From an old kitchen leading on to a double garage that was bigger than the kitchen and dining room put together, SKO came up with a design that went beyond our expectations.

The attention to detail in maximising space, look and flow of the kitchen is incredible also reviewing existing services as boiler location and designing around that meant it didn’t need to be moved saving us lots of money and also worked incredibly well as we have built in internal stack pipes that you would never know are there because of the design , The inclusion of the 3mtr island was a stroke of genius and for us just adds a total wow factor everytime we walk into the room.

The quality of the kitchen is not one to be missed either it feels quality and looks it as well, We used a family friend to install the kitchen who also commented on the high standard of manufacture and appearance and the detailed installation instructions made it easy to install.

We cant Thank you enough for the support and advice that was given during the whole process. Fantastic customer service all round and it was a pleasure to deal with a business who I genuinely believe care about the outcome and finished product.

My son had just bought a kitchen from SKO and we was also ready to start looking. He had told me about how helpful and friendly Simon was at the Hillsborough showroom. He wasn't wrong. Quotes were obtained from SKO and some other mainstream kitchen suppliers but they wasn't as competitive as SKO. Simon designed a far better kitchen with better quality units and appliances and was still slightly cheaper. We also decided to let SKO fit the kitchen and Jamie our fitter was simply the best. His attention to detail was just what l wanted. Thank you SKO.

A number of friends and work colleagues recommended SKO. Comments included “High quality products” and “Stress free”. We contacted them and arranged for one of their designers to come and have a look. James came, measured up and took away our essential and desirable ideas. The same day we were invited to the showroom at Hillsborough to view his design. We fell in love – James had included everything on both of our lists and the price was very reasonable too.

The showroom visit was a great way to visualise what each element of our kitchen would look like. There was no hard sell and we went away with designs and an itemised quote to look over.

We revisited the showroom and chatted to James a few days after as we had a couple of questions. A few tweaks later we paid our deposit, booked our installation date and eagerly awaited our new dream kitchen.

Everything ran as described. Sean Holmes, the fitter came and looked at the job. He discussed options for lighting etc. He gave us dates for when the old kitchen would be ripped out, electrical and gas work done as well as plastering. All of this meant we had to quickly reschedule old appliances to be taken away as the dates did not match the one’s we had been originally given. No big deal it was a couple of days out.

On fitting day all of the units, appliances and worktops arrived. Sean and Connor were there ready and waiting. As each day went by we could see the virtual kitchen James had designed taking shape in real life.

Then we hit the snags. All three worktops had blemishes and were rejected by Sean. Replacements were quickly organised and came a few days later. Whilst two were fitted the third wasn’t as this had an imperfection again.

Finally, after a few weeks all worktops were in place, our new flooring (which we had organised ourselves) was fitted, Sean came back to do the snagging jobs and fit the plinth around our island. We thought that would be it – finished. Unfortunately not.

Our kitchen fit was started mid-August 2022. It’s now March 2023 and we’re still waiting for the manufacturers of the worktops to supply one that is fit for purpose for one of our units.

SKO - The units and doors are first class. SKO use high quality products and it shows.

Fitting - Their recommended fitter Sean was a perfectionist and everything had to be just so for him.
What has let SKO down in our ranking has been twofold.

1) The quality of the externally sourced products. The worktops we had fitted (Blackheath – Spectra Collection – Square edge) have repeatedly arrived at the SKO warehouse damaged or with imperfections and had to be returned and replaced.
2) Follow-ups on issued raised with SKO. Initially these were very slow/non-existent. That was until the Sales Manager Mark got involved.

Mark visited our home to look at the issues first hand. He agreed things weren’t how they should be and also noticed an incorrect oven had been installed. Things then started to move and were rectified.

On reflection would I use SKO or recommend to a friend? Yes, but I would tell them:
a) not to have the worktops we have had; and
b) don’t be afraid to chase any outstanding issues. In fact, it’s a must as sometimes you do think you have been forgotten.

Jamie at the Hillsborough branch helped to design the kitchen, he was very helpful and very very patient!
He talked me through pros and cons of each choice, giving ideas when needed. I can't comment on delivery as they delivered all the appliances & units whilst I was on holiday, they kept my fitter up to date with delivery times etc. The units are made to a very high standard.
I feel I need to share my experience with buying a kitchen from SKO. I went in, thinking I knew what I wanted but with the input of SKO, they managed to supply me with my dream kitchen at a very competitive price. Thank you to Jamie and all the staff who manage to be on hand to help whenever needed, between us we managed to create a beautiful kitchen.
Would definitely recommend.

