre op, I have felt in very professional hands. My first consultation with Bila (optometrist) was very reassuring and I felt able to ask questions. I spoke with Dr Ilango (Consultant) who is extremely experienced and who actually did lens replacement surgery for my sister and brother 10 years ago and they have been so happy with the outcome I could not have gone anywhere else or felt in safer hands. I then met Dr Illango on the day of my surgery and felt very confident with going ahead. Wayne my pre op nurse was very knowledgeable, experienced and approachable, he listened and explained the process for the day. I had two scrub nurses, Lou and another nurse who were both kind and professional. My aftercare has been second to none. I met Joanne in immediate recovery, Wayne was there again and all staff on reception being as excited as I was and comforting. I then had a follow up with Naddir (Optomotrist) 2 days post surgery and again he was so approachable, reassuring and professional. I am now 10 days post op and I have better than 20/20 vision, I am astounded each and every day with the amazing outcome even at such an early stage. It is worth mentioning that I live over an hour from the Leeds clinic and it is well worth travelling for this expertise. I cannot commend Optimax Leeds enough and the whole team, thank you so much for leading me through the initial decision to taking the leap of faith to have lens replacement surgery to both eyes and I am delighted :)

Iv had multifocal lense replacement surgery...i was short sighted with astigmatisms in both eyes which this has corrected now.Optimax have been Fabulous helpful, warm and friendly throughout, and I couldn't recommend them enough...the consultation prior to surgery put me at complete ease with everything, the team were very thorough ..I had a phone consultation with the surgeon( Mr Juan Carlos Morande) who also was very friendly and professional and put me at complete ease about my forthcoming surgery.
Surgery was absolutely fine/ painfree nothing to worry about, I was talked through everything what to expect step by step so that was good and no pain whatsoever ! My vision was blurry right up until the next morning...but that cleared really well within a day ..all the dilation and anaesthetic drops contributed to that but I was told to expect this ..I went 2 days later for a thorough check up ..which went well ...things were explained more ..so its been brilliant aftercare too...I have another appointment in 2 weeks time then 3 months time so I think this is just brilliant aftercare service which is why I decided to go with Optimax and the reviews were impeccable which for me was very important! This has been an amazing journey....I have been a bit tired on and off in the first week but that's to be expected and very normal in the first 2 weeks but no problems ..seeing faint halos round lights but again very normal in the beginning but nothing negative at all...5 stars from me already and iv been told my vision will get even better still ! I'm very happy now ! MANY THANKS

Had Refractive Lens Exchange surgery on both eyes on Weds 15th April having worn glasses or contact lenses for over 45 years for distance clarity.
Within 48 hours at my first post-op check I was cleared to drive and resume golf and all other activities.
From the first web contact to make a ‘suitability’ appointment all interactions have been friendly, courteous and highly professional.
I investigated sight correction surgery 10 years ago but was put off as the staff seemed more like sales-people rather than clinicians but that was not the case this time.
Mr Wisan Muen met me the week before to check previous examination results and run through the replacement lens options, pros, cons and suitability for my lifestyle. On the day of surgery everyone was calm and reassuring giving me confidence of a great outcome.
No pain or discomfort - I hadn’t really believed them when they told me that would be the case!
I’ve got three sets of eye drops required for the next month.
Fantastic outcome in terms of vision clarity and I look forward to returning unused contact lenses and recycling for charity various pairs of, formerly necessary, glasses!

I recently had LASIK at Optimax Leeds, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish.

All of the staff were incredible — Sophie, Tracey, and Joanne made such a difference. They were so easy to talk to, incredibly accommodating, and had brilliant banter that immediately put me at ease. From the moment I walked in, everything felt straightforward and well-organised, and they took the time to explain everything thoroughly so I always knew what to expect.

A huge thank you as well to my optometrist Bilal, the surgeon Dr Samual, and the nurse in the laser room (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name!). They were all fantastic — explaining every step from the very first consultation right through to the surgery itself. That level of communication made me feel completely comfortable and helped me relax during the procedure.

For anyone feeling nervous: it’s honestly not as scary as it looks on social media! The whole process was quick, calm, and far easier than I imagined.

My recovery has been smooth sailing, and the aftercare has been just as wonderful as everything else. I’ve felt supported the entire way through.

From the moment I arrived, in the Leeds branch, the experience was extremely professional. I was greeted with a warm welcome and offered a drink, which immediately made me feel at ease. All of the initial tests were carried out by Brishna and Joanne, who were both personable and highly professional.

I was then seen by the optometrist, Sameeha, who explained everything clearly and in detail. What stood out most was the genuine focus on patient care—the recommendation for surgery was clearly based on what was safest and best for me, rather than what would be most profitable for them.

After thinking I wouldn’t be eligible for any laser eye surgery, I visited Optimax Glasgow just to confirm my options. The whole team were incredibly knowledgeable and informed me of the multiple options available to me and the best surgery for my lifestyle and prescription. I ended up getting LASIK and couldn’t have been happier. My surgeon was amazing on the day - even being knowledge on how the eczema flare up around my eyes would increase my inflammation post surgery and offered me to reschedule if I had wanted. The whole team were amazing and friendly and I genuinely enjoyed visiting for my tests and check ups etc. The surgery has been life changing, I now don’t need glasses and have the best vision of my life. I would seriously recommend visiting Optimax Glasgow for anyone considering eye surgery to correct vision!

