Simply, completely rubbish

This is for football World Cup..
STV have VAR (Christina Unkel) she is the worst VAR commentator STV will ever have, direct free kick Canada had against Qatar “when the referee showed yellow card and said it was penalty, she said, she had a look and it is a correct decision and it is a yellow card” then the referee change it after VAR, THE REFEREE SAID IT A DIRECT FREE KICK AND ITS A RED CARD, guess what Christna say after “ yes that is the correct decision, after I had look from different angles it looked the foul fen outside the box and it’s the right decision and it is a red card.
Where do you get this female VAR OMG.

What can be said that hasn’t already? All adverts play without issue but the actual “entertainment” you're using the platform for constantly buffers, digitises and stalls which makes the experience very frustrating.

Watching live events like the World Cup is beyond bad and even more infuriating is that there doesn’t appear to be any willingness on the part of STV to address any of the viewing issues. They clearly couldn’t give a rodent’s rectum about their viewers as their actual “customers” commercials play frequently and flawlessly. If it weren’t for having no alternative regarding viewing certain events i.e. the World Cup, I would have the app deleted and consigned to the annuls of bad memories.

This Player is garbage. God forbid you try to rewind it 30 secs, Ads that you have already watched. Basically once you get what you want, never touch it again. every button press will get you an ad.

They never show England International football games, including last nights World Cup match against Croatia. Is this just blatant racism? It's always the same........nothing changes, yet there is no racism against the Scots in England. So disappointing to have lived in Scotland for 30 years and had to put up with this.

Streaming world cup on any browser sucks. Freezing, glitches and even crashes. Should not be allowed to show the world cup. Do not have these issues with BBC IPLAYER for world cup or any other general streaming

The worst player of any channel.

Who ever suggested we would be dependent on this useless player for the 2026 World Cup.

stv is appalling utter disgrace waste of time ..always have problems with brookside always complaining and they do nothing ..this weeks episodes you cannot get cannot watch them ..utter joke

When it works it can be great but unfortunately it's always buffering usually as other folk have said it crashes during ads but it would never restart 🤷. A right pain in the ****

Shocking app it's constantly buffering and even with the subscription series are full of ads even in shows that are at least 10yrs old so don't waste your money on an a subscription infact don't waste your time with it period !

This is such a poor streaming service. In Scotland we are not permitted to use ITV’s streaming service, we have to use STV. It’s terrible, doesn’t load, so many glitches, lots of ads, not easy to use at all. It feels so unprofessional, like going back in time. Very frustrating and compared to others is shocking.

I have nothing to add as I have exactly the same issues as others have stated on here. I'm sick of having to go back to the start of a programme or sit through the same adverts due to this app freezing or buffering all the time. I go to use another tv in another room and I'm back to the start. I've used it for a while but it seems to have gotten much worse recently. All these reviews cannot be wrong. Sorry STV but unless this app improves vastly then I'm out.

Irrelevant trash!! Sack the Board and get some Scottish Sports on tv!!

I regulary stream from various apps such as Netflix, Prime, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, STV Player, AppleTV and can report that STV Player is almost unusable due to constant buffering issues. I have plenty of bandwidth (1Gb) and none of the other streaming apps have a problem. I get issues everytime I try to watch STV and I've gotten to the point where I've given up watching STV.

STV player is hopeless. The ads constantly repeat, if you dare to pause you end up back at the start. Tonight I selected Jonathan Ross to start from the beginning and it kept taking me to the 1% club which is the programme on before it. It never fails to disappoint. It’s diabolical

Lots & lots of adverts, but I sat through them and eventually started watching my selected program. Sadly an error message popped up after 20mins, and I had to start back at the beginning, including all the adverts.
I was watching on my TV. I have fast Sky fibre optic internet. I have never experienced any issues watching other similar channels.

It speaks volumes for the CEO of STV when he does nothing to resolve the issues highlighted on here. It is a shocking app and he should be ashamed of it. But hey, as long as he's getting his obscene salary, that's all that matters to him.

STV player is rubbish, frequently changes to live TV when watching catchup and you have to reload the show again navigating through the adverts. It is not fit for purpose.

When it works it’s fine but I can’t access the latest episodes of shows like the chase on my tv, but they are available on ITVx on my PC

The settings layout is appalling bad opening up account plans while trying to navigate to log out.
