We have had a great experience using Wickes' Community Project service. Michelle went above and beyond to contact our school and provide us with the resources that we need as a small school. Thanks to them we will be able to repaint our classrooms and have guttering for our Early Years setting too. Many thanks!

Probably the best DIY store in the UK and would kick arse if they expanded to Scandinavia!

After tenants went out of their way to destroy the property on the way out and was quoted between 35k and 60k to have the place redone was thinking just walk away from it and sell up. I’m very lucky I have a good set of friends that all said they would help with DIY. Looked at all the big stores and smaller independent shops, Wickes ended up getting most my money 25k which covered new kitchen, pantry, laminated hard flooring in five rooms, all new curtain rails, toilet and sink, eight doors, and a list of equipment that will last a long while, the Botley branch was the main one I went to, great staff always giving good advice and what tools to use, one even gave me a cool YouTube channel to check out for ideas and cost cutting savers. If you want a great company with great deals all the time for your DIY highly recommend Wickes.

Wickes have done a number of bathroom refits for us now, always completed well on time and to our budget. Chris Doughty at Wickes in Oxford did a great job of managing the project, and the installers Red Dragon Home Improvements did a fantastic job and were great to work with too.

I am still waiting for someone to contact me from Wickes ! Appalling experience , when I left a review over a month ago they responded to my review saying someone would contact me about my experience! Just proves they don’t care at all and pay lip service to reviews on this website !! They still incessantly advertise on the radio about how amazing they are

Our Wickes project has gone well, the only issue has been a few items that were in the original plan but then had to be swapped out due to stock availability and one item that was incorrect which slowed things down. Luca, our designer, was really helpful and created a good plan. Red Dragon as our installers surpassed expectations for quality, the end result was better than expected

4 star given cause the delivery of items were not delivered had to be chased up. Very pleased with Red Dragon workers. Worked very efficiently and cleaned up when finished every day very friendly polite and helpful.

Shawna from the Oxford store was the most helpful person ever. She went well above her duties to help us with the order.

Luca was very helpful and realistic in helping us with our bathroom renovation.
He was clear in the next steps after purchasing and on the estimated time scale on the installation of the bathroom itself. He helped us to stick within our budget and was much more helpful and efficient than other competitors. Highly recommend.

went in store to order 140 bags of tops soil and Marcus was more than helpful , arranging delivery, taking payment the whole process was made easy by the professionalism of this guy, Well done you are a credit to your company and i hope this is recognized by your employees

Luca was very helpful in discuss our ideas for a new bathroom and in creating visualisations so we could easily see what it would look like.

Love visiting this shop, Marcus is always supportive in finding my DIY needs, and this next project is a small cloakroom, so found the T&G boards and finished the decorating. Thanks Marcus and Wickes

Service has been horrendous Issues to date. When I asked if this is typical of the service from Wickes I was told”not normally “

Issues so far

1. Broken bath when delivered
2. Worktop unavailable- not notified before install started and meant a trip to Wickes to pick a new one
3. Broken tiles - over a week to get a response from customer services. Also have boxes left that can’t be retuned
4. Installer was a day late starting
5. No bath taps/ should have been ordered but missed off design
6. Different coloured grout around the bathroom
7. Hot and cold taps the wrong way on sink and shower
8. Extractor fan not fitted
9. Tiles don’t line up.
10. No contact from the customer services team
11. Tiles at ceiling level not corked in
12. Hole knocked through to daughters bedroom not fixed
13.Chipped tiles
14. Chipped worktop
15. Top not sealed
16. Window not grouted
17. Chipped tiles behind door

This was supposed to be completed last week and because of mistakes no end in site . So left with no bathroom with two young children in the house

Michelle has gone above and beyond to provide Millbrook Primary School with compost for our vegetable garden through the community project.

At first we were happy. The Oxford Store Manager went above and beyond to help us, for example. But we felt let down by the designer who worked hard until she got her commision and then lost interest. She left the company and no-one was appointed to look after us in her stead The installer team worked hard but their boss was pushy, did not keep promises and did not tell the truth. The customer service team did not want to listen to / take up any complaints and instead told me to be honest in my review. Hence this. The installer left a large piece of waste at our house and never came to collect it despite several promises so we had to get rid of it ourselves. Overall a mixed experience and I don't think we would want to repeat it. I have not named the installer but Wickes know who they are.

Very helpful, knowledgeable and gave me excellent and clear advice.

I often visit the shop 7 to 7.30 on an evening when travelling is quicker. When buying bags of cement / sand at this time you often have to fight through a lot of split bags on the top. There seems to be a new brand of sand being stocked which is a very different colour - both sharp and soft - from previous brands. It is not of a local area colour so, if you use it, you have to use a different source to do the exposed pointing. Also the sharp sand is not sufficiently gritty. I find eg AWBS stocked sands a much more consistent colour, a grittier sharp sand and the set colour more fitting to the Oxfordshire area. I would prefer to pay more for a better quality product.

Luca Linfoot is a true professional. He helped me with the design of my kitchen. He listened to my concerns and solved them. Showing me all the alternatives in position, size, appliance, and colour. I found him to be very friendly

Unfortunately, I have had a very unpleasant experience. The worktop I ordered was cut incorrectly. Customer service investigated the issue and informed me that I needed to contact the showroom where the order was placed.

I have sent multiple emails to Chris at the Wickes Oxford showroom, but I have been completely ignored.

Due to the lack of response and poor customer service, I will not be using Wickes again and would not recommend them to anyone.
