The best antivirus I've ever used. It's super simple too which makes it a great combination for people who don't know much about cyber security. This combo led me to use it at my company's call center on 30+ computers, my personal computers, and my parents' computers. Easy and effective at keeping everyone and everything safe!
I trusted Webroot and paid them 1,900+ FOR LIFETIME protection last year. I needed them to eliminate a hacker that has been on my computer 4 days I was unaware. I was calling a bank today and the call was intercepted by a hacker asking me for banking information. I didn't give him much but when it was done I called webroot.
They cleaned my Mac up and then tried to RANSOM my computer's programming for $1,199. They said they were erasing the entire computer NOW if I didn't pay up. I did not pay. Computer still working but the threat after I spent 5 months last year hacked- totally erased any trust I ever had in Webroot. Don't let them hold your programs for ransom almost 2k.
I have been using webroot for five plus years. When I had an issue I called support. The support tech said that in order for the issue to be fixed I had to pay $165.00. I only wanted them to restart the software to protect my PC, I had already paid for a three year subscription. I believe it is Webroot's tactic to try to charge when all you need is something simple like restart the software. I am very disappointed in Webroot since I have been happy with them for a while. I chose to uninstall the software and I purchased another protection software even thought I had 200 days left on my subscription.
The company provides an online tool to submit false positives for investigation, but all the tool does is just says that the file is bad, because that's what the antivirus engine has already determined. There's no indication that anyone is looking at the issue, it just seems to be ignored.
I have submitted a file almost a month ago, multiple vendors have cleared the false positive, but this company seems not to care about the fact that this behavior is harming developers whose reputation relies heavily on sites like VirusTotal.
Update. After contacting the support they have finally responded saying the team has examined the file and they decided to keep the current status. Nevertheless, the file is an open source application that has been around for a long time and Webroot is one of the few companies that still think this file is malicious.

Might as well buy a brick, tie it to your computer, and drop it in a large body of water, because that is essentially the same effect that this software has. A laptop with a 3ghz processor, 32 Gb of ram cant open a web page or even system settings in under 2 minutes because webroot cripples it. push control alt del and you wait three mins to open task manager. Cutting off web access is about the only way to get even a resemblance of control over the machine. In the end i gave up and used my personal PC, and told my boss that if he didn't replace Webroot with software that worked then Id work somewhere else, its that bad (im not even kidding ive registered on several job sites because im sick of this software making an 30min of work take a full 8 hour working day)
2 stars. i paid for digital download WEbroot Plus, $35.00. i had to search the site and figure out how to download the software. took over an hour to figure it out. zero customer service. would not purchase again. they make is difficult to get the software which is kinda like a scam. I had it 2 months - it scans fast. my pc died so now with a different pc. after researching online, I find they are a subsidiary of Best buy Electronics. reviews also say it is impossible to delete it from your pc, it reinstalls itself. you may also want to check BBB for the complaints about WEbroot.
I was told this company was a legitimate security computer company, and that they, or their employees took advantage of that knowledge and scammed me into paying exorbitant fees for their so called services

I had to make 1 change in my profile, so clicked on RENEW button. It took me to a form that was blank, did not have any of my information. And it had a statement that made it look like I was a new customer, not one renewing. I finally had to make a phone call and almost did not get the answers I needed. I finally convinced a sales person on what I needed and he was able to make the change and assure me that I am a renewed customer and not a new one. Your form needs to be revised with better explanations. And the last email I received was confusing on what info it wanted from me.

I've used Webroot for quite a few years but only just realised it's worse than many of the Scam cowboys on the internet it's supposed to protect you from.
Webroot CAPTURES your PC and it's very difficult to get rid of it.
Because Webroot now charges ridiculous prices for renewal, especially for customers outside the USA/Canada, I decided to delete it and install a different software.
It's then I find Webroot does EVERYTHING it can to STOP you deleting it.. It's CAPTURED your computer.
You need to be a computer expert to be able to find the tricks to get this MALWARE out of your computer.
It's worse than any Malware software I've seen before.
I warn anyone thinking of installing it to BEWARE !!

Scam company that charges your card for some auto-renewal. I have tried contacting them about my father’s account and you cannot reach them by phone unless you have your account number, you are directed to e-mail them instead. I e-mailed them and to my shock, there has been no reply (sarcasm). My father has dementia and definitely didn’t authorize this charge. I’ll have to dispute directly through the bank.

Webroot prompted me to renew and so I did but I apparently used a different email. When I was prompted again in a year I found out I had two accounts due to using a different email which I then realized I never needed to renew the previous year because I had originally purchased a 3 year package. Webroot wouldn't refund the unused year they prompted me to buy because it was past 70 days. I explained to them I was unaware the renewal was unused until then & that their system shouldn't be prompting if a renewal isn't needed but they still wouldn't refund it. Bad Business!

Have one account auto renewal lets say 50 if use special 25 now didn't do auto they wont let me in . Called 3 times emailed not sure how many not one return call they suck. Also cancelled auto renewal and still charged did 1 month in advance Beware of this company

This pitiful excuse for a business doesn't even deserve one star.
If their products operate to the same standard as their non-support then good luck.
Emails are never responded to, and the auto-response offers a telephone number that doesn't work.
The telephone numbers that do work never actually get you through to a person.
Voicemail requests for callback are never actioned.
Support tickets languish unanswered for days on end before being closed on a spurious claim that the issue is resolved.
Having followed a buy link from the Web Console that resulted in the purchase of the wrong product, they refuse to deal with it by claiming the transaction occurred through a third party.
As a result, they taken my money, discontinued the services paid for and display a total disinterest in resolving the issue.
I don't know whether this company is a sham, but it's certainly a shambles you don't need from an entity whose raison d'etre is claimed to be the opposite.
In a catch 22 response worthy of inclusion in the comedy hall of fame, Webroot tells me to contact their uncontactable 'customer service' operation to resolve the issue I can't resolve because it's impossible to contact customer service.
This is Soviet bureaucracy at it's finest!

I have been a Webroot customer for 15 years and still Webroot customer. I will recommend them to anyone.
Webroot have an excellent software that protects our computer for any malicious threat.
I have one concern; the technical service is slow need more personnel to answer the question/problem.
Customer service; I have no problem with them.
