I did stage one 1️⃣
It was a great experience i did stage 1 and ready to do stage 2 also my instructor ( Zoe k )was very helpful and taught me a new skill
Nice experience
This is the 3rd time for the kid at the Hemel Hempstead. She enjoyed a lot.
The first time been here bit chaotic due to not sure what need to prepare. Arrive at least 30 mins before for the fist time recommended and 20 mins after the 1st time.
It is high price £9x for 2 hours. With20% discount, £76 is fair.
The changing place is little bit smelly but overall hygiene acceptable.
Poor Experience
Instructors can vary with advice. Difficult to hear their advice when in groups; you only use poles half way through stage four or five, so spend a lot of time sliding around the place; cost is exceptionally high for a sport. Different instructors throughout the stages.
Ken P Stage 2 Beginner Lesson
Had a lesson with Ken P doing a stage 2 beginner lesson. Ken was really great at explaining what to do and gave great constructive feedback. He did great demonstrations and didnt mind doing them when we asked again for him to show. Thanks for a great time and making me feel confident with snowboarding ☺️ I hope to have a lesson with him again, thanks ken!
I had both a group and private beginner…
I had both a group and private beginner ski sessions here and absolutely loved it. Both Alison and Mel were fantastic. Looking forward to continuing my training via private seasons before I head to the mountains!
5 hour beginner ski session with John
Having previously tried to learn on a dry slope and leaving very disappointed, I tried the slopes of The Snow Centre in Manchester. Going from complete beginner to slaloming down the slopes with ease in just 5 hours shows how excellent of a tutor John is. I would definitely recommend!
Disappointing first Skiing experience
I paid over £100 for a 2-hour beginner ski lesson at their Hemel Hempstead branch, including equipment and clothing hire, and it was a very disappointing experience.
The session was poorly run and clearly overbooked. In the entire two hours, I probably spent about 15 minutes receiving explanations and only around 5 minutes actually skiing. Most of the time was spent standing around on the snow waiting for a chance to attempt what had just been explained.
In total, I had roughly five very short runs, each no more than about 10 metres. For the price and length of the lesson, the amount of actual practice time was extremely poor.
I would not recommend visiting this centre if you are planning on doing a lesson.
My friend and I did a 5 hour Level 4…
My friend and I did a 5 hour Level 4 lesson with David E. We loved that he paid very close attention to everyone’s individual strengths and weaknesses. He gave great advice that helped us improve each time we came down the main slope.
He answered all of our questions and made learning easier by giving clear demonstrations, which made the lesson even more enjoyable. We were slightly scared to start skiing on the main slope as it is quite steep, but David E helped build our confidence within the first hour of the lesson.
By the end of the lesson, our group had developed skills at Level 5, which felt amazing! He is honestly the best instructor we’ve had at The Snow Centre.
Thank you again, David E, for your time and patience!
Shout out to Will B- Manchester Snow centre
Shout out to Will B, had a 2 hour Ski lesson 26/02/26 at the Manchester Snow Centre which was absolutely brilliant.
Will was friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable and made the experience most enjoyable.
I would not hesitate in recommending the centre to anybody contemplating learning to Ski.
Well done Will you are a brilliant instructor and we will be returning soon.
Snowboarding lessons
Did snowboarding for the first time in my life two weeks ago, passed first three levels with Betty who was amazing, explained everything, was patient and gave a lot of good advice. Yesterday I passed level 4 with Lee, who was also an excellent instructor. Lee gave us a couple of really important and meaningful tips that improved my snowboarding immediately. I can't wait for level 5. Would recommend it to everyone, and both Betty and Lee were fantastic instructors! House position baby! :D
great lessons ! With Paul H and Neil P
Had a great lesson at the snow centre Hemel Hempstead last week with Paul Hurley, good instructor and plenty of laughs.
Following on…
This week me and my partner had our stage 4 lesson with Neil presence who got us from the beginner slope to the top of the main slope and skiing confidently.
