service was good. item I wanted was identified and after speaking to staff zi ordered and paid for it to be collected the following day.
The only negative was the incorrect advice I was given.I asked if it was "plug and play without any set up" I was told "yes"
it wasn't. it came in 3 pieces. and I needed to fit a drive belt.
luckily this was not too difficult.
However, I am dissapointed in being given inaccurate information.

I was looking to purchase a turntable and sought advice from my local Manchester store. I needed to know that the turntable would work with my current Denon hi-fi. I contacted the Manchester store via email asking for advice on turntables and if they would be compatible with my hi-fi and also enquired about extending the audio leads. I received a prompt detailed response from Matt including information and links to the cables I sought information about and build quality of the turntables. I had a few other follow up questions, which Matt promptly dealt with. Superb customer service from the Manchester store. After weighing up my options I decided to purchase the turntable online, but I was unable to complete the purchase, I was guided to phone the Manchester store as an alternative to complete my purchase. I spoke with Adrian over the phone and he advised me that the turntable was out of stock but offered a near identical model at the same cost. I also enquired about vinyl cleaning products, Adrian informed me that he owned the same kit I was enquiring about and recommended the product. Overall a great experience dealing with the Manchester store, smooth easy transaction and delivered to my home the very next day. First class customer service.

Over 10 years ago we bought a Cambridge hi-fi set-up from Richer Sounds, including a Project direct drive turntable, and we're extremely happy with our purchase, and the customer service that we experienced from all the staff we encountered. This year, the CD player decided it liked our Gregory Porter CD so much that it refused to give it back. We spoke with Adrian(Store Manager) on the telephone, and we took it in to see what could be done. He explained that because it was a very early model, spare parts might not be available to fix it. It turned out that this was the case, so we decided to purchase another unit to replace it. They agreed to refund the original repair deposit, and also gave us a reduction to allow us to replace the lost CD, which I felt was customer service "above and beyond". They also arranged for free DPD delivery the following morning, which has happened perfectly. I'd just like to thank both Adrian, and all the staff involved for their excellent customer service, experience and making us, the return customer, feel so special. I'd recommend Richer Sounds to anybody wanting hi-fi equipment without blinking. To us, you are a trusted supplier. Thank you very much.

The member of staff was so helpful, there should have been one item of the item we were buying in stock, but once he thought it wasn't he said it would be delivered free of charge the next day and it was. Exceptional service.

Bought the Phillips Tav3000 for a bit of fun. It’s what I wanted but after a while I wanted to upgrade it a little. (The phono quality not as good as its Bluetooth so I guessed there could be some improvement) So into my local shop in Manchester where they quickly sorted me out an upgrade stylus - audio-technica ATN3600LE. And explained why it was a better stylus - Apparently the ellipsoid shape of the needle means it snuggles into the groove better. There wasn’t one in store but one was soon delivered to my home. Anyway, definitely does sound better (clearer bass) - which was what I was looking for, so very happy.

I popped in based on recommendation from a friend to look at TV's. I explained I'd seen an offer on the LG website and asked about price matching. Before I'd even finished my sentence I was interrupted by the manager "can't beat that price due to their 1 year warranty compared to our 6 years". I asked if they could check the deal anyway and he said "there's no point in checking I've sold 5-6 this week and already know which offer you're referring to". Fair enough. I left not even knowing what deal they could do.

I then went to the Prestwich store and not only did they match the LG offer - they beat it by £100! So I do question why I wasn't given this treatment at the Manchester store. Maybe they deal with different margins etc but I'm questioning if this means I now need to visit multiple stores to get the best offers in future?

Edit - To be fair since making this review Richer Sounds have personally rang me apologising and said they will look into what went wrong. At the end of the day I got my TV for much cheaper than the LG website. So they seem keen to fix problems when they occur.
