Hard to Communicate With. Massively inept.

Simply can’t get through to them. I was in a queue for 50 minutes then a voice said “sorry we haven’t been able to connect you”
please try again later. Emailed but no acknowledgement

I note their response to this, so thank you. I'll add a star.

But then, they never did contact me, even though I emailed them again, so star removed!

It's now 14 May 2024. I've been trying to transfer out since October 23. I get through, they say they'll do something and nothing happens. they sent me forms which I filled in about February (after me bugging them). I chased them again yesterday. They were in a meeting! All of them! So I'm on the phone again today. I feel like giving up, but that way they get to keep my money.

AVOID AT ALL COST!
Been trying to drawdown my pension since September last year, sent loads of e-mails and phoned several times only to be fobbed off.
i contacted the pension ombudsman who gave me a case number to send to Options complaints department 2 weeks ago, just had e-mail from Options saying my file has been authorised should take 10-14 days for the funds to be returned to Options in cash and then they'll forward the money through their payroll, no mention of when I will actually get my money.

Awful company read the reviews and stay well clear.
It took me months of emails and phone calls to transfer my pension away from Options, after which I received an email telling me that some of my contributions were
not processed in time and they would get back to me….Nothing, not one word from them in 9 months despite me sending loads of emails to people at options (including Christine Hallett CEO)

This company should have a minus…

This company should have a minus review.

Have been waiting for them to release my funds since November 2023 and was told it would take 2-3 weeks. At the beginning of December I again was told it would between 2-3 weeks. In January guess what - it will take another 2-3 weeks and now they don't answer the phone, respond to emails even Christine Hallett who you are told to email - and which I did 3 weeks ago - guess what no response. My concern is if they can't count the days in 3 weeks how will my funds look at the end of 10 weeks. Where do we go from here? If I go through the complaints process will they even read the email?

Unable to communicate

First payment taken end October, I requested opt out info 28th November as no email received.
Email received saying my employer had not sent the required documents, once received would forward on my log on details.
Nothing received.
The only communication since then I have been told that I have left to late (over 30 days) to opt out.
After numerous emails and unanswered telephone calls I am unable to resolve

Did not want to join scheme in the firstplace, i did not receive any info to be able to login to opt out

Carol sorry to hear your experience, are you looking to leave the scheme and not make any more contributions as your employer would need to put you as a leaver on the next schedule, or are you looking to transfer out. I am trying to register for the first…

I am trying to register for the first time to identify what my pension is invested in. My temporary password doesn't work. I have waited 4 days since last email requesting a new one On the phone for 20mins to recorded music. No sign of a response. With this experience I now want to get details to ensure I can transfer out. Are they a regulated firm? Very frustrating lack of customer service.

Update - In response to Options comment, they did send me an email the following day but it was to ask for more information. Then it was 2 months before they set up my online access. Still waiting to transfer out to a provider that knows the meaning of customer service and investment options. Avoid this one at all costs.

AVOID

Options For You Tomorrow or Options Pensions or Carey Pensions whoever they now are, have to be the most lying, underhand, deceitful, company that I have ever dealt with in my entire career.
I have been trying to draw down my pension since the beginning of October 2023 and I am still no further forward, constantly being lied to and mislead by Options Pensions at every opportunity.
I have sent them everything they have asked for several times, yet they constantly tell me that there are still outstanding payment information & schedules amongst other things, all to provide a stumbling block and make it impossible to move forward with returning my funds. They are routine excuses for them after reading the horrendous reviews both on here and on Google.
I have chased & chased & chased them for over 3 months for an update, constantly being told lies and more lies, there is always a problem on my account or an issue that must be resolved before I can get my funds. Three years’ worth of my monthly contributions have been missing from my pension fund so have clearly not been invested so, what have they been doing with my money for the last 3 years? I have been locked out of my account as soon as I started the drawdown process so now, I cannot even see if my last 3 years of contributions are still missing, and it looks like I am not the only person that this has happened to because there are lots of other reviews that state they have missing funds. I will not tolerate this complete incompetence for any longer. I have tried to be patient, but I am now at the end of my tether.
I have as of today now been told they are working on my account and trying to resolve the issues…… what issues can there be??
Just give me back my money, how hard can that be……. Unless you don’t have it???
What do I have to do to start getting some action, perhaps I should start tweeting about this bungling incompetent shambolic company to the CEO Alan Kentish of STM Group PLC who own Options For You Tomorrow. ALAN KENTISH should look at the changing the name of this company to NO OPTIONS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO USE THIS COMPANY FOR A WORKPLACE PENSION!
Everything about this company screams AVOID!!!! It takes an hour for anyone to answer the phone (and that is not an exaggeration), no one has a clue what they are doing, everyone is a ‘Trainee’ and worse of all THEY DON’T EVEN INVEST YOUR PAYMENTS TO YOUR PENSION FUND.
In my opinion, this is NOT a reputable pension company; how can they be allowed to continue trading when they continue to withhold clients’ money and refuse to pay back people’s funds to them, bombarding them with excuses as why it’s not possible. The regulators should be looking into this company’s behaviour and how they conduct their business. There should be deadlines put in place about how long a pension company have to return clients funds.
Their mission statement is clearly based on lies and they are not focused on customer centricity, this does appear to matter to them at all. What a dismal company Options are.
I am expecting the generic response from Christine Hallett that is intended to be a sugar coating to my issues. As other reviewers have stated, after this response nothing further appears to happen. You are invited to email Christine Hallett directly and then they start their stalling process all over again because ‘they didn’t receive the email’!! My next step is X…. formerly known as TWITTER!!

