Often you hear about companies making mistakes. This time I made a mistake on quantities and they sorted it out. Delivery was delayed because of it and again they rectified it immediately sending a special lorry. Cannot fault them throughout.

They made a mistake which involved sending us the wrong lengths of timber ordered. However it seems it was a genuine mistake, and when the actual ordered product arrived it was lovely timber (Siberian larch). So very happy in the end.

Very pleased overall. Class A Siberian Larch was delivered over a week earlier than initially advised and the few boards which were below standard were replaced promptly. Would definitely use Silva Timber again. Barry Shaw was especially helpful

This is the third time I have used Silva Timber for cedar shingles and shakes. I have never been disappointed by the quality of material or service. This time was no exception; good quality grade 1 shingles and they arrived when expected. The carrier even rang me to say the delivery was imminent (as arranged).
Excellent service. I don't do a great deal of work with cedar shingles but, when I do, Silva is my 'go to' supplier.

It's fair to say that timber merchants have had a very challenging year and some have managed this better than others. Managing the expectations of customers increasingly used to Amazon Prime-style order/delivery/tracking requires more effort than many are used to.
Speaking solely from my experience of my single order from Silva, I was initially a bit put-out that timber scheduled to be in stock at the beginning of August (according to the website) couldn't be delivered until the end of August but once I had got over that arrangement of the actual delivery date and the timber itself is fine.
I did seek clarification about whether one aspect of the natural variation in the decking was within the bounds of 'normal', assured it was and recommended a took to assist (the tool in question retails for only slightly less than the value of my whole order so I didn't pursue that option!).
The experience could be made a bit more DIY-er-friendly but on the whole everything was fine and the goods were decent quality and value.

Small Order of cedar was taken by personable guy and also a later add on to the order. However as did not receive any email confirmation I had to call twice a few days before the due date and again the day beforehand as still no official confirmation to check it was ontrack. However it was and the pick up went to plant and the cedar quality was good. So just sloppy sales office at Harmondsworth.

I note the other posts but my experience was excellent. They managed to find space on a delivery lorry, the the timber I ordered arrived in 2 weeks, The Siberian Larch planks are of excellent quality and look lovely. Very happy.

Pretty much identical experience to the person below. Ordered late July thinking it would be delivered within 5 weeks as stated on the website. I had to contact them before delivery and was given a range of excuses, and I was forever chasing them. Finally got a delivery date agreed for yesterday, waited at home all morning, got a text at 3pm saying it would arrive between 2 and 4pm, and then surprise surprise it never arrived (and still hasn’t). Incredibly frustrating, if you want to order timber believing it will arrive in 5 weeks a strongly recommend you don’t take this as a given. I wish I had gone with a different company, and would recommend that anyone else does too.

Placed an order for around £3,000 of cladding at the beginning of July and still waiting for it to be delivered now - some near 3 months later.

Their website appears to falsely claim the estimated delivery timeframe, which in my case should have been 4 to 5 weeks - I suggest if you are proposing to order from them that you take this with a pinch of salt. I appreciated there could be some slight delays in view of the current pandemic but at no point was I kept informed; instead it was myself that had to constantly chase them. Many phone calls with various members of staff, all with differing excuses - most of which have now been exhausted. When they say they will call you back, this doesn’t generally happen, they just like to fob you off. The delay has been blamed on many things, citing issues with the materials coming into the UK or the fact that the timber simply hasn’t been milled.

The most frustrating part of it all is that the cladding size that I had originally wanted was out of stock and I therefore opted for the cladding which they claimed on their website as being ‘in stock’.

I have now finally been given a delivery slot for just under 2 weeks time - however, this will only be for the cladding which has been milled and the remaining order will follow once milled.

I am absolutely flabbergasted how they can operate this way and treat customers as an after thought. Shocking service and close to non existent communication. Overall this has been a horrendous experience.

I will happily revise my rating once my full order arrives but what I have learned with this company is to not hold your breath.

4/5 weeks delivery? No. In my case 15 weeks at best.

UPDATE - On the 6th October all materials arrrived (except for nails which followed 2 days later) and I am pleased with quality and appearance of the thermowood. My rating has been increased from 1 to 2 stars. Such a shame it took from the 1st July order date to arrive.

First the good bit: the sales and customer service people at Silva Timber are great, and went out of their way to track down and chase my order. What could be improved is the communication - I waited almost 7 weeks without any information about where my order (cedar shingles) had got to. Even though I expected delays because of COVID disruptions and high demand, I expected to be kept informed. Products were excellent when they arrived, and I will use Silva again in the future.

Ordered 5 trims waited 4 weeks had to phone upto be told I dont know why my order wasn't processed. Went to pick up to find warehouse had moved an ended up at the offices to then get back in car to travel to warehouse after making a 1.5 hour journey to pick up the trims. Knightmare from start to finish.

Ordered Siberian Larch for fencing. Very helpful on the phone. Lengthy delivery time so went to collect it. Forklift driver very helpful finding tarpaulin to cover load on roof rack in heavy rain. Timber good quality. Would definitely use again.

Less than expected. Went for this although it's expensive and extra delivery cost then local alternatives such as B&Q and timber shops because it looks betters and expected high quality. what's delivered are: don't have uniform colours and some have even some marks which cannot be removed. some don't have smooth finishes than others. (should I sand them out?). some have cracks and found them softer than expected since it's for out door. (may wrong understanding on my part)
Overall, will think again next time if I plan fence work.

Order processing was excellent.

Delivery was excellent with very helpful driver who assisted way beyond the call of duty in unloading.

Product - Balau decking generally very good but a surprisingly high number of boards (7 of 55 amounting to 13% of the order) were warped making them unusable other than for cutting down to small lengths for detailing and resulting in much higher wastage than i expected. Quite a lot of the boards have evidence of woodworm, which I’m told should not be a problem, although 2 of them show very unsightly staining around the woodworm holes when the boards are wet or if any form of protection is added.

Product - decking joists - all 20 appear to be very good quality.

I contacted Silva to order one piece for a fascia board. I was contacted promptly and given a date and time at which I could call and collect it. It was a lovely bit of timber, just what had been claimed for it. They are still settling in at new premises but responded quickly when I arrived to collect my order.
