They had already taken my money on the app so called customer service and spoke with multiple "managers", they all said they had to call the location which of course didn't answer but left the back ordering system/computer on. They said they are open even though they didn't answer, and we have pics of being closed. Said they couldn't refund us and someone would call in 48 hrs to discuss. NOT acceptable and will never patronize this business again, actually not any Papa John's due to the business practices or lack thereof

You have to ring a buzzer just to be let inside, yet the staff turned me away because I brought my bicycle into the large lobby with me. I explicitly explained that I did not have a lock and could not leave my bike outside to be stolen.The employee claimed that if they allowed me to bring my bike in, everyone would start doing it—which makes no sense given that they strictly control who enters via a buzzer. It felt like an arbitrary rule used to selectively target and turn away certain customers. Extremely unwelcoming and rigid service. I will not be returning.

Birthday rewards I was looking forward to my brownies
you think you’re gonna be able to get your birthday rewards but they tell you you can’t get it because you’re not ordered in a long time and it shouldn’t be that way I was looking forward to my brownies for my birthday. I ordered delivery and 15 minutes before it was supposed to arrive they said they gave my food to a doordasher… The estimated arrival time immediately jumped up 45 minutes and I have to wait on the dasher to complete another order before mine. Whats even the point of ordering from here? If i wanted a doordasher I wouldve ordered it through doordash. Absolute disgusting behavior.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but my experience with management here was extremely unprofessional. I was called and screamed at over the phone while the manager was actively in the store around customers and employees. Regardless of the situation, that is not an appropriate way to speak to staff.
The issue was based on claims made by a coworker who was apparently close friends with the manager. Even after explaining my side of things, it felt like the decision had already been made before I was even given a fair chance to speak. I was later fired and told I could never work for Papa John’s again.
I understand employers can make staffing decisions, especially if someone is leaving for another job, but there’s still a professional and respectful way to handle employees. The entire situation left me with a very negative impression of the management and workplace culture.
If anyone from upper management sees this, I would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to explain my side of the situation, because I do not feel I was treated fairly. However, after the way everything was handled, I would prefer not to have further communication with Steven directly.

After your note to customers that a delivery fee is not a tip, I will not ever have a Papa John's pizza again. You guys have pushed this too far. Tips are a privilege not a demand given to your customers. Pay your damn employees what they deserve instead of expecting the customers to do it. My family is joining this boycott.

We are regulars to Papa John's pizza place in Edgewater drive. Very nice environment. Pretty close to our home...not too close. We are accustomed to it. Yesterday’s service by Jonathan’s brother was outstanding. He could quickly pull your information with your phone numbers...he knows what we order normally also. Amazing intelligent person... maybe my kid's age:) just kidding.
They did one half with Jalapenos for me and other half with mushroom- Tomato, onion, olives and Jalapenos for me...
he kept it ready when we came to pick up - it was timely...Great gesture. friendly. Owner or franchise owner or General manager was awesome too... i forgot his name. I think this must be Chad. Who is the owner I guess... I am assuming. Please send a great kudos to Chad and Jonathan for sure.

I go to the Festus, Mo. Pappa Johns weekly after placing a pizza order and every time it is made perfectly the same, absolutely, delicious. All the staff are nice, helpful and always working hard. The Manager, is so kind. courteous to even help carry items to my car or hold the door open when i am struggling. Best Pizza place in Festus and perfect every time with friendly faces. Rhonda P.

I would have rated it a 0 if I had the choice. The crust was under cooked. The toppings were non existent. I don't know how anyone could classify that as a pizza. I am utterly shocked and disgusted after my recent experience at Papa John's. Having ordered from this location for a couple of years, I decided to pick up my pizza today, and what I witnessed was appalling. The staff was handling pizzas without wearing gloves—barehanded! This is nothing short of unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety.
There must be health regulations to prevent such practices. It was clear to me that they were not washing their hands between preparing different pizzas. I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed this before, and it baffles me that others haven’t either. It's alarming that those making our food aren’t following basic hygiene standards.
I will absolutely never order from Papa John's again. Customers deserve better, and the staff should be required to wear gloves while handling food. This experience has left me questioning the cleanliness of this establishment completely.

I have never experienced service this bad in my life.
I spent over $25 on a pizza order and tipped. I live in a small 1,000-square-foot home with two large, loud standard poodles who lose their minds when anyone comes near the door. The driver claimed she knocked loudly and called. That simply did not happen. If someone so much as breathes on my porch, my dogs announce it to the entire zip code.
When I called the store, I spoke with a man named Derek who was argumentative, dismissive, and disrespectful. He made it very clear that he believed I was wrong and offered no apology, no solution, and no accountability before abruptly ending the call.
Let me ask the obvious question:
Why would I spend $25 plus a tip on a pizza, then fail to notice a delivery attempt — especially while sitting inside a house with two barking dogs — and then have to call the store myself to track it down? That makes no sense.
I then contacted text support — useless. I called customer support and spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to resolve this, only to be told the general manager would contact me today. I waited. No call came. So I called back, only to be told that my complaint had already been closed by the store manager.
Closed.
By the very store I was complaining about.
With no resolution, no replacement, no refund, no apology — nothing.
All I got was two hours of wasted time, cold pizza, and an all-around miserable experience that cost me money and patience.
What is the point of Papa John’s customer feedback system if stores are allowed to close their own complaints without corporate oversight or customer consent?
I am 57 years old and have worked in customer service for over 30 years. If I was treated this dismissively, I can only imagine how college students and others are being handled — especially given this store’s proximity to ETSU.
I will not order from this location again, and I will not stay quiet about how poorly this was handled.
