It’s really quick action with app no waiting for telephone call to be answered and the staff reply in reasonable time . Also time saving as some of the help save time to go to surgery . It’s really good .

It's quite a straightforward app to use, and a good way to apply for an online medical consultation. I like that even though the questions may seem many, they are relevant to getting the right level of care.

Hammersmith Surgery and the Patcs system are excellent combination to contact my GP practice and receive relevant care. All doctors are kind and knowledagbale at Hammersmith Surgery. Our family mostly see Dr P. Ruprai who is an excellent and efficient diagnostician, he understands our concerns and addressses them adequately. We all feel very well looked after and although the three gnerations of my family suffer from various, sometimes rather serious health issues we all feel safe to be cared for by Dr Ruprai and the team at Hammersmith Surgery.

I use patches if I am sick or require help/referral/hospital info.

It works every time especially as I work full time .

I was asked pertinent and relevant questions by the AI. I felt I got all of the information across. I do feel that Some choices of the answers were a little restrictive

Very easy to use and saves time ringing up the GP practice. I’m very comfortable explaining my symptoms on this system rather than trying to explain to the receptionist. Call backs and emails are usually quick and reliable. I recommend using this service.

The service i have received via patches and the follow up by my practice in Chester as been really quick and efficent.

Recently I had to make few appointments with ongoing issue. The form is very simple and to the point to fill in. My surgery always responds promptly and I get same day appointment

I find patches a really good way to communicate with the GP practice when it is NOT of an urgent matter. If you have not tried it do give it a go. When I first started using it was not very clear. But now it is really straight forward. Staff are always super helpful and gets things sorted out.

Since my last review in 2023 I have largely managed to avoid using PATCHS. However, today I was asked by my GP to use PATCHS to send some photos to help in triage and to allow booking of an urgent appointment.
Initially, after reviewing the form, I could fins no way to upload the photo files. I checked on the help page and apparently there should have been an upload button, which I found after resizing the page, although this meant other buttons were then no longer visible, maybe it works on Chrome based browsers, I use Firefox. There were no scroll bars to allow moving around the parts of the page that were not in view. After finding the upload button I tried to upload the pictures but got a message 'Undefined file, try with another format', I was uploading JPEG (.jpg) images in the most common format available! There was no indication of what formats were acceptable or file size or resolution limits, nor would PATCHS transcode the files during upload as Whatsapp and signal do.
I never managed to send the pictures or book the appointment through PATCHS, phoned the surgery and sent the pics via email.
All of my comments in my previous review are still relevant and this experience has done nothing to raise my opinion of the system, I still think it poorly designed, not fit for purpose and apparently still in beta testing by the general public. I'll stick with Patient Access for repeat prescriptions and the phone for appointments.

From Reception to actually seeing someone has always been within 24hrs. I'm presuming because I suffer with COPD that is the reason why I have always found Patches to be brilliant

Timeout timeout timeout. I couldn’t even complain in their feedback form because they set such a short timeout on everything.

They give you 30 minutes to fill in a simple form. Fine right? But then "fill in this additional questionnaire", "are you sure you want to contact the GP?", "fill in another questionnaire", "read this article before continuing", "are you still sure you want to contact the GP?", "take a photo, watch this video for instructions", "go find a blood O2 meter and enter the number - be sure to leave it on for a while for accuracy"... "you took too long, start again"

I cannot stand software design flaws like this. Not like they're using it for health care or something.. Oh wait.

Using the PATCH online service has been an excellent experience. No longer have to wait for an hour in the morning. It's incredibly straightforward to use. I submitted my request, awaiting the survey response. Highly recommended this for anyone who works full-time or struggles to get through on the busy phonelines.

NHS app is very good and quick response.