I had my eye done years ago lazer , then 17 years later I came back again and had lasik and was a lot more pain than the other but worth it had complication of a tear in eye but don’t let that scare you my eyes are great and the surgeon is so nice rang me lot and text checking on me all ladies from the reception staff and other staff are lovely always on hand to see your ok and get lots of hot chocolate and hot drinks well there was looked after again lovely

Iv been Manchester first time and Leeds staff this time they were all lovely couldn't recommend optimax enough amazing that all I can say

Had laser eye surgery done last week using optimax from a recommendation of a family member. They have been fantastic throughout the whole process from consultation to aftercare. I am so happy with the results so far and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone interested in the procedure

I am two days post surgery but felt compelled to write a review. I went to Optimax Leeds in January for a consultation. From walking through that door I was treated with the utmost respect. These people deal with clients on a daily basis but they make you feel like you are the only patient to ever enquire about laser surgery. My first encounter was with Rebecca and Joanne on reception, they immediately put me at ease. I completed a questionnaire on a computer and then I was taken into a room for various tests. Next, I was called in to see Anna who is an optician. She carried out various assessments and we discussed my options. She was brilliant and filled me with confidence and positivity. Joanne took me to discuss the finer details, including the cost. She provided me with lots of information including information about the various surgeons. I was not put under any pressure whatsoever. We discussed possible dates in the future to fit around my work commitments. Once surgery dates became available, Sophie contacted me to arrange a suitable date. As the surgery date got closer I was scheduled to have a telephone appointment with Mr Samuels my surgeon. He was absolutely lovely but did not sugarcoat anything. He explained to me in great detail the risks and percentages of success. I was somewhat dismayed after speaking to him and it made me question if I was doing the right thing. I did more research and had another conversation with Anna the optician and I decided to go ahead. On the day of surgery I met Mr Samuels and again we had a frank discussion. He has been in the job for 26 years and it is clear that he is a perfectionist and wants the best outcomes for his patients and for them to be fully informed of the facts. I felt confident that I was in good hands. When I went in for the surgery everyone was so attentive and informative, I felt totally at ease. Everything was explained to me as it was happening at every stage of the way. I returned the following day for a check up. Mr Samuels walked by as I was sat in the waiting room and came over to speak to me. He remembered my name and we chatted about how I was getting on. I was called in to the optician who checked my eyes and also asked me to read some letters. Early indications are very positive and I am over the moon. I have a follow up appointment in ten days. I cannot praise Mr Samuels and the Optimax staff enough. I would recommend anyone to go and have a consultation, these people are so caring and professional. I will leave another review further down the line when my eyes have healed.

I had Lasik eye surgery with Optimax Manchester in January. I had done lots of research into the procedure and companies. Optimax had great reviews.
All the initial examinations with the optometrist were great. Everyone I met was friendly, helpful and couldnt do enough.
Them procedure was carried out by Dr Jan Grzeszkowiak. He was fantastic! You could tell he had a wealth of experience and was confident in his abilities. I felt like he had done it that many times, he could do it in his sleep. The procedure was completely pain free, and really quick.
I would say go straight home and sleep for a few hours. Your eyes sting and the light is uncomfortable. This eases after a few hours though. I also suffered from minor amounts of dry eye for 2 weeks, but was given drops to deal with this. A small price to be glasses free.
All the after appointments have also been great and I'm now discharged with 20/20 vision. Like everyone says, I wish I had done it years ago.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR LASER EYE SURGERY
Completely unhelpful aftercare service!!
So 8 months ago I paid for my 19 year old son to have eye surgery so he would no longer need to wear glasses for reading, computer work and driving…., cost thousands of pounds but thought this is money well spent considering his age and that the correction is for life. They assured me that after surgery he would have perfect vision until old age.
His eyes were completely worst for months after surgery and it was so painful for him. He continued for months with haze and glare. We went for aftercare appointments with continued eye tests weekly then every few weeks and there had been some improvements but not perfect vision.
He was signed off with great vision 3 months ago even though he still had haze and glare…. With them saying it will get better over the next few months!!!
His eyes have got worse!
With the lack of trust to what they had told me throughout this process I decided to go back to his old options for an eye test. His eyes are nearly back to the bad vision pre having the surgery and he needs glasses!!!!
I called optimax and they can’t see him for weeks and have made me pay £50!! For an aftercare appointment.
I have all the 3 areas of eye test reading from his discharge paperwork from optimax and have shared the new reading with them and his last readings from post operation but still they can’t not see make space to see him and have charged me!!!
So now I need to go back to his old options and buy him glasses spending more money!!! Outrageous aftercare service. Do not go here for your eye surgery as if you have any issue they will not be of any help! Be warned!

Unbelievable, I can’t explain how good it feels to see distance again without glasses. Ian on reception was fantastic and Dr Jan who performed the operation was amazing (one of the best in the field who actually teachers these procedures to others).
