I ordered a high-end custom PC (9800X3D, RTX 5080) from UK Gaming Computers. While the core components function as expected, the assembly quality, post-purchase customer service, and restrictive warranty policies fell far short of what is acceptable for a premium system.

On delivery, the AIO CPU cooler mounting screws were noticeably loose, and the block was installed in a way that forced the braided tubes directly against the inner RAM stick, placing lateral pressure on the memory slot. After correcting the mounting pressure myself, the pump still exhibited a persistent, mechanical noise that was isolated directly to the pump head. Despite doing their troubleshooting for them and providing clear video evidence of the fault, their support team was completely useless. Their only advice was to package and send the entire £3,000 unit back. Demanding a full-system return to address a single defective, easily swappable cooler is ridiculous and highly impractical.

Getting simple administrative issues resolved was equally frustrating. I paid extra for a premium pre-10:30am delivery service, but the PC did not arrive until much later in the day. I then had to repeatedly chase customer support over a 4-week period—from August 28th through September 23rd—just to receive a refund for the failed delivery timeframe. I was told multiple times that the "finance team had been chased," but nothing progressed until I explicitly voiced my frustration. To cap it off, I never even received a reply to my final email asking where the funds were—just an unexpected notification from my bank with zero follow-up from UKGC. Abysmal customer service.

Furthermore, UKGC frames their mandatory anti-tamper sticker as a measure that "backs up consumer law" and protects both parties, but in reality, it only serves the business. They require you to seal your chassis and email them a photo within two weeks of receiving the PC just to activate their store-level warranty. All this actually achieves is locking you out of your own £3,000 system and creating unnecessary administrative hoops for basic component upgrades. It also prevents you from properly cleaning the machine; incredibly, their official advice is to spray canned air through the external vents, which will only dislodge dust and blast it deeper around the internal components rather than actually removing it. Advertising this sticker policy as a way to protect consumer rights is entirely misleading, as your statutory protections under UK law are in effect regardless of whether a generic piece of tape is slapped across your case panels.

A custom build at this price point should not require the customer to fix loose mounts upon unboxing, battle for a month to get a basic delivery refund, or fight anti-consumer warranty policies just to replace a noisy pump.

Buying a gaming PC these days is a minefield - getting a clear picture of specs / availability / options / prices / delivery time frames can be a nightmare. UK Gaming Computers take all that stress away - a range of custom and pre-built options across all budgets with real-world performance numbers, solid communication and at sane prices. Would highly recommend.

I started looking for a new gaming PC a few weeks back, and ended up swamped with ads from all over the country, all claiming they were the best. I found UK gaming computers and their website was very upfront and honest, they had good pricing and finance options. The Pre sales was amazing and they were very helpful throughout. They even pointed out a spec I had wrongly selected and helped me right it, which is hugely appreciated.

The PC came quicker than estimated and runs amazingly. Very quick and quiet.

Great PC at a really good price and 6 years warranty! Ordered online and collected from their shop in Colchester the next day. Initially asked for a quote to upgrade my current PC, the team replied the same day.

Absolutely delighted with my experience at UKGC. I've been a customer for a while having had my own PC built by them previously, and the service remains unparalleled. Kain was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process of speccing and ordering a new build for my husband, guiding us through our options and configuring everything exactly how we wanted it. Communication was excellent, turnaround was quick, and the finished PC has been flawless since day one. Cannot recommend UKGC highly enough and will definitely be back for future upgrades.

Well built speedy delivery and well packaged

The graphics card never worked and when requested to return it with no supplied packaging claimed it was damaged in transit and if we need it returning it will cost me for the time spent trying to get it to work (when damaged!) and for delivery! So I have a computer that can do nothing!!! Would have given zero stars if it had been an option

Very happy with my new gaming PC, turned up on time and in one piece. Lots of emails telling me the state of my order and its delivery. I generally play Skyrim and various versions of Fallout and its nicely over powered for these games.

Spent ages deciding which company to use for my new computer. Primary uses are gaming and photo work. Eventually picked on UKGC and customised their Medusa build. I had some questions about my changes and was easily able to speak to someone. They had a good knowledge of their stock and suggested a couple of changes which worked well. Placed the order using their website which made it easy to do the customising. Note you can't pick anything, eg - at the time I was only able to get NVidia based graphic cards, you have to go with their selection of choices. But then they know its a combination which works. The build was supposed to take up to 10 working days. In the end it was nearly double that which is why I dropped a star but I knew it was a busy time given the end of Windows 10 so junk yards the world over were getting filled with PCs. However, I had lots of communication as to the build progress - in the end 9 emails - and I could track it online. They have a clever way of doing their warranty. You have to open the case on arrival to remove packing but then you have to install a tamper proof sticker as a seal on the case and upload a picture of proof for the warranty to be activated. This doesn't mean I can never go in the case again but I must talk to UKGC first to discuss my needs. I have now been using the PC for just over 2 months. I have had no issues with it at all. Worked first time straight out the box and was able to reconfigure all the drives how I like to work them, Overall I am delighted with what I got and relatively speaking I think UKGC are excellent value for money. Would be high on my list for a future purchase.
