I wish I had read these reviews before going ahead and instructing a solicitor from this firm who I had contacted to help with my situation. My husband left me after 31 years of marriage, lying to me and has basically given me no financially help at all. I had to take my pension early to survive and he left me with animals. This firm has taken all my lump sum savings and nearly a year later I am still in the same position. The final straw was when the solicitor gave my ex husband my new address without my permission, and when questioned said it was my fault, and I wasn't at any harm despite him threatening me. This is a serious breach of GDPR and I have had to take more steps to fight this. I felt that they didn't work with me and missed vital information and points that should have been looked into further. They have taken my safety net of savings away that I worked for after 30 years with nothing left to show for it and even hired a Barrister on my behalf who couldn't spell the word ' Judge'! I am absolutely devastated and will never overcome this experience. Please be very wary of using Wilkin Chapman Solicitors.

Well I really wish I had checked Trust Pilot before instructing this firm. To be honest I don't even feel they gave a 1 star performance it was worse than this.
They are slow, don't actually provide what you are paying for, the legal advice was non existant. I found the NRLA to provide much more help and clarity on my issue. As for communication, I had to keep pushing to get a reply. Emails were consistently ignored and if I phoned they didn't speak to me but then emailed.
Their complaints department however was very good and I can see that they probably have a lot of practice. I was able to get a full refund on one of my cases. The other I have paid as I have had enough of this company and wish to move on. Do yourself a favour and find another firm.

What a shambolic experience when dealing with a Deed of Variation via Crest Nicholson for a remortgage.
No communication.
Lengthy process predicted to take 3 weeks took 12 just to sign a piece of paper.
Totally useless.
Would not recommend.

They are a predatory company. Not at all interested in finding solutions. Only trying to wreck people's lives by using the system as a training tool for trainee solicitors.
The issue could of been solved weeks ago, but they don't appear to want to solve it.

I have been dealing with this firm on a number of different occasions. They have always been totally professional and caring at all times. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

I used Wilkin Chapman Louth for the sale of my house and I cannot praise Alan Duckworth and Yvonne highly enough. Alan took all the stress out of the process for me and Yvonne was spot on with her communication. I have never found a solicitor so on the ball and actually ahead of the game whilst also offering contact should the situation arise (which it didn’t). THANK YOU ALAN AND YVONNE for making a a daunting process so easy and pain free

Although we live in the Lincoln area we had to deal with the Beverly branch for conveyancing and then the accounts dept.
I am surprised we survived the ordeal, I cannot put into words the stress that was caused. We both suffered health problems due to the slow pace of all departments. What should have taken weeks took months. Avoid this company at all costs.

I first visited this firm as my late mother had written her will with this firm. Sally Vickers was rude and let me know she was not happy that the bank had put Mums little money in my account and not theirs, she was rude sharp and totally unhelpful when I telephoned with a further enquiry, the will is so badly written that even an experienced solicitor in my home town ( not Louth ) cant understand it. Property was placed in "trust", totally unneeded but with a bill of £365, and then taken out of "trust" with a mirrored bill , so twice paid. Kim Atkinson called me at 7pm in the evening on the day of my late brothers funeral to tell me whose name SHE was going to put my brothers estate in, she insisted and was forceful, but when I said NO and put the phone down she telephoned another client and told them I was abusive and she would not deal with me unless I apologised to her !!! client confidentiality not her "strong point". Richard Brown was snail slow supposedly registering the property but it turned out it was never done althought he did refund half the fee, lol . avoid avoid avoid avoid .

A threatening debt-collection agency masquerading as a law firm essentially.
NPower took us to court over an estimated bill that wasn't owed. They then 'accidentally' erased all our records - Wilkin-Chapman's response? Meh - not our issue. So they got a CCj and then a holding order on our new house.
I have had to pay this under protest as I've legally no option when trying to re-mortgage. Of course, with a pile of their fees on top.
This is the worse kind of parasite company that you find in the UK - I have no idea how they are legally allowed to operate - threats of bailiffs at the drop of a hat and they will ruin the credit ratings of working families without breaking a sweat.
Any one working there should be ashamed of themselves, and I can only hope the court system is turned upon them at some point for the damage they have caused families up and down the UK on the basis of spurious utility bill claims

This company are absolute scum.Theyll threaten you harrass you.Lie to the credit agencies and company about your payments....They actually reported us 4 payments behind when we have the proof that all payments were made..They must enjoy wrecking peoples credit scores.So underhand it should be illegal.Absolute disgrace.Id give them zero stars if it was possible.Theyre extremely threatening and predatory.

A great company to deal with!

This organisation has advised a council to stop all communication with me so that they, Wilkin Chapman can sell our home - making 6 people homeless. I was overpaid by the council and they listened to Wilkin Chapman and refused all offers of a payment plan and alternative ways to deal with an over payment of £9,000. This company were financially invested in a bankruptcy as they have been the trustees and the solicitors trustees racking in money all over the place - If it doesn't make sense then you are where I am - This company are morally bankrupt - Do Not Deal with them and report them to SRA and legal ombudsman - What they are doing is not right and they must be stopped!

My experience with this firm is poor. They never answer e-mails or phone calls, and it's a constant battle chasing them for updates. Months have been wasted due to their internal systems. I even ended up paying for my own tracing agent who found the person within 1 day, as 2 previous attempts over 3 months and they reported they were unable to trace them. I apricate the insurance company is paying for their services so they don't care if they provide good or bad service, but it's not acceptable to treat customers the way they do.

My experience with them has been poor. My case from 2018 is still ongoing. They have never been open or transparent. I warn you never use this company, they are a poor legal firm, working on behalf of N power.

Rubbish. Tell lies about documents been sent that have not.

Very unprofessional staff & attitude (Grimsby branch). Seem to care only about extracting maximum fees which is fine as they are a business but they don’t care about your problems just how much they can bill you!! Avoid at all costs

My partner sadly passed away 3 years ago in a RTC. Her name was on the mortgage that this company initially sorted for us both. It’s very difficult to still receive mortgage letters in our joint names. I needed this companies services for a Deed of Variation and have my partners name removed from the land registry .......... £700 pounds and 1 year of emailing and chasing the Grimsby branch they just take your money, don’t do the work and Dump you like garbage, ignore calls emails they just cut you off.
Please do yourself a favour and avoid like the plague

Robert Oliver at Wilkin Chapman Lincoln has been excellent all the way through my lengthy Personal Injury Claim.

He was always professional and helped me to understand all aspects of my claim.