Cashed in my pension in November on Feb now still no word when it is coming ask for updates nothing can't get through on phone won't ansa emails just told lies all the time to not pay out now with the complaint dept women named Pauline dealing with it she is even worse you ask to speak to her never at her desk won't respond to emails just get no help what so ever all told might b another 8 weeks or more don't trust them

Absolutely terrible company

Absolutely terrible company. All the other providers we have used are contactable, helpful and do not mess around with peoples money.
This company cannot be contacted by telephone, leave it months before they reply to emails (if ever), their website is shocking ( you cannot log in even though the details are definitely correct and when you ask to change the details no email gets sent to change). Steer well clear if choosing a pension provider. It`s not only myself who has had problems just to prove i am not a lone source. 10 employees at our business have also had the same experience.

The worst company I have ever dealt with

A wholly unreliable company with absolutely no meaningful customer service. Letters not responded to, emails not responded to. It should be no surprise that my company has referred this company to the ombudsman, and moved to another supplier who know what they are doing. And by the way, there will probably be a response to this review along the lines of "Please send me your details to christine.hallett@optionspensions". This is meaningless; I wrote to her last year and am still waiting for a response.

Received an amazing service from start…

Received an amazing service from start to finish from Melissa recently. I’ve also been working well with Tina and Ben and several others throughout my years with openoptions. Everyone are so helpful and nothing ever seems too be much trouble. Every aspect I needed was covered, they looked after everything for me. I have no hesitation in recommending Melissa to anyone in need of Pension and SSAS Services. She is worth every one of the five stars.

Absolutely diabolical- you will not get your money back !!! Do NOT use them

UPDATE FEB 3 - THREE MONTHS - NO PROGRESS WITH MY PENSION TRANSFER DESPITE THEIR PROMISES.

If it was possible to give zero, I would give this company zero. I was auto enrolled to their scheme and I am trying to get my tiny contributions transferred to my current company pension. Options are ignoring both my new firm and me.
I easily transferred other pensions such as Aviva and Scottish Widows and they were straightforward.
My new pension company has contacted Options on more than one occasion but they have still not transferred my pension - which by the way is less than £500. Thank goodness the sum is so small, Their upfront service might be good, but let these reviews be a warning to you if you ever want to draw your pension!!!! Thank goodness the sum is so small. If all of my pension was saved with them, I would be extremely worried for my future!!

I strongly recommend that you avoid Options Pensions. I have been trying to withdraw my funds from them (it is only a small amount) as I am retiring, and they have been most unresponsive. They claim there has been some project to update systems (but I think this is just an excuse).

Mr Moore I will look into your issue today and we will sort it out I can assure you it is not an excuse, we wrote to all our members that the upgrade to a new investment platform to improve the efficiency on an ongoing basis would mean that for a period of time we would not be able to process some transactions until the upgrade had finished, unfortunately this took longer than expected but I am pleased to say it has now been completed and we are working through outstanding transactions that had to be paused for a period of time. We should have kept you informed for which I apologise but I will ensure that your case is dealt with as a matter of priority it would help if you sent me your membership number and your email address so I have it please send to christine.hallett@optionspensions.co.uk

Options administer a commercial property investment held in a SIPP in which I have an interest. Lisa and her team dealt efficiently with the documentation when the tenant wanted to assign the lease, ensuring that documents were in order, signed and returned to solicitors on time ready for completion.

I wish I didn't have to leave any stars.