Richard at Rawsons springs sheffield branch outlet designer made the whole experience simple,he sourced kitchen installer Karl who got all the workmen,plumbers,electricians,plasterers,tilers the work was on schedule&professional for a perfect finish,a lovely family owned business top quality&very reasonably priced,saved me a lots of money,quoted £12k at wickes this was without specialist work so would of easily of been £15k saved me £5k so i got all my new kitchen done for 10k with absolutely everything including Vinyl flooring for kitchen,downstairs Wc,porch&outhouse amazing top work highly recommended thanks so much

Honestly don't know where to start. From start to finish James (Sheffield Kitchen Outlet) was outstanding. He was informative but never gave any opinions. The advice was always on our options but then also gave little tweaks on making the most of our space. The experience in the home was not based on a sales pitch, a real business man with the customer at heart. This didn't stop when visiting to pick out our kitchen, worktops and appliances. He had excellent knowledge of all the products. The kitchen is in and is of excellent quality, all cushion close and a strong kitchen. The appliances are brilliant and fit perfectly. When the worktops arrived they were scratched, no problem they were collected the same day and new ones with us within a couple of days. The after care has also been outstanding. An amazing company with quality products.

Rob, who helped to design the kitchen, was very helpful and patient. He talked me through the pros and cons of each choice. Mark and Ken delivered all the appliances up to my third floor flat (without a lift!) promptly and quickly. The fitter Colin Davenport managed to fit the kitchen to a very high standard in record time and was able to recommend tilers, plumbers, etc. Would recommend.

We wish to thank all of the SKO team in Hillsborough for all your help in designing, supplying and fitting our lovely new kitchen.

Firstly, Aaron was a pleasure to discuss ideas with and he really listened carefully to what we wanted to achieve. His design has included everything that we wanted and it will fit our needs perfectly.

Also, the delivery men were very efficient and everything arrived in perfect condition.

In addition, Scott and Charlie have done an outstanding job of fitting the kitchen. They took a great deal of time to discuss what we wanted, offered advice and they obviously take great pride in what they do. The oak worktop looks especially fabulous! We cannot praise them highly enough.

Whenever we visited your showroom, staff were extremely helpful and we are very happy with the service that we received.

Our experience at SKO started great; Simon was excellent in helping us decide which kitchen we wanted. The kitchen itself is great. However the installation and fitting experience has been a complete joke.

Our kitchen was due to be fitted on 18th April. It’s now the middle of June and the kitchen is still yet to be complete despite having all necessary deliveries for around a month now.

Scott who fitted our kitchen has been rude, unreliable and has cancelled/no show very often. For example on frequent occasions throughout this process he would no show when he had committed fitting or fixing an issue, not reply or cancel 4/5 hours after was meant to show up.

I notified SKO as our these issues on the 19th May following a month of being messed around by Scott. As of writing its 18th June; we’re still faced these challenges which has prompted this review… 3 months after our kitchen was meant to be installed.

This situation has been happening over the past 3 months and I have spoken to and reported it to Head Office/Hillsborough branch but not seen any change.

The kitchen itself and sales team were great. We’re just so disappointed with the installations and fitting - it would seem once they have your money they don’t value you as a customer.

It is 6 months now since our kitchen was fitted and we are really happy with it. It is so light and airy, the units are very robust and sturdy and the worktops finish everything off perfectly. Mike’s design was just what we asked for and his advice was very helpful. The cupboards have a place for everything and I am very pleased with the drawers and induction hob. We made a few changes along the way (even adding things to the utility room after the kitchen units had been delivered) but all our requests were accommodated.

We’ve got a great kitchen at a great price.

We ordered both a kitchen and a fitted bedroom from SKO and they were brilliant in all respects. We initially dealt with Jamie in the showroom who was extremely helpful with regards to the choices and design of both items, nothing was too much trouble.
The kitchens are superb quality and they have a great choice. The drawers and hinges are Hettich which are superb quality and the cabinets are all made in Sheffield and again are excellent quality.
The price considering the quality was very reasonable indeed.
The installation of both were to a very high standard; the fitters being both helpful and excellent at their job.
I would not hesitate to use SKO again or to tell friends and family about them.

Excellent service from the first appointment to the fitting. Professional team with great ideas for maximising your space. Delivered quickly and reasonably priced. No hassle. Used SKO kitchen fitters and they were brilliant. Dedicated to getting it right and very tidy.

We bought our kitchen from SKO 5 years ago. It’s as good as new and we still love it. Our builder was very impressed by the quality (we had full house refurbished) and enjoyed fitting the ready built units. It looks just as we imagined, it was very pleasing to choose the carcass colour to blend with the doors. If we ever move and need another kitchen we’d go straight back to SKO, but I don’t want to leave my house any time soon.

I've purchased 2 kitchens ( for different properties) from SKO. That in it self is an excellent recommendation.
I dealt with Rob who is pleasant easy to talk to, not pushy listens & creates what's in your head.
Couldn't be happier with this company 100% I wouldn't go anywhere else for a kitchen now.

Would highly recommend SKO. The whole process from design, delivery and of course special credit to Steve our fitter who made an excellent job of fitting our kitchen. It has lots of hidden features including a pull out larder, appliances and hidden recycling bins. Very happy with the end result.

We are so pleased with the kitchen from SKO. The quality is impressive and the price was very reasonable. We had a new kitchen (from a popular national kitchen supplier) not long ago in our last flat, and the difference is obvious - the SKO kitchen seems far better quality. Aaron was really helpful (and patient!!) and gave us excellent advice. I would definitely use them again in the future.
