Excellent personal service
Booked an appt to set up an ISA in the Liverpool branch. Staff member, Steff, was friendly and professional. She explained the product details clearly and made sure I understood. Really great to have a local branch and face to face service. Been with Yorkshire for many years and always feel I can trust them.

Money moving experience
We didn’t realise that your system had timed us out and my money hadn’t transferred over.
We called in and got a young man who couldn’t care less why my money hadn’t moved.
We tried again with no success so called in again and got a young lady who was brilliant. She was patient and talked us through everything and my money moved over in time before the end of the tax year.
We persevered because your rate was a good one.

Returning customer
I was treated exactly how a new customer should be, that is promptly, privately and most of all with kindness and courtesy. The lady I dealt with was extremely efficient and sorted out exactly what kind of account I needed. Most importantly I was dealt with face to face and not by some stranger on-line.

Sorting out an ISA transfer efficiently
I needed to contact Yorkshire Building Society with a query about an ISA transfer. The member of staff was polite and helpful. She sorted out my problem (not one I could have done online). I would have given 5 stars except that it took some time to actually get to a person.

Why they do duplicate id checks when…
Why they do duplicate id checks when transferring 1 ISA to another is beyond me. Plus They use a company called Mitek for ID checks who are absolutely useless. Almost inclined to go to Nationwide!

When opening a new account you may be required to complete ID checks if we are unable to verify you electronically via an Experian check. We have a responsibility to verify the identity of each applicant before opening a new account, even existing customers.
If you need any assistance with the Mitek process, please feel free to call us on 0345 1200 100 so we can guide you through the steps. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.

YBS gave excellent service.
We like to visit a branch for certain bank transactions, to speak face to face with someone who knows what they are doing. The lady we dealt with was very helpful, patient, polite, and friendly and knew about the products. That's all that we want, expect, and hope for when dealing with a bank.
