Contacted them about an NHS incompetence issue and was met with their own repeated incompetence instead.
Having informed them that I can't use the phone due to disability, they spammed my phone number multiple times a day and across several days.
Upon getting this cleared up they re asked for the details I had already given them.
Upon getting those details and providing the proof they requested there was radio silence for almost 4 weeks and i had to start chasing them up, they didn't reply to my chase up email and instead started phoning me again.

How would I be able to trust they would have the professionalism or ability to act on my behalf when they can't even get something as basic as this right, I've now wasted nearly 3 months.

Got me to sort through years of emails and pictures, left me months with no update, then when they told me they wouldn't be taking my case, they didn't even know my name. You are just a number, and if its not a big enough number they're not interested.

Put in a claim in May 2023, I’m still waiting for them to give me any sort of feedback. I’ve called, left messages and emailed through and I still haven’t heard anything back from anyone. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on anymore. Don’t get me wrong they’re nice, but a bit of communication wouldn’t go amiss.

Contacted Thompsons end of October to assist us with an employment tribunal regarding disability discrimination for an Armed Forces Veteran. Heard nothing for a week to chased around 4/5th November heard nothing until a solicitor called Paul phoned us, hadn't even bothered to read the case, asked my partner to discuss the situation again despite it causing significant distress to him. The solicitor had an attitude problem and couldn't be bothered to help. I phoned again to request another solicitor. Chased again as no response, receptionist just kept apologising and said someone would phone, again nothing so chased a 3rd time. Finally a partner called and said we'd hear back by the end of the week if they will take it. I'd just like to add our case is clear cut with mountains of evidence. Come Friday 16:00 still no update so I chased again to be told yes we have a claim but we wont help. But didn't explain why just used jargon that we didn't understand and just said no. Why would you not take our claim on despite you telling us we had a claim?

Am awaiting a court date and my lawyer after many attempts still hasn't contacted me should l be worried?.

I had a disappointing experience with Thompsons Solicitors when seeking legal assistance for my employment tribunal case. After an initial phone call, they quickly dismissed my case, claiming I wouldn't win. Their assessment was made without fully exploring the details, facts or giving my situation proper consideration. They essentially shut the door on me, deeming it a lost cause from the outset.

Despite their refusal, I went on to pursue the case independently and I received a substantial payout from my former employer, a major national organisation. This was a significant and interesting case—precisely the kind you’d expect a firm like Thompsons to take on. Their lack of foresight and unwillingness to provide proper support was shocking, especially given the eventual outcome.

If you're looking for a firm that will genuinely invest in understanding your case and offer real support, I would think twice before approaching Thompsons. Their inability to recognise a winning case may have cost them an incredible opportunity, and their quick dismissal could leave others in similarly frustrating situation.

"Talk to Thompsons" - I don't think so.

I spent some time communicating with this company. I submitted my information and provided presonal detail and documentation. I was seeking help with a medical claim issue which I have a large document , proving clinical negligence. I was informed their specialist wwould call to discuss the issue. They did not call me . I called back and a receptionist in their offices stated they could not do anything to help. Seriously I said what expert decided this case could not move forward and the lack of the specialist did not even call to ask me any questions.
So that was a total approach that does not compliment their specialist laziness to properly review the case, probably just did not bother.
This company only represent you if you get a specialist which are lazy and inept to take onboard my details. Clearly they dont care or just usless at their job. To ADD insult to my enquiry, they retained all of my documentation which ws private and confidential. I had to call them back after several weeks to request they send bck that information to me. As Far as a review is concerned would any body should take the time to read the negative reviews on this company and I trust they go elsewhere . They dont help unless it suits them or you get a plonker that does not care.
I would close off by giving the reseptionist ( sue) who sent back the documents to me after my request to them was the only person that would talk.
AVOID at your peral this is a group of so called experts are lazy and or incompetent ...1 star only.Their specialist for medical negligence don't call back.
I have now found with ease another company that listened and acted properly. DONT USE THEM.

Not a great experience, as others have said communication terrible, not responding to emails and don’t return phone calls. Added to an already stressful and upsetting situation. Made a formal complaint and got the original solicitor removed from my case, replacement solicitor was much better and did communicate. Took 4 years to settle my case, 6 month delay due to Thompsons lack of action. Got payment a few days after settlement letter - 2 weeks short of the 4th anniversary of opening the case. Wouldn’t use this company again.

Took two and a half years to settle my case after false information numerous times and now been waiting 6 weeks on my settlement and no further forward zero communication and take ages to get back to you about anything. Worst company I’ve dealt with.

They took case on april told me what they would do, kept me informed and arranged
meetings.

From start to finish Nicola kept me updated with all procedures.
My claim was dealt with promptly,efficiently and with courtesy.

We used Thompson’s Solicitors to settle a civil claim case. We were lucky enough to engage the services of Stewart White. Throughout the year of working with them, we were continually impressed by Stewart and all the communications we had from across the company.

Stewart was thorough, honest, professional, but also very approachable and works and communicates in such a way that your mind is put to ease. In relation to our particular case, it was very complex with a lot of potential hurdles that arose. However, Stewart and his team worked hard and tirelessly, always determined to get the right outcome, and believing that it was possible.

My elderly father was run over by a driver and broke both his ankles through the negligence of the drivers actions. My father who was semi-retired had to give up his job and his quality of life was severely impacted as was my mother's as she had to look after him. I contacted Thompsons and my fathers case was handled by Derek McLean. Derek managed the process really well, building the case up through impact interviews, medicals, specialist consultation and negotiations with the drivers insurance company. After some low offers that weren't within Dereks expectations, Derek started court proceedings. We eventually got an offer my father accepted. Derek also dealt with my father in a sensitive and respectful manner as he wasn't comfortable with the legal process. Moreover, Derek was really adept at explaining the legal process and de-mystified a lot of the legal jargon involved. I would definitely recommend Derek and his team.