Can’t believe how lucky we got with two brilliant instructors, thank you so much !
We look forward to getting our lift pass and hitting the slopes !
Awesome first time experience
Awesome first time experience! Gemma & Nadine are amazing instructors. I've never snowboarded in the past but was taught well enough to pass Level 1. I'll definitely be back again to pass Level 2.
Excellent for beginners
Excellent for beginners - make sure you book a group lesson!
This was my third lesson at the snow…
This was my third lesson at the snow centre with Dylan the instructor. Dylan was superb, he was patient and genuinely interested in getting us to the next level. Couldn’t have been more enthusiastic and just overall a great instructor.
Deeply disappointing and inflexible
Deeply disappointing and inflexible customer service
I am extremely disappointed with how The Snow Centre handled a genuine family emergency that prevented attendance at a booked lesson.
Despite explaining the circumstances and engaging with them in good faith, the booking was automatically classed as a “no-show” and a full refund was refused for a service that was never provided. The only way they were willing to reconsider was by demanding private medical documentation relating to a family member an unreasonable and inappropriate expectation, particularly when the individual concerned is not the attendee and does not consent to sharing personal records.
What was most frustrating was the complete lack of empathy or discretion. The response throughout was rigid, policy-driven, and dismissive of the reality that emergencies do not operate on convenient timelines. Repeating “terms and conditions” does not equate to fair or ethical treatment, especially when no service was delivered and no benefit was received.
Businesses inevitably face last-minute cancellations how they respond says everything. In this case, customer care was replaced with bureaucracy, and common sense was entirely absent.
I would strongly caution anyone booking here to be aware that even genuine emergencies may be met with zero flexibility and that you could lose your money regardless of circumstances.
Very disappointing experience, and not one I would recommend.
Great way to remember how to ski...
My wife and I are going skiing again after a break of nearly twenty years. We had a private lesson with Amber at Hemel Hempstead Snow Centre. Could not rate the experience higher! Amber was a patient and knowledgable instructor and we both had a really fun time getting some confidence back. Snow Centre staff were all very polite and helpful despite it being a busy time of year.
I spent over £500 on lessons here and…
I spent over £500 on lessons here and unfortunately was unable to attend my Level 4 lesson, meaning I paid an additional £65 for a voucher instead. Due to the summer season, this voucher then expired before it could be used.
I contacted The Snow Centre to ask if the voucher could be transferred to my sister, who was keen to start lessons with them. Despite our previous spend and willingness to book further lessons, they refused to offer any flexibility or goodwill.
Given the amount of money already spent and the potential for continued custom, this was a very disappointing outcome. I feel the situation could have been handled much better, and based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend them.
Great facilities and friendly instructors
I booked a beginners' day snowboarding lesson with Nadine, who was super friendly and fun and had us all riding comfortably and stringing together some turns by the end of the day. One of the best days out I've had in a long time and I'll definitely be back for a follow on lesson soon!
First class coaching with Kate Brooks.
First class coaching with Kate Brooks. My 8 year old daughter had her 2nd snowboarding lesson tonight and the progress made in the session was amazing. Kate was outstanding and Harriet loved every minute and wants to have more sessions with Kate to continue improving and learn from her experience. Thank you Kate. We’ll see you very soon!
Jemima is brilliant!
My wife and I have been coming on and off to the snow centre for a couple of years. I did all their classes from a complete beginner.
We felt a little rusty heading into a snowboarding trip to Levi in Feb and booked a 1hr private lesson to iron out a few wrinkles in our techniques.
Jemima provided the hours session and was just exceptional! We enjoyed her company and conversation, it was informative and constructive but also casual and relaxed.
She’s clearly a very skilled and talented snowboarder and identified some areas to improve quickly. I personally felt like I made big strides after only an hour with her and my (much more experienced) wife took a few pointers on board too!
She also stuck around after the session to help make some adjustments to our bindings, which she absolutely didn’t have to do!
Just wanted to leave a review to identify her personally, because she was great!