I mailed my forms on 2nd January to cash in my pension fund as I have come across unexpected financial problems due to long term sickness. I left numerous emails asking Options to confirm receipt, which were ignored. Tried phoning multiple times and eventually got through on 12th January, when they told me they hadn't received anything. this is an outright lie as I emailed again whilst the operator was on the phone and they received the email immediately. The first Operator I spoke to said it would be five weeks before I would receive my fund, the second operator, whom I spoke to this morning said it would be 8-10 weeks before I receive MY money. I asked to speak to a manager, none available!!! I have asked for a call back, we'll see.

The service is appalling and the wait on the phones is endless. Customer service is zero. When there are so many pension companies to chose from, clearly this is not a good one. Happy to have your money, not so happy to give it back.

Further to my review about Options For…

Further to my review about Options For You Tomorrow - Options Pensions on 08.01.2024, I have been asked by trust pilot to supply more details so that Options can better understand my complaint!! They say that if the information is not supplied in 3 days, they will take my review down. I have supplied the details they have requested only to find that they are the same details that I had already supplied in my email to Christine Hallet - MD of Options Pensions. No doubt another time delaying tactic! I have read many other reviews that state they have been asked to email staff at Options Pensions to resolve their complaints & issues, only to never receive any further replies once this has been done, this is clearly done just to make themselves look good and appear to want to help. Since I was invited to email Christine Hallett MD directly, which I did immediately, I have not even received an acknowledgement of my email. I called Options Pensions yesterday for an update only to be told that I am still in the same position as I was when I started the draw down process of my pension at the beginning of October, although it is now on hold because the MD Christin Hallett is investigating my case. I don't need my case investigating, I need my money back. Rest assured; I will not be waiting for another month for a reply from Christine Hallet MD. Instead, I will go directly to Alan Kentish CEO of STM Group PLC who purchased Carey Pensions in 2019 and then rebranded to Options Pensions in 2020. I am sure Alan Kentish will be interested to know what a shambolic incompetent abysmal company he has purchased, he only has to read the reviews to see what a total disaster they are, if he is hoping to take the UK pension markets by storm as he states, he will have a hard job with Options Pensions. I am sure Alan Kentish will be happy to refund me my small pension in a timely manner.
I will update this review once I have had a response directly from Alan Kentish.

You asked me to email you on Tuesday, which I did.........you clearly just reply to all of these atrocious reviews as some sort of sugar coating, I even gave further details to trust pilot in order for you to 'understand' my complaint & experience better, in the hope that you were actually taking your business reputation seriously, clearly you are not. I am thoroughly disgusted with how Options Pensions conduct their business. Your mission statement states how important your clients are, this is clearly nowhere near the truth of the matter. You have all of my contact details so best you jog on and look at your emails. Also, it's pretty damm hard to tell you what scheme section I am in when I have never received any correspondence from you in 6 years and cannot even log into my account. Please don't insult me any further with your excuses regarding enhancements and freezing transactions because it is pathetic, and no it wasn't communicated to anyone at all was it, just more lies, lies & lies. How you ever expect to recover your professional reputation if this is how you conduct business is beyond belief.

I apologise we have not sorted matters out from you I am interested to hear what scheme section you are in as we do have one section that has had delays due to an enhancement being implemented which we had to freeze transactions until the enhancement had been completed, this was communicated to all. I can assure you I would normally and generally good at acknowledging emails but if something has gone wrong of course I need to know but you have not identified yourself on this review. Exceptionally poor service

I have asked for information to be able to access my account. I have never been able to access it online since i had the account at least 6 years ago or more. During the last few years I have tried different avenues of getting information but havent been successful. I have no option left but to close the pension and move the money because I have no idea whats going on. It feels like barriers are being put in place to prevent me accessing my own pension. Im sure the company is not actively preventing people from accessing their money but their inaction or inability to meet this basic requirement over a long period of time means I can no longer ignore this. There are defintely training issues with call handling staff and there are clearly issues with the IT system

UPDATE on 08.01.2024- Re the message below from Options offering to point me in the right direction. Its a workplace pension.No contact details have been provided for me to confirm anything

I personnaly wouldn't recommend.

I have been enrolled by a previous employer.
I never received the welcome email and sent a query by mail to them. They never responded to me, despite several reminders and I had to get this information through my former employer.
Then, when I could finally create an account, I always had an error that my pasword was not correct. I tried to reset it several time but even the new password was not accepted.
I tried to query this several time by mail and never got any response.
I also tried to contact them by phone but it hanged up after 45 mins waiting.
Not a single contact from them since now 2 years.

I finally could reach Today (20 mins wait) them and what to tell; Line was poor as I could hear all of the colleague talking behind the operator. Then been put on hold for 5 more minutes (without clear reason).
Only have been told that I will receive an email with my connection details.
